With the construction of new power systems, more and more new energy is connected to the power grid, and at the same time, the connections between regional power grids are becoming increasingly close. However, the regulation and operation of power grids between different regions are relatively independent, making it difficult to solve them using a unified optimization approach. Therefore, this article aims to propose a multi region power grid coordination optimization model based on security region, equating each regional power grid into a low dimensional model that can be directly dispatched. On the one hand, it can reduce the scale of problem solving, and on the other hand, it conforms to the interactive mechanism of actual scheduling. Finally, validation was conducted on a standard example system. The results of the example show that it can meet the effectiveness of the calculation, greatly reduce the complexity of the problem, and improve computational efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

The structure of intelligent substation SCD file is complex, and there are many layers of information. Different functions have corresponding information basis, and often need to be associated across multiple information nodes, resulting in poor visualization. This paper presents a multi-dimensional visualization method of SCD file information of smart substation based on knowledge graph. Firstly, the file structure and function structure of SCD text expression are analyzed. Then the SCD file node is extended and the seven-step method is adopted to construct the intelligent substation ontology, which is realized by Protégé. The knowledge graph of substation is constructed by using ontology and relationship between SCD nodes. The graph expression of SCD is completed, and the visualization of file structure information is realized. The information path of functions such as the correlation between primary and secondary devices and the correlation between virtual and real circuits is mined. The information nodes in the path are searched in the SCD knowledge graph to realize the visualization of functional structure information. The above work was done through Neoj4, Python. The simulation results show that knowledge graph can decouple SCD information and realize multi-dimensional visualization of information with a high degree of visualization, which can provide guidance for operation and maintenance and information retrieval. © 2023 IEEE.

Microgrid energy optimization management considering consumer segmentation optimization and dynamic time intervals

To prioritize critical loads and enhance microgrid energy management efficiency, this study introduces a method that combines consumer segmentation optimization and dynamic time intervals. A penalty-based approach is used to minimize unmet load demands, prioritizing energy for critical loads. A joint classification model for multi-type consumers is developed using a convolutional neural network autoencoder and hierarchical clustering. Dynamic time intervals are applied to reduce iterations and improve memory and processor efficiency in solving the energy management model. Simulation tests on a microgrid with distributed generation, battery storage, and consumption units confirm the method's effectiveness. Results show that configuring dynamic time intervals and segmenting loads by priority yield solutions similar to fixed interval methods. Finally, the energy optimization management effects of the proposed method were compared with those of two latest methods. The comparison results demonstrate that if a microgrid underwent four different disconnection scenarios from the main distribution network, the proposed method saves 23.15%, 23.08%, 23.79%, and 34.61% time to achieve energy optimization management compared with that of the first latest method, and 24.20%, 23.87%, 25.11%, and 36.18% time than that of the second latest method.

To implement the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, improving market mechanism to maximize the utilization of energy storage is attracting more and more attention. This paper addresses the trading strategy of independent energy storage station participating in both energy market and frequency regulation market. A restrictive coefficient of available capacity of energy storage participating in frequency regulation market is introduced, which characterizes the constraints of the energy storage between the two markets. Consequently, the market optimization model with the restrictive coefficient is constructed. Then, different strategies are set based on the capacity allocation of energy storage in the two markets, and the energy storage station's role and revenue are analyzed. Simulations under different participation strategies are done, the results show that with the increase of renewable energy connected to the grid, taking the energy storage more as an excellent frequency regulation resource is beneficial to renewable energy consumption and system operation. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of smart grid and new energy technologies, both load and source uncertainties need be considered in the calculation of total transfer capability (TTC) of power system transmission. Based on deep learning technology and the improved multi-point estimation method, a fast TTC estimation method considering uncertainties of load power, demand response and wind power generation is proposed. The uncertainties are represented by probability distribution of prediction error and Nataf transformation is introduced to deal with the non-normal probability distributions and their correlations. The stacked denoising autoencoder is employed to estimate TTCs of operating scenarios generated by Nataf transform and the improved multi-point estimation method is used to obtain their probability. Simulation results demonstrate that the fast estimation method is able to consider both load and source uncertainties effectively and calculate TTC fast and accurately. © 2019 IEEE.

When multiple distributed converters are integrated, the high frequency harmonics will randomly accumulate at the point of common coupling(PCC). This paper proposes a new fast global synchronous discontinuous pulse width modulation(GSDPWM) method of threephase inverters to effectively attenuate the high frequency current harmonics at PCC. Firstly, the basic principle and the realization method of GSDPWM for three-phase inverters are explained, which can be employed for different modulation types. Then a fast calculation method,which can equally derive the minimized total harmonic distortion(THD) of total current, is proposed to release the calculation burden. Finally, MATLAB simulations and experimental results are presented to verify the performance of GSDPWM.

In this paper, the synchronization stability of converter system based on the phase-locked loop (PLL) is studied, especially when it is connected to a weak AC grid. First, the small signal model considered PLL, power control, current control and voltage feedforward (VFF) control is built. The open-loop transfer function can analyze the stability of the system but hides the dynamic of PLL. So the conjugated circuit is proposed, which describes the dynamics of PLL and the other part separately. Based on the Bode diagrams, we explore how the grid impedance and converter controller parameters influence the stability of the system. In order to verify the analysis results, simulations are conducted in MATLAB/Simulink. © 2021 IEEE.

A novel approach to transformer fault diagnosis using IDM and naive credal classifier

Transformer fault diagnosis is important for improving the operational reliability of power systems. Despite great efforts to enhance the accuracy of fault diagnosis, the precise detection of transformer faults remains difficult. The major barriers are attributed to the lack of transformer fault records and related data, which may produce unconvincing diagnostic results, and to the fact that multiple latent faults in a transformer are difficult to detect distinctly. In this paper, an imprecise probability-based approach to transformer fault diagnosis by using the imprecise Dirichlet model and naive credal classifier is proposed. Instead of providing a single-valued probability, the approach calculates the interval probability for each possible type of transformer faults to explicitly indicate the uncertainty of the diagnosis caused by the insufficiency of historical fault records. Meanwhile, according to whether an overlap exists among the probability intervals of different types of faults, the proposed approach can output either one explicit fault or multiple probable latent faults that occurred in the transformer. In the proposed approach, the imprecise Dirichlet model (IDM) is used to evaluate the imprecise probabilistic relationships between each type of transformer fault and its corresponding symptom attributes. A naive credal classifier (NCC) is established to integrate the IDM estimation results and calculate the interval valued probabilities of all types of possible faults. Then, the transformer fault diagnosis results can be obtained by the classification criteria of the NCC. The approach can compensate for the defects of conventional methods, including their inability to perform reliable diagnosis with insufficient fault samples or distinctly indicate the multiple latent transformer faults. Flexible DC transmission systems can renewable energy consumption and improve power supply reliability. However, the control response and topology of flexible DC converter leads to a different fault output from conventional synchronous generator. Based on topology and control strategy, the controller response of flexible DC converter after AC fault is analyzed, and the equivalence of converter is proposed from the view of sequence component. The results show that positive-sequence equivalence is a current source, and its output satisfies the second order non-flush differential equation and is over-damped. Negative-sequence equivalence is an open circuit under suppression strategy. Zero-sequence equivalence is determined by grounding scheme of transformer windings and is not affected by control strategy. © 2023 IEEE.
