Representation of Semantic Word Embeddings Based on SLDA and Word2vec Model

To solve the problem of semantic loss in text representation, this paper proposes a new embedding method of word representation in semantic space called wt2svec based on supervised latent Dirichlet allocation(SLDA) and Word2vec. It generates the global topic embedding word vector utilizing SLDA which can discover the global semantic information through the latent topics on the whole document set. It gets the local semantic embedding word vector based on the Word2vec. The new semantic word vector is obtained by combining the global semantic information with the local semantic information. Additionally, the document semantic vector named doc2svec is generated. The experimental results on different datasets show that wt2svec model can obviously promote the accuracy of the semantic similarity of words,and improve the performance of text categorization compared with Word2vec.

The goal of multilingual modelling is to generate multilingual text representations for various downstream tasks in different languages. However, some state-of-the-art pre-trained multilingual models perform poorly on many low-resource languages due to the lack of representation space and model capacity. To alleviate this issue, we propose a Multilingual model Enhanced with Visual Text Representations (MEVTR), which complements textual representations and extends the multilingual representation space with visual text representations. First, the visual encoder focuses on the glyphs and structure of the text to obtain visual text representations, and the textual encoder obtains textual representations. Then, multilingual representations are enhanced by aligning and fusing visual text representations and textual representations. Moreover, we propose similarity constraint, a self-supervised task to prompt the visual encoder to focus on more additional information. Prefix alignment and multi-head bilinear module are designed to acquire an improved integration effect of visual text representations and textual representations. Experimental results indicate that MEVTR benefits from visual text representations and achieves significant performance gains in downstream tasks. In particular, in the zero-shot cross-lingual transfer task, MEVTR achieves results that outperform the state-of-the-art adapter-based framework without the target language adapter. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Filter bank multicarrier technique (FBMC) is considered as a promising modulation technique suitable for future communications. However, the presence of intrinsic interference prevents the efficient implementation of techniques such as channel estimation. This paper presents a encode double auxiliary pilot channel estimation method (EDAP) for filter bank multicarrier offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC/OQAM) systems. In order to eliminate the intrinsic interference, we add auxiliary symbols around the pilot, and at the same time perform a precoding process to minimize the auxiliary pilot energy loss and computational complexity. In order to validate the above method, the OQAM/FBMC system is modeled. Theoretical analysis and numerical results show that the method improves the channel estimation accuracy by 2.15-3.22 dB in double selective channels while maintaining low power consumption and low complexity. © 2024 IEEE.

The investigation of the optoelectronic characteristics of all-perovskite tandem solar cells holds pivotal significance in surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit of single-junction perovskite solar cells. Initially, we established two distinct four-terminal tandem solar cells (4T TSCs) composed of different perovskite materials: FA0.8Cs0.2Pb(I0.7Br0.3)3 (Eg = 1.75 eV) and MASnI3 (Eg = 1.3 eV). Through numerical simulations of the optoelectronic characteristics of 4T TSCs, we evaluated the performance of the TSCs at varying perovskite layer thicknesses. Following optimization, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the 4T TSCs increased from the initial 30.34% to 33.54%. Through an in-depth analysis of the cell and energy distribution in TSCs, it was observed that the light-coupling layer significantly influenced the PCE of the 4T TSCs. Upon optimizing the light-coupling layer, the PCE of the TSC increased from the initial 30.34% to 34.7%. This study provides crucial theoretical and experimental foundations for optimizing the performance of all-perovskite TSCs. © 2024 IEEE.

Lightweight Food Image Recognition With Global Shuffle Convolution

Consumer behaviors and habits in food choices impact their physical health and have implications for climate change and global warming. Efficient food image recognition can assist individuals in making more environmentally friendly and healthier dietary choices using end devices, such as smartphones. Simultaneously, it can enhance the efficiency of server-side training, thereby reducing carbon emissions. We propose a lightweight deep neural network named Global Shuffle Net (GSNet) that can efficiently recognize food images. In GSNet, we develop a novel convolution method called global shuffle convolution, which captures the dependence between long-range pixels. Merging global shuffle convolution with classic local convolution yields a framework that works as the backbone of GSNet. Through GSNet's ability to capture the dependence between long-range pixels at the start of the network, by restricting the number of layers in the middle and rear, the parameters and floating operation operations (FLOPs) can be minimized without compromising the performance, thus permitting a lightweight goal to be achieved. Experimental results on four popular food recognition datasets demonstrate that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance with higher accuracy and fewer FLOPs and parameters. For example, in comparison to the current state-of-the-art model of MobileViTv2, GSNet achieved 87.9% accuracy of the top-1 level on the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ) Food-101 dataset with 28% reduction in the parameters, 37% reduction in the FLOPs, but a 0.7% more accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

