A Nonconformal SETI-DP Method for Transient Thermal Simulation

This paper proposes a novel nonconformal meshbased dual-primal spectral element tearing and interconnecting (SETI-DP) method designed for the efficient transient simulation of complex large-scale heat conduction problems utilizing a domain decomposition method (DDM). This method allows for the division of complex, large-scale problems into smaller subdomain problems. By applying Robin-type transmission conditions at the subdomain interfaces, rapid convergence of the global interface iterative solution is achieved for arbitrary non-conformal subdomain problems. This non-conformal DDM approach supports independent meshing of subdomains, eliminating the need to generate a globally continuous mesh for large-scale problems, thereby significantly enhancing meshing efficiency. In addition, this non-conformal meshing strategy enables high-contrast spatial discretization and mixed-order spectral interpolation between different subdomains. This significantly increases meshing flexibility, minimizes the number of degrees of freedom (DoF) in multi-scale problems, and reduces computational costs. In addition, by developing a subdomain-coupled time iteration scheme, the global corner problem of residual transfer is explicitly given, which greatly improves the versatility and flexibility of the algorithm. Finally, to demonstrate the accuracy, efficiency, and robustness of our algorithm, we conduct benchmark tests on several representative examples. © 2011-2012 IEEE.

Multi-objective firefly algorithm with hierarchical learning

In the optimization process of multi-objective firefly algorithm, the population is easy to fall into local optimum, which leads to poor population distribution and convergence. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a multi-objective firefly algorithm with hierarchical learning (MOFA-HL). Firstly, the hierarchical learning method is proposed, population is layered by non-dominant sorting to obtain individuals at each level, and the dominant individuals at the front level guide the individuals at the back level to learn, which is beneficial to search more high-quality solutions. Then, mutation operation is carried out on the population to enhance the local search ability of the algorithm. Finally, the mutated population is merged with the previous generation population, and the excellent individuals with the same population size as the previous generation are selected to enter the next generation by non-dominant sorting and crowding distance calculation. Eight test functions in the series of ZDT and DTLZ are used to test MOFA-HL. MOFA-HL is compared with four classical algorithms and four new algorithms. The results show that MOFA-HL can better improve the distribution and convergence of the population. © 2021 ISSN 2414-8105 (Online).

A non-complete graph is 2-distance-transitive if, for i = 1, 2 and for any two vertex pairs (u1, v1) and (u2, v2) with the same distance i in the graph, there exists an element of the graph automorphism group that maps (u1, v1) to (u2, v2). This is a generalization concept of the classical well-known distance-transitive graphs. Combined model assisted evolutionary algorithm with complementary fill sampling criterion for expensive multi/many-objective optimization

In this paper, we design an algorithm to address the challenges of expensive multi-objective optimization problems by improving the surrogate model and sampling criterion. Firstly, we introduce a combined model which aims to enhance the impact of points that do not play a negative role, thus improving prediction accuracy. Subsequently, we develop two complementary indicators to accommodate various shapes of Pareto frontiers to better balance convergence and diversity in the sampling criterion. Experimental results on several benchmarks show that our proposed method is highly competitive in solving expensive multi-objective optimization problems compared to other state-of-the-art algorithms. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Zhaotong City is located in the northeast of Yunnan province and used to be called “Zhuti County”. Due to the influence of population migration, the Zhaotong dialect has the characteristics of the northern dialect as well as its own unique features. Early research on the tones of Zhaotong dialect relied on traditional language survey methods. In this paper, we use modern methods of speech signal analysis to reanalyze the tones of Zhaotong dialect by means of spectral analysis of sound waveforms, resonance peak analysis, fundamental frequency extraction, etc. combined with the knowledge of experimental phonetics. It is concluded that the Zhaotong dialect consists of four tone categories, namely, Tone1, Tone2, Tone3, and Tone4. Among the single character tones, Tonel is characterized by a flat tonal pattern; Tone2 is characterized by a descending tonal pattern; Tone3 is characterized by a descending tonal pattern; and Tone4 is characterized by a zigzag tonal pattern.

