The "Curse of Dimensionality" induced by the rapid development of information science, might have a negative impact when dealing with big datasets. In this paper, we propose a variant of the sparrow search algorithm (SSA), called Tent Lévy flying sparrow search algorithm (TFSSA), and use it to select the best subset of features in the packing pattern for classification purposes. SSA is a recently proposed algorithm that has not been systematically applied to feature selection problems. After verification by the CEC2020 benchmark function, TFSSA is used to select the best feature combination to maximize classification accuracy and minimize the number of selected features. The proposed TFSSA is compared with nine algorithms in the literature. Nine evaluation metrics are used to properly evaluate and compare the performance of these algorithms on twenty-one datasets from the UCI repository. Furthermore, the approach is applied to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) dataset, yielding the best average classification accuracy and the average number of feature selections, respectively, of 93.47% and 2.1. Experimental results confirm the advantages of the proposed algorithm in improving classification accuracy and reducing the number of selected features compared to other wrapper-based algorithms. The known Chinese sentiment dictionary has universal applicability, lacks the expansion of proprietary domains, and lacks support for network words. This paper proposes a new approach and applies it to the Internet news sentiment analysis text provided by the CCF Big data Computing Intelligence Contest. First, the corpus is segmented in Chinese to obtain candidate sentiment words that have not appeared in the sentiment dictionary. The candidate sentiment words are calculated in different sentimental texts. The proportion of appearance is obtained, and the emotional tendency of candidate emotional words is obtained, and then it is merged with the emotional vocabulary ontology database to obtain the expanded emotional dictionary. Experiments show that the expanded sentiment dictionary is better than the known Chinese sentiment vocabulary ontology database in the above corpus. © 2021 IEEE.

With the rapid development of intelligent algorithm and image processing technology, the limitations of traditional image processing methods are more and more obvious. Based on this, this paper studies a new pattern of sparse representation optimization of image Gaussian mixture feature based on convolution neural network, and designs a sparse representation system model of vehicle detection image based on convolution neural network. The vehicle image data is collected from many aspects, and the convolution neural network is used for comprehensive analysis and evaluation. The model can extract the feature information of the vehicle detection image better by making the scheme of the real-time vehicle detection image and according to the image features and convolution neural network algorithm. The results show that the Gaussian mixture feature sparse representation optimization model based on convolution neural network has the advantages of high feasibility, high data accuracy and high response speed, which can enhance the processing efficiency of vehicle detection image and improve the utilization of local environmental information in the image. © 2021, CC BY.

To improve the performance of the NOx sensor, a combined model based on the electrochemical model and the diffusion model is developed for the NOx pumping cell of the NOx sensor. Considering that a small amount of oxygen enters the third chamber and part of NO is decomposed in the second chamber, the electrochemical model simultaneously considers the reactions of NO and oxygen at cathode, and the diffusion model additionally considers the diffusion of oxygen and the decomposition of NO. To validate the model at different gas concentrations, the sensor is mounted on the designed test rig. Then, the simulation results are compared with experimental data from the test rig and good agreement is obtained. In addition, three key parameters of the model of the NOx pumping cell are analyzed. With the development of agricultural space-Time localisation, sensor network and cloud computing, the amount of agricultural data is increasing rapidly and the data structure becomes more complicated and changeable. Currently, the widely used agricultural database is the relational database. This database handles a large amount of data with very limited throughput and is not suitable for organisation and management of distributed data. HBase is a non-relational database of distributed file storage built on Hadoop platform. HBase is suitable for unstructured data storage database and it can handle large volume of data with high scalability. To better store agricultural big data in HBase, we propose a special agricultural data buffer structure which stores data based on the data category and a two-level indexing memory organisation strategy on HBase. The method proposed saves more than a quarter of the time compared to traditional buffering methods. Experimental results show the higher efficiency of the agricultural data buffer structure and memory-organisation strategy. Copyright © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

To improve the decreased recognition performance for truck license plate in complex mine environment, which is caused by such factors as polluted, damaged, a robust license plate recognition method is proposed. Firstly, several candidate locations of license plate in the truck image are obtained by utilizing features of both edge and color. Furthermore, the parameter of license plate area intersection ratio is defined to find the precise localization among those above candidates. Then, a character segmentation scheme based on the gray projection method and morphological operator is used to remove those interference factors, such as frame, rivet and stain and uneven illumination. Finally, to increase the robustness of characters recognition by CNN, a self-built license plate character dataset is constructed, which contains various polluted samples obtained by manual simulation. As shown by the experimental results, the proposed method has higher accuracy in license plate location, and obtains an improvement on character recognition accuracy by 4% compared to other existed methods. © 2020 IEEE.

Although Inquiry-based Learning (IBL) offers compelling opportunities for the engineering education, one of the challenges to the implementation of it is that the learner always lacks of the background knowledge. To provide him with the necessary knowledge when making the inquiry, this paper proposes an Ontology Supported Inquiry Learning technique (OSIL), which works on the basis of two ontologies, i.e. curriculum ontology and the learner’s ontology. The experimental results show that the constructed curriculum ontology and learner ontology is of high-quality, and the answers recommended by OSIL almost perfectly match with the true answers. From the experimental results, we can see that it is a feasible way of using the software engineering and prototype evolution method to construct the curriculum and learner ontology, and the individual inquiry based on two ontologies is able to provide the learners with high-quality personalized services. © 2021, Taiwan Ubiquitous information. Giant-cavity-based quantum sensors with enhanced performance

Recent progresses have revealed that quantum systems with multiple position-dependent couplings, e.g., giant atoms, can exhibit some unconventional phenomena, such as non-exponential decay etc. However, their potential applications are still open questions. In this paper, we propose a giant-cavity-based quantum sensor for the first time, whose performance can be greatly enhanced compared to traditional cavity-based sensors. In our proposal, two cavities couple to a dissipative reservoir at multiple points while they couple to a gain reservoir in a single-point way. To detecting a unknown parameter using this sensor, a waveguide is coupled to one of the cavities where detecting fields can pass through for homodyne detection. We find that multiple position-dependent couplings can induce an inherent non-reciprocal coupling between the cavities, which can enhance the performance of sensors. Output noise in our scheme can be reduced to the shot noise level, which is about one order magnitude lower than the results in Ref. [Lau and Clerk (2018)]. Besides, the signal-to-noise ratio per photon is also enhanced by about one order of magnitude. These results show that the multiple-point-coupling structure is beneficial to nowadays quantum devices. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we examine the synchronization problem in nonlinearly-coupled multi-weighted complex networks that contain uncertainties and varying delays. The complexities of these networks arise from the presence of both internal time-varying delays and multiple coupling time-varying delays. To address this challenge, we employ impulsive pinning control schemes and incorporate the impulsive pinning control ratio in the construction of the Lyapunov function, which allows us to determine the optimal number of pinned nodes at each pulse instant. Our analysis, based on stability theory, provides synchronization criteria that are strongly dependent on the multi-weights and time delays present in the network. Finally, we present numerical simulations of a delayed complex network to demonstrate the validity and efficacy of our derived theoretical results. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
