Emotion Detection in Conversation (EDC) has been implemented in numerous domains and is under increasing attention. The EDC task is highly challenging due to the need to incorporate both the context of the utterance and the identity of the participant. Some existing EDC approaches employ redundant network structures and inadequately model contextual utterances, resulting in limited performance gains. In this work, we devise a Spatio-Temporal scale based Affective neural Network (STANet) in a simplistic and efficacious manner. STANet consists of two main components, i.e., spatial scale network and temporal scale network, which are applied to extract spatial scale and temporal scale information in the conversation, respectively. Prior to spatio-temporal scale modeling, we encode the identity information of participants to examine its impact on the performance of emotion detection. We conduct substantial comparative experiments and ablation studies on three conversational emotion datasets, and the results demonstrate that our STANet realizes superior performance without taking advantage of external knowledge. © 2023 IEEE.

The integration of large education and artificial intelligence technologies is gradually deepening, and how to provide personalized user profiling services for learners is an important research problem. In response to the long-term dependency problem and lack of learning features of today's deep knowledge tracking models, a deep knowledge tracking model (FSA-MuLSTM) based on forgetting features and the self-attentiveness mechanism is proposed. Firstly, the model combines the learner's historical learning interaction tuple sequences with learning times and memory residuals to obtain the input vector based on the LSTM;secondly, the correlation weights between tuples are captured using the self-attention mechanism;finally, the deep information between tuple sequences is captured using the stacking of multilayer LSTMs. The probability of correctly answering the current question is derived from the hidden vectors and the self-attentive weights of the output of the multilayer LSTM. Two public datasets are used for the experiments, and the combined analysis outperforms existing knowledge-tracking models in terms of performance and improves the accuracy of prediction. © 2023 IEEE.

The accuracy of weighing systems is easily affected by sensors, conversion circuits, temperature, and other factors. Aiming at the problem of significant temperature impact during the operation of the weighing system, which leads to a decrease in weighing accuracy. This article proposes a BP neural network method for temperature compensation of the weighing system to further improve the weighing accuracy. Firstly, a weighing system is built based on STM32 to collect system temperature and weighing data. Then, a BP neural network is built using MATLAB, and the calibration data is imported to train the optimal model of the BP neural network. Finally, the model parameters are imported into an embedded system to achieve real-time temperature compensation for the STM32 weighing system. The experimental results show that the accuracy and stability of the weighing system have been improved, and it has good application value. © 2024 SPIE.

The k-means method is widely utilized for clustering. Its simplicity, efficacy, and swiftness make it a favored choice among clustering algorithms. It faces the challenge of sensitivity to the initial class center. The enhancement strategy for the k-means algorithm focuses on refining the initial selection of cluster centroids, no longer using its random selection of initial class center points, but starting from the entire dataset, choosing the most distant point to serve as the starting cluster centroid. This can also prevent the local optimization problem of the k-means algorithm. The improved algorithm proposed in this article is an effective method that can select the initial class center point from a global perspective and reduce computation time. The suggested approach has undergone rigorous testing and comparative analysis across multiple datasets, yielding commendable outcomes. © 2025 IEEE.

How to provide individualized instruction and personalized teaching for students and effectively track their knowledge status in a targeted manner is a key concern in the field of education. The target of knowledge tracing (KT) is to use the learner's behavior in historical learning activities to model the students' educational process and forcast the future performance of students. Recently, self-attention has been used several times in the KT field. Traditional models have the problem of losing information under long sequence data. Inspired by Transformer, In this paper, we present a deep knowledge tracing model (MA-DKT) based on the multi-head self-attention mechanism, which employs the LSTM model combined with the multi-head self-attention mechanism to implement a deep knowledge tracing model that is able to catch the data characteristics of the students at different temporal scales. Our model works well on publicly available datasets and achieves some improvement in AUC. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.

