A Fast Clustering Based Evolutionary Algorithm for Super-Large-Scale Sparse Multi-Objective Optimization

During the last three decades,evolutionary algorithms(EAs)have shown superiority in solving complex optimization problems,especially those with multiple objectives and non-differentiable ***,due to the stochastic search strategies,the performance of most EAs deteriorates drastically when handling a large number of decision *** tackle the curse of dimensionality,this work proposes an efficient EA for solving super-large-scale multi-objective optimization problems with sparse optimal *** proposed algorithm estimates the sparse distribution of optimal solutions by optimizing a binary vector for each solution,and provides a fast clustering method to highly reduce the dimensionality of the search *** importantly,all the operations related to the decision variables only contain several matrix calculations,which can be directly accelerated by *** existing EAs are capable of handling fewer than 10000 real variables,the proposed algorithm is verified to be effective in handling 1000000 real ***,since the proposed algorithm handles the large number of variables via accelerated matrix calculations,its runtime can be reduced to less than 10%of the runtime of existing EAs.

Capturing the root cause and propagation path of the fault is critical to ensuring the safety and efficiency of industrial processes, especially those that inadequately utilize process knowledge and data. To address this issue, a unified framework integrating knowledge and data for collaborative root cause identification is proposed. First, the knowledge causal graph (KCG) is constructed using expert knowledge and industrial flow charts, providing a preliminary reference for subsequent causality analysis. Next, by replacing the traditional vector autoregression (VAR) model in Granger Causality (GC) with the gated recurrent unit (GRU), a more reliable causal relationship between variables is obtained. Additionally, a causality fusion propagation path identification method (CF-PPI) is designed to identify the root cause and propagation path of the fault, so that the obtained fault propagation path has less redundancy and higher accuracy. Finally, the method is validated using data from the ASHRAE RP-1043 centrifugal chiller. © 2024 IEEE.

Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) plays a pivotal role in autonomous driving and robotics. Existing methods often rely on hand-craft feature extraction and cross-modal fusion techniques, resulting in limited feature representation capability and reduced robustness. To address this challenge, we introduce DeepPointMap2, a novel learning-based LiDAR-Visual SLAM architecture that leverages neural descriptors to tackle multiple SLAM sub-tasks in a unified manner. Our approach employs neural networks to extract multi-modal tokens, which are then adaptively fused by the Visual-Point Fusion Module to generate sparse 3D neural descriptors, ensuring precise and robust performance. As a pioneering work, our method achieves state-of-the-art localization performance among various Visual-, LiDAR-, and Visual-LiDAR-based methods in widely-used benchmarks, as shown in the experiment results. Furthermore, the approach proves to be robust in scenarios involving camera failure and LiDAR obstruction. © 2024 ACM.

Siamese Interaction and Fine-Tuning Representation of Chinese Semantic Matching Algorithm Based on RoBERTa-wwm-ext

Semantic matching research is the cornerstone of research in the fields of natural language similarity measurement and sensor ontology matching (OM). In the existing Chinese semantic matching methods, there are some shortcomings, such as the single dimension of semantic expression, the insufficient expression of context semantic relations, and the insufficient interaction of semantic information between different sentences. This paper proposes a Chinese semantic matching algorithm based on RoBERTa-wwm-ext with Siamese interaction and fine-tuning representation (RSIFR). The RSIFR model initializes the model with RoBERTa-wwm-ext as a vector of text. Firstly, a Siamese structure with embedded soft alignment attention mechanism and BiLSTM is constructed to realize the information interaction between two sentences. Secondly, LSTM-BiLSTM network structure is constructed to enhance the expression of semantic logic before and after sentences. Then, build a training model with fine-tuning mechanism. Fine tune the text's eigenvector parameters through label supervision. Finally, the fusion vectors of the sentence pairs are inserted into the MLP network layer, resulting in semantic matching results. RSIFR model starts from a variety of dimensions, strengthens the expression ability of vectors to text semantic relations, deeply mines the semantic similarities and differences between different sentences, and generally improves the Chinese semantic matching performance. Experiments on the public dataset LCQMC show that our model outperforms existing Chinese semantic matching models. © 2023 Baohua Qiang et al.