The articulation of long and short vowels is not only a change in duration, but also includes changes in the shape of the oral cavity to comprehensively affect the timbre. Since the low-resource phonetic data is very limited, especially the pronunciation of long and short vowels will be affected by the surrounding phonemes or syllables, which makes it difficult for the speech synthesis model to adequately learn and capture the differences of vowels, thus affecting the accuracy and naturalness of the synthesis of long and short vowels. The eastern Yugur language in China belongs to the Mongolian group of the Altaic language family, with an endangered language and limited phonetic resource data. If this endangered language is extinct, it can be restored through speech synthesis. In this article, we analyze the acoustics of long and short vowels in the Eastern Yugur language, and find out the differences in the distribution of acoustic parameters, as well as the differences in the parameters of males and females, so as to provide a reference for the synthesis of the Eastern Yugur language.

Transformer has achieved excellent performance in the knowledge tracing (KT) task, but they are criticized for the manually selected input features for fusion and the defect of single global context modelling to directly capture students' forgetting behavior in KT, when the related records are distant from the current record in terms of time. To address the issues, this paper first considers adding convolution operations to the Transformer to enhance its local context modelling ability used for students' forgetting behavior, then proposes an evolutionary neural architecture search approach to automate the input feature selection and automatically determine where to apply which operation for achieving the balancing of the local/global context modelling. In the search space design, the original global path containing the attention module in Transformer is replaced with the sum of a global path and a local path that could contain different convolutions, and the selection of input features is also considered. To search the best architecture, we employ an effective evolutionary algorithm to explore the search space and also suggest a search space reduction strategy to accelerate the convergence of the algorithm. Experimental results on the two largest and most challenging education datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the architecture found by the proposed approach.

A broadband transmissive linear-to-circular polarization conversion metamaterial composed of 5-layer '-shaped units was designed, and it was placed directly above the ordinary linear polarization antenna so that the antenna can radiate circular polarization waves. The 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 11.5GHz-14.5GHz, and the relative axial ratio bandwidth reaches 23%, which proves that the polarization conversion surface has good polarization conversion characteristics. © 2021 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

The aim of blind image deconvolution is to reconstruct a clear image from a noisy blurred image when the blur kernel is unknown. The approach for blind image deconvolution could be divided into two steps, including blur kernel estimation as well as non-blind image reconstruction. Especially, the quality of the restored image is significantly influenced by the estimation of the blur kernel. To acquire a more accurate blur kernel, it is essential to get the edge information of the image accurately. In this paper, a novel blind image deconvolution model via an adaptive weighted L0 gradient prior is proposed. Due to the incorporation of the adaptive weighted matrix, our proposed model can more effectively describe the edge information of the image so as to make the estimated blur kernel more accurate. In addition, an efficient algorithm is designed to leverage the sparsity of patch-wise minimal pixels (PMPs) in deblurring. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method when compared to other related blind deconvolution methods. © 2023, International Association of Engineers. The investigation of the optoelectronic characteristics of all-perovskite tandem solar cells holds pivotal significance in surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit of single-junction perovskite solar cells. Initially, we established two distinct four-terminal tandem solar cells (4T TSCs) composed of different perovskite materials: FA 0.8 Cs 0.2 Pb(I 0.7 Br 0.3 ) 3 (E g = 1.75 eV) and MASnI 3 (E g = 1.3 eV). Through numerical simulations of the optoelectronic characteristics of 4T TSCs, we evaluated the performance of the TSCs at varying perovskite layer thicknesses. Following optimization, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the 4T TSCs increased from the initial 30.34% to 33.54%. Through an in-depth analysis of the cell and energy distribution in TSCs, it was observed that the light-coupling layer significantly influenced the PCE of the 4T TSCs. Upon optimizing the light-coupling layer, the PCE of the TSC increased from the initial 30.34% to 34.7%. This study provides crucial theoretical and experimental foundations for optimizing the performance of all-perovskite TSCs.