To delve into the characterization of growth disorders in different crops, it is important to support the model with a large amount of image data that includes a variety of disease types and disease levels to capture the typical and subtle differences of various diseases on plant leaves. However, the actual process of gathering data is challenging, sample coverage is challenging to accomplish, data capture is impeded, and the quality of the data is subpar. This work aims to address the issue of data shortages by employing technical methods. In particular, we creatively investigated the UAE-GAN approach, which naturally combines CycleGAN, U-Net, Variational Autoencoder VAE, and Autoencoder to increase the data. Among these, U-Net can precisely extract the small details of disease locations in crop photos and provide a strong basis for further processing thanks to its special codec architectural benefits. The Variational Autoencoder (VAE) significantly enhances the diversity of data by mapping the image to the latent space and sampling based on a certain probability distribution, so producing new image samples that are distinct from the original image yet inherently connected. Learning the coding and decoding of the original image is the foundation of autoencoders. If a mild disruption is introduced into the coding process, it can achieve data augmentation in another dimension and create a sequence of new images with just little modifications to the original image. The aforementioned models are closely linked with CycleGAN to efficiently map and convert in a variety of picture domains and to fully leverage CycleGAN's remarkable unsupervised image conversion capabilities. Enhancing the resilience of power systems has become increasingly important to mitigate the negative impact of risk attacks. Integrating microgrids, which are small-scale power grids that can operate independently or in conjunction with the main grid, has emerged as an effective energy source for emergency situations and can avoid power outages. Typhoons, which are inevitable and relatively easy to predict risk attacks, have become one of the contexts to examine power system resilience. In this paper, we propose a reinforcement learning algorithm that combines graph theory knowledge to make decisions for optimizing power system resilience with microgrids under the Typhoon event. The algorithm effectively utilizes graph theory knowledge and reduces the number of decisions required in the optimization process. Numerical experimental results show that compared to traditional methods, the reinforcement learning algorithm can more effectively respond to typhoon changes, achieve flexible economic control, and enhance the resilience of power systems with microgrids. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.

Recent research on human pose estimation exploits complex structures to improve performance on benchmark datasets, ignoring the resource overhead and inference speed when the model is actually deployed. In this paper, we lighten the computation cost and parameters of the deconvolution head network in SimpleBaseline and introduce an attention mechanism that utilizes original, inter-level, and intra-level information to intensify the accuracy. Additionally, we propose a novel loss function called heatmap weighting loss, which generates weights for each pixel on the heatmap that makes the model more focused on keypoints. Experiments demonstrate our method achieves a balance between performance, resource volume, and inference speed. Specifically, our method can achieve 65.3 AP score on COCO test-dev, while the inference speed is 55 FPS and 18 FPS on the mobile GPU and CPU, respectively. © 2023, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The information conveyed through facial expressions accounts for a large proportion of the total information and can effectively express people's intentions and emotions. Facial expression recognition has laid the foundation for fields such as human-computer interaction, facial emotion prediction, and artificial intelligence, and has become an important research object in computer vision. This article proposes a facial expression recognition method based on the MobileNetV3 network for face images from different angles. The method uses depth-wise separable convolution, introduces attention mechanism and new activation function to update blocks, and redesigns the time-consuming layer structure at the end. The dataset used in this article is the KDEF, which includes 4, 900 color images with a size of 562*762 pixels. Through extensive experiments, it has been shown that the proposed structure in this article improves the accuracy of facial expression recognition from different angles compared to other network structures, achieving 94.7%, and has a smaller parameter count, which is beneficial for further research on facial expressions. © 2024 SPIE.

In order to solve the problem that the similarity method used in software module clustering can produce arbitrary decision, and the description matrix of dendrogram generated by base clustering in hierarchical clustering combination does not consider more characteristics of entities, a hierarchical clustering combination method based on intuitionistic fuzzy similarity (HCC-IFS) was proposed. In the process of entity similarity calculation, the intuitionistic fuzzy set theory and similarity calculation method are used to provide membership and non-membership attributes for each entity, so as to improve the merging efficiency and solve arbitrary decision problems. In the description matrix representation of base clustering, the absolute and relative features obtained from the dendrogram are used to construct the description matrix, and the generated description matrix is combined. Finally, the proposed algorithm is verified by experiments. Experimental results show that HCC-IFS can produce better clustering results and improve the recovery quality of software architecture. © 2023 IEEE.