Joint extraction of entities and relations is an essential task in information extraction. Recently, tagging-based models have gained attention but with poor performance on overlapping triplets, which confronted the issues like cascading errors, information redundancy, and sensitivity to subject extraction. To solve the issue of overlapping triplets, we propose a model combined Gated Attention Unit (GAU) and Multi-head Attention Mechanism (MHA) in this paper. This model distinguishes features for entities and relations, and performs entity recognition for each head entity, different head entities are matched to the same or different tail entities. Then specific tail entity tagging is applied to determine all possible relations and corresponding tails. At the same time, in order to better solve the long-distance dependence and complex multiple relations between entities, GAU and MHA are used to enhance the semantic representation, effectively identify entities and relations, and enhance the learning ability and generalization ability of the model. Experiment results on the public datasets DuIE2.0 and CMeIE show that our model performs better than baselines. © 2024 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. All rights reserved.

Extending generalized unsupervised manifold alignment

Building connections between different data sets is a fundamental task in machine learning and related application community. With proper manifold alignment, the correspondences between data sets will assist us with comprehensive study of data processes and analyses. Despite the several progresses in semi-supervised and unsupervised scenarios, potent manifold alignment methods in generalized and realistic circumstances remain in absence. Besides, theretofore unsupervised algorithms seldom prove themselves mathematically. In this paper, we devise an efficient method to properly solve the unsupervised manifold alignment problem and denominate it as extending generalized unsupervised manifold alignment(EGUMA)method. More specifically, an explicit relaxed integer programming method is adopted to solve the unsupervised manifold alignment problem, which reconciles three factors covering the updated local structure matching, the the feature comparability and geometric preservation. An additional effort is retained on extending the Frank Wolfe algorithm to tacking our optimization problem. Besides our previous endeavors we adopt a new strategy for neighborhood discovery in the manifolds. The main advantages over previous methods accommodate(1) simultaneous alignment and discovery of manifolds;(2) complete unsupervised learning structure without any prerequisite correspondence;(3) more concise local geometry for the embedding space;(4) efficient alternative optimization;(5) strict mathematical analysis on the convergence and efficiency issues. Experiments on real-world applications verify the high accuracy and efficiency of our proposed method.

An edge detection technology based on the combination of non-downsampling contour wave transform (NSCT) and tensor voting is proposed, which aims to obtain more accurate and detailed edge information of buildings in remote sensing images. Firstly, NSCT is used for image decomposition to obtain the subband frequency information of different scales and angles. Then, position encoding is performed on these subband coefficients to obtain second-order symmetric tensors at the corresponding positions. Tensors of different scales and angles at the same position are weighted and summed to complete feature fusion. Finally, the edge features of the image are obtained based on tensor voting theory. The experimental results show that compared to common edge detection technologies, such as Canny, Fast Edge (Fast edge detection using structured forests) and HED (Holistically-Nested Edge Detection), our method can more accurately and intensively reflect the boundaries of buildings and the edge information of roofs, providing better support for the analysis of building types and architectural styles. Compared to the HED method, which is based on deep learning, our method improves PSNR and SSIM metrics by 0.98 and 0.03, respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The levels of inter-user interference (IUI) usually vary due to the different geographical locations of users, but, most existing beam selection methods apply the same beam selection criteria for all users, which is detrimental to maintain an attractive trade-off between complexity and system performance. Considering the discrepancy of IUI comprehensively, a low complexity beam selection method for millimeter-wave massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is proposed. Firstly, a candidate beam set (CBS) is constructed in light of the sparsity and power distribution of the beamspace channel, thereby all users are classified into non-interfering users (NIUs), low-interference users (LIUs) and high-interference users (HIUs). For NIUs, the beams with large power are selected from CBS under the magnitude maximization (MM) criterion;for LIUs, a novel MM criterion with a tabu list is designed, which can effectively tackle the drawback of assigning shared beams in traditional MM;for HIUs, the incremental algorithm based on the sum-rate maximization criterion is developed to find the optimal beams from CBS. Simulation results validate that the proposed method can achieve almost the same sum-rate performance as the existing methods with the lower computational complexity. © 2023 IEEE.
