Parallel finite element computation of incompressible magnetohydrodynamics based on three iterations

Based on local algorithms,some parallel finite element(FE)iterative methods for stationary incompressible magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)are *** approaches are on account of two-grid skill include two major phases:find the FE solution by solving the nonlinear system on a globally coarse mesh to seize the low frequency component of the solution,and then locally solve linearized residual subproblems by one of three iterations(Stokes-type,Newton,and Oseen-type)on subdomains with fine grid in parallel to approximate the high frequency *** error estimates with regard to two mesh sizes and iterative steps of the proposed algorithms are *** numerical examples are implemented to verify the algorithm.

Zhaotong City is located in the northeast of Yunnan province and used to be called "Zhuti County". Due to the influence of population migration, the Zhaotong dialect has the characteristics of the northern dialect as well as its own unique features. Early research on the tones of Zhaotong dialect relied on traditional language survey methods. In this paper, we use modern methods of speech signal analysis to reanalyze the tones of Zhaotong dialect by means of spectral analysis of sound waveforms, resonance peak analysis, fundamental frequency extraction, etc. combined with the knowledge of experimental phonetics. It is concluded that the Zhaotong dialect consists of four tone categories, namely, Tone1, Tone2, Tone3, and Tone4. Among the single character tones, Tone1 is characterized by a flat tonal pattern;Tone2 is characterized by a descending tonal pattern;Tone3 is characterized by a descending tonal pattern;and Tone4 is characterized by a zigzag tonal pattern. ©2024 IEEE.

The articulation of long and short vowels is not only a change in duration, but also includes changes in the shape of the oral cavity to comprehensively affect the timbre. Since the low-resource phonetic data is very limited, especially the pronunciation of long and short vowels will be affected by the surrounding phonemes or syllables, which makes it difficult for the speech synthesis model to adequately learn and capture the differences of vowels, thus affecting the accuracy and naturalness of the synthesis of long and short vowels. The eastern Yugur language in China belongs to the Mongolian group of the Altaic language family, with an endangered language and limited phonetic resource data. If this endangered language is extinct, it can be restored through speech synthesis. In this article, we analyze the acoustics of long and short vowels in the Eastern Yugur language, and find out the differences in the distribution of acoustic parameters, as well as the differences in the parameters of males and females, so as to provide a reference for the synthesis of the Eastern Yugur language. ©2024 IEEE.

The investigation of the optoelectronic characteristics of all-perovskite tandem solar cells holds pivotal significance in surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit of single-junction perovskite solar cells. Initially, we established two distinct four-terminal tandem solar cells (4T TSCs) composed of different perovskite materials: FA0.8Cs0.2Pb(I0.7Br0.3)3 (Eg = 1.75 eV) and MASnI3 (Eg = 1.3 eV). Through numerical simulations of the optoelectronic characteristics of 4T TSCs, we evaluated the performance of the TSCs at varying perovskite layer thicknesses. Following optimization, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the 4T TSCs increased from the initial 30.34% to 33.54%. Through an in-depth analysis of the cell and energy distribution in TSCs, it was observed that the light-coupling layer significantly influenced the PCE of the 4T TSCs. Upon optimizing the light-coupling layer, the PCE of the TSC increased from the initial 30.34% to 34.7%. This study provides crucial theoretical and experimental foundations for optimizing the performance of all-perovskite TSCs. © 2024 IEEE.

Stochastic SEIR epidemic models with virus mutation and logistic growth of susceptible populations

This article introduces a kind of stochastic SEIR models containing virus mutation and logistic growth of susceptible populations, whose deterministic versions have a positively invariant set and globally asymptotically stable equilibrium points. For these stochastic SEIR epidemic models, we prove they have a unique global positive solution, and also obtain sufficient conditions respectively for survival and extinction of the infectious disease. Eventually, we validate our theoretical findings using numerical simulations. © 2023 International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (IMACS)

Implicit neural representation (INR), sometimes also referred to coordinate-based representation or fitting, has gained the state-of-the-art performance in numerous research fields including computer vision and computer graphics due to the powerful continuous representation ability. Recent researches indicate that Fourier embedding is critical for INR to fit realistic images with high-frequency details. However, is Fourier embedding all we need for high-frequency coordinate (image) fitting? In this paper, we revisit the problem of coordinate fitting from a novel perspective of distribution mapping. Fourier embedding, as a preprocessing step of coordinate fitting, essentially performs the operation of mapping the uniform coordinate distribution to a normal distribution, and makes the learning of mapping function between two similar smooth distribution become easier. However, the number of discrete Fourier basis function affects the fitting performance dramatically and cannot be determined automatically. Based on the above analysis, a simple yet efficient INR coordinate fitting method is proposed in this paper, which demonstrates that the Fourier embedding is not the only way to improve INR. The proposed method only adds an element-wise layer normalization (ELN) module to the vanilla multi-layer perception (MLP) with ReLU activation. Experimental results on public database demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods using Fourier embedding. © 2023 ACM.

Single-image super-resolution (SR) tasks have achieved fancy success in recent years by leveraging deep convolution neural network (CNN). Although CNNs obtain powerful representation capabilities of reconstructing a high-resolution (HR) image from its corresponding low-resolution (LR) observation, it is hard to apply these accomplishments to real world for its large number of parameters that bring about huge computing resource cost. To solve this problem, many researchers turn their directions to lightening the network by delicate designs while keeping the performance in the high level. In this paper, we propose a new method to further reduce the parameters by using the new feature extraction paradigm called Mixer which only contains Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP). Compared to convolutional operations, Mixer operation has the same representation capabilities with fewer parameters. In this paper, three typical lightweight networks, where we replace the convolutional operation with Mixer, are used to show the excellent ability. Our experimental results demonstrate that Mixer can help these lightweight networks further reduce the number of parameters by up to 38% while keep their performance in the same level. © 2023 ACM.

Complex scene generation is an important and challenging image synthesis task. Though latent space based conditional generative methods get impressive results, the accurate locating of objects for more detailed situation and editable contiguous synthesis are still a snag. In addition, previous methods with spatial awareness are easy to lose the location information after a series fusion operation. Focusing on such kind of problems, in this paper we propose an object-wise constraint free and location-lossless way of layout embedding by combining VAE and recent high performance VQGAN to achieve a location accurate and stable synthesis for layouts of complex scene. Instead of conditioning on layout, we apply a pretrained VQGAN to define the latent space and project every region of layout to image latent space directly by aligning their distribution with a novel light Cross-VAE structure. Then the quantization and decoder of VQGAN are reused for synthesis. This VAE plugged into VQGAN framework, which is called Layout-DVGAN in this paper. Experimental results demonstrate our method has competitive performance compared with the approaches which applied explicit spatial awareness way. © 2023 ACM.

The fusion of a low spatial resolution hyperspectral image (LR-HSI) and a high spatial resolution multispectral image (HR-MSI) in the same scene is a common method to get a high spatial resolution hyperspectral image (HR-HSI). For the drawback that the standard nuclear norm regularization treats each singular value equally, this paper proposes a weighted nuclear norm model based on sparse matrix factorization (called WNNS) for hyperspectral image fusion. Specifically, we promote the sparsity of fused images by adding the 1 norm of coefficients. Furthermore, to preserve important data components, we combine with the weighted nuclear norm regularization, where different weights are given to singular values. To efficiently solve the proposed model, we apply an alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). Experiments show that the proposed method has better performances in terms of numerical results and visual effects. © 2023 SPIE.
