Gait planning of quadruped robots plays an important role in achieving less walking, including dynamic and static gait. In this article, a static and dynamic gait control method based on center of gravity stability margin is proposed. Firstly, the robot model and kinematics modeling are introduced. Secondly, the robot's foot static and dynamic gait were planned and the foot trajectory was designed. Finally, two types of gait of the robot were simulated using Vrep simulation software, and the differences in stability and speed between the coordinated gait with speed and stability in the static and dynamic gait of a 12 degree of freedom robot were analyzed, verifying the effectiveness of the gait control method proposed in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

Training deep neural network (DNN) with noisy labels is practically challenging since inaccurate labels severely degrade the generalization ability of DNN. Previous efforts tend to handle part or full data in a unified denoising flow via identifying noisy data with a coarse small-loss criterion to mitigate the interference from noisy labels, ignoring the fact that the difficulties of noisy samples are different, thus a rigid and unified data selection pipeline cannot tackle this problem well. In this paper, we first propose a coarse-to-fine robust learning method called CREMA, to handle noisy data in a divide-and-conquer manner. In coarse-level, clean and noisy sets are firstly separated in terms of credibility in a statistical sense. Since it is practically impossible to categorize all noisy samples correctly, we further process them in a fine-grained manner via modeling the credibility of each sample. Specifically, for the clean set, we deliberately design a memory-based modulation scheme to dynamically adjust the contribution of each sample in terms of its historical credibility sequence during training, thus alleviating the effect from noisy samples incorrectly grouped into the clean set. Meanwhile, for samples categorized into the noisy set, a selective label update strategy is proposed to correct noisy labels while mitigating the problem of correction error. Extensive experiments are conducted on benchmarks of different modality, including image classification (CIFAR, Clothing1M etc.) and text recognition (IMDB), with either synthetic or natural semantic noises, demonstrating the superiority and generality of CREMA. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Uniform Solution to QSAT by P Systems with Proteins

P systems are distributed parallel computing models in the area of membrane computing, which are inspired by the structure and the functioning of living cells, as well as the organization of cells in tissues, organs, and other higher order structures. P systems with proteins on membranes are a class of P systems, which have proved to be very efficient computing devices. Specifically, it was known that the Quantified satisfiability problem (QSAT) of a Boolean formula can be solved by a semi-uniform family of P systems with proteins on membranes and with membrane division. However, it remains open whether a uniform families of P systems with proteins on membranes can solve in polynomial time exactly the class of problems PSPACE. In this work, we present a uniform solution to QSAT problem by P systems with proteins on membranes in a linear time with respect to both the number $n$ of Boolean variables and the number $m$ of clauses of the instance, which answers the above open problem.

This study introduces an innovative approach for gesture recognition in smart wearable devices using a deep domain adaptation model, focusing on the challenges posed by heterogeneous user environments and the need for precise, adaptable, and personalized gesture recognition systems. Traditional methods based on machine learning and deep learning techniques, while effective, struggle with the variance in data distribution among different users, leading to accuracy challenges. To address this,the study proposes the Domain Kernel-Alignment Adaptation Network(DKAN) model, utilizing a new Kernel-Aligned Multi-kernel Maximum Mean Discrepancy(KAMMD) method within deep networks. By calculating kernel alignments between source and target domains and adjusting weights of Gaussian kernels accordingly, DKAN emphasizes features conducive to transfer learning, enabling more accurate cross-user gesture recognition. The model achieves a significant average accuracy of 97.3% across 21 gestures, highlighting its potential in practical applications. This advancement addresses challenges in traditional gesture recognition methods and sets a new direction for future research in smart wearable technology.