In edge computing, the Zero-Trust Security Model (ZTSM), as a key enabling technology for next-generation networks, plays a crucial role in providing authentication for addressing data sharing concerns, such as frequent data breaches, data misuse, and cyberattacks. However, due to the complexity and diversity of edge environments, ZTSM struggles to meet the security requirements of data sharing frameworks solely through enhanced authentication. Consequently, such frameworks with ZTSM still face challenges in ensuring data integrity, evaluating various node behaviors, and coping with the increasing complexity of node attributes. To address these issues, we propose a blockchain-enabled secure, fair and scalable data sharing framework in a zero-trust edge-end environment in this paper. Specifically, we first propose a Merkle forest-based data storage model for the classified storage of loosely coupled data, consequently enhancing the scalability of the model. Then, we design a node behavior-based reputation assessment mechanism to ensure fairness during data sharing. Moreover, a data sharing protocol supervised by smart contract is proposed, working with the aforementioned storage and assessment schemes, to ensure the security of data sharing. Finally, comprehensive security analysis validates the security, fairness and scalability of the proposed framework. Extensive experimental results show that, as transaction volume grows, the time cost of data traversal in the storage model becomes progressively more efficient. Additionally, when the size of the smart contract is increased tenfold, the maximum time cost of the data sharing protocol rises by only 4.98 times. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

In underground communication systems, continuous mud pulse signals are susceptible to pump noise during transmission, resulting in a high bit error rate(BER). In this paper, a Normal Inner Product Orthogonal Matching Pursuit(NIPOMP) algorithm is proposed for the transmission characteristics of continuous waves in the underground. First, a cyclic prefix(CP) is added in front of the sent data. Then the observation vector is obtained by making a difference between the CP of the latter set of data and the CP of the former set of data. Then, the columns of the sensing matrix that are most correlated with the observation vectors are selected as candidate support sets by calculating the L2 norm. The least squares method was used to solve for the previous set of pump noise estimates. Finally, the pump noise is reconstructed using the correspondence between the time and frequency domains. This paper establishes a complete underground communication system. We discuss the noise characteristics of pump noise and analyze the denoising performance of the NIPOMP algorithm in depth. Simulation results show that the algorithm significantly reduces the system BER in complex channel environments with more drastic fading, including gas-phase, liquid-phase, gas-liquid two-phase, and liquid-solid two-channel environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Event extraction is an important task in natural language processing, and it is widely utilized in intelligence domains such as business and military for information extraction. Recently, many works have successfully transformed document-level event extraction into Question-answering (QA) tasks with remarkable results. This approach embeds event argument information within the questions, introducing prior knowledge into the process. Jin et al. highlighted the importance of high-quality QA pairs for practical QA tasks, emphasizing that constructing these pairs remains a key challenge[1]. In this study, we propose a Prompt-based question generation method to automatically generate questions containing event arguments, which converts event extraction into a QA task. We introduce an event ontology-based information retrieval module to enhance answer accuracy and select the most relevant document segments as input text. Additionally, we employ knowledge distillation to build the QA model, transferring knowledge from a large pre-trained model to a more compact and efficient one, improving the student model's performance. Experiments show that our model performs strongly in mainstream benchmarks, with 4.8 improvements on WikiEvents. © 2024 IEEE.

Weakly supervised 3D semantic segmentation has successfully mitigated the labor-intensive and time-consuming task of annotating 3D point clouds. However, reliably utilizing the minimal point-wise annotations for unlabeled data in complex and large-scale scenes is still challenging, such as only 20 points labeled in 2 million points. To tackle this challenge, we propose a new Uncertainty-aware Superpoint Graph Transformer (UaSGT) framework that utilizes minimal annotations for unlabeled data learning through reliable long-range supervision propagation from labeled superpoints to unlabeled superpoints. First, we propose a superpoint graph transformer to achieve long-range supervision propagation along the attention-based fuzzy subsets defined on superpoints. The attention-based fuzzy subset measures the membership of unlabeled superpoints to clusters centered on labeled superpoints. Second, we employ an uncertainty-aware membership rectification technique on the fuzzy subset to ensure reliable propagation among superpoints within the same category. This technique integrates an uncertainty prediction module to mask the influence of unreliable membership and a spatial prior refinement module to reduce uncertainty in intra-class membership degrees. Finally, experimental results on two large-scale benchmarks S3DIS and ScanNet-V2 demonstrate the superiority of our approach compared to the state-of-the-art with at least 90% annotation reduction, and our method also achieves comparable performance to fully supervised methods with less than 0.1% labeled points.