In this study, a novel training method is innovatively proposed to address the problem of poor generalisation of trained models due to imbalance in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) data. The method alternates AD image data with dog and cat data from natural images for collaborative learning training across datasets, enhancing the generalisation ability of the models. At the same time, inspired by current work related to attention mechanisms under the field of computer vision, the model is reconstructed and an attention module is added to the model to further improve the accuracy of the model. The experimental results show that the method has good classification performance and provides new ideas for the diagnosis of other brain diseases. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

image matting, aiming to accurately extract foreground objects by estimating their opacity against the background, has made remarkable progress through deep-learning approaches. Nevertheless, the majority of these methods require a user-defined auxiliary input, such as a trimap, which limits their applications in real-world scenarios. There are many auxiliary input-free methods that have been proposed by now, and some of them adopt a multi-task learning framework that includes a shared encoder and two separate decoders. However, these methods lack interactions between the two decoders, or interactions are implemented through simple summation or concatenation. Unfortunately, the integration of different features may cause negative transfer and limit the model performance due to the invisible information transmission process. To address the issue, we introduce the Pattern-Affinitive Propagation Module (PAP) to explicitly model cross-task propagation and task-specific propagation. Furthermore, image matting not only requires high-resolution detail features, but also semantic features. However, current CNN-based methods have limited receptive fields, making it challenging to capture global semantic features. Therefore, we design a module that integrates Dilated Convolution and Spectral Transformer (DSM), which can effectively capture global features and enhance global-local feature fusion. Extensive experiments on AM-2k and P3M-10k datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method.

As a universal language, English has been paid more and more attention, among which oral English learning is very important. In this paper, the two key technologies of pronunciation error detection and quality evaluation are studied, both of them are effectively integrated, aiming to build a model for L2 learners' English pronunciation quality evaluation. This paper mainly studies two different methods of pronunciation error detection. Based on the speech recognition framework, the standard score is compared with the threshold to judge the correctness of phoneme pronunciation, and the phoneme-dependent threshold is set to improve the maximum Precision to 0.44. By judging the correct pronunciation and confusing phoneme, the accuracy of pronunciation error detection is improved to 81.26%. This paper proposes the fusion algorithm from multi-dimensions of speech fluency and intonation respectively, and a newly designed feature called word duration ratio, which significantly improve the correlation of pronunciation quality evaluation to 0.746. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Recent advancements in controllable human-centric video generation, particularly with the rise of diffusion models, have demonstrated considerable progress. However, achieving precise and localized control over human motion, e.g., replacing or inserting individuals into videos while exhibiting desired motion patterns, still remains challenging. In this work, we propose the ReplaceAnyone framework, which focuses on localizing and manipulating human motion in videos with diverse and intricate backgrounds. Specifically, we formulate this task as an image-conditioned pose-driven video inpainting paradigm, employing a unified video diffusion architecture that facilitates image-conditioned pose-driven video generation and inpainting within masked video regions. Moreover, we introduce diverse mask forms involving regular and irregular shapes to avoid shape leakage and allow granular local control. Additionally, we implement a two-stage training methodology, initially training an image-conditioned pose-driven video generation model, followed by joint training of the video inpainting within masked areas. In this way, our approach enables seamless replacement or insertion of characters while maintaining the desired pose motion and reference appearance within a single framework. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in generating realistic and coherent video content. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The significant progress of vision-language pre-trained models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs) have provided a feasible new mode for image captioning, which relies on VLMs to process images and then utilizes LLMs to generate captions, simplifying the caption generation process and making it lighter. Based on this mode, to address the issues of deviation between the generated captions and the content of image expressions, incomplete descriptive information, and resource hungry in previous Chinese image captioning models, we propose a Chinese image captioning model via double decoding based on Visual Prompts, DDVP. This model employs the CLIP model as the encoder, the GPT2 model as the decoder, and introduces Visual Prompts, which are keywords related to image content. The model adopts a double decoding approach, first decoding to generate Visual Prompts and then decoding to generate the final captions based on the Visual Prompts. Through evaluation, we have demonstrated that our model achieves competitive results on the AIC-ICC dataset, and while maintaining fluency, the generated captions of DDVP can also cover the information in the image more comprehensively and accurately. © 2024 SPIE.
