Symbol-Level Physical Layer Security Design in Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks

In the down-link secure space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN) with practical discrete modulation symbols, we consider the joint design of the power of satellite and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm beamforming to combat a formidable eavesdropper intercepting both the satellite-to-UAV and UAV-to-ground communication links. Given the challenge posed by the discrete symbols-based joint optimization problem, the security mechanism for SAGIN is developed through alternating optimization. Specifically, the optimal power of satellite is first determined with a fixed UAV beamformer. Based on this power, we propose a pair of solution approaches: convex optimization-based iteration (CObI) and heuristics-based semi-analytic iteration (HbSAI). The former focuses on achieving high performance while the latter emphasizes efficiency. The effectiveness of both CObI and HbSAI methods is validated through simulation results, demonstrating their ability to enhance the achievable secrecy rate. © 2025 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly permeating all aspects of human life, involving a network of devices that share sensitive data. A notable application is the e-healthcare systems, which employ connected sensors, medical servers, and wearable devices. However, the public nature of communication in e-healthcare systems poses challenges such as security, privacy, and authentication of participating entities. Recently, many authentication protocols have been introduced to address these challenges. However, most of these protocols remain vulnerable to various security attacks, including device or medical server impersonation, denial of service, physical or cloning, and de-synchronization attacks. Therefore, we introduce an authenticated key-management protocol utilizing hash functions and Cipher-Block Chaining-Advanced Encryption Standard encryption (CBC-AES) encryption. The proposed protocol also employs the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF), which makes it more robust and efficient in resisting physical or cloning attacks. Additionally, the proposed scheme resists various security threats, including impersonation, session key leakage, ephemeral secret leakage, and de-synchronization attacks. We analyze the scheme’s security and reliability through formal and informal analysis. The informal analysis demonstrates that the scheme encompasses crucial security features, while the formal analysis substantiates. Moreover, performance analysis of the proposed protocol with various competing results indicates that our protocol achieves an average reduction in communication and computation overheads by 36.03.% and 41.79%, respectively. © 2014 IEEE.

Contrastive Learning of Person-independent Representations for Facial Action Unit Detection

Facial action unit (AU) detection, aiming to classify AU present in the facial image, has long suffered from insufficient AU annotations. In this paper, we aim to mitigate this data scarcity issue by learning AU representations from a large number of unlabelled facial videos in a contrastive learning paradigm. We formulate the self-supervised AU representation learning signals in two-fold: (1) AU representation should be frame-wisely discriminative within a short video clip;(2) Facial frames sampled from different identities but show analogous facial AUs should have consistent AU representations. As to achieve these goals, we propose to contrastively learn the AU representation within a video clip and devise a cross-identity reconstruction mechanism to learn the person-independent representations. Specially, we adopt a margin-based temporal contrastive learning paradigm to perceive the temporal AU coherence and evolution characteristics within a clip that consists of consecutive input facial frames. Moreover, the cross-identity reconstruction mechanism facilitates pushing the faces from different identities but show analogous AUs close in the latent embedding space. Experimental results on three public AU datasets demonstrate that the learned AU representation is discriminative for AU detection. Our method outperforms other contrastive learning methods and significantly closes the performance gap between the self-supervised and supervised AU detection approaches. © 2024, CC BY.

In recent years, deep learning methods have been shown to have strong potential and superiority in reducing channel state information (CSI) feedback overhead and further improving feedback accuracy to maximize the performance benefits of massive MIMO in frequency division duplex (FDD) mode. As the CSI matrices are transformed into sequences for input to the Transformer model, the rearrangement leads to the loss of the original physical location relationships. Based on this problem, this paper proposes a transformer decoder based on spatio-temporal joint (ST-T). We employ a spatial attention mechanism to compensate for this information loss and focus on key spatial features more accurately, further exploiting the potential of single- and two-layer transformers in reconstructing CSI matrices. The results are validated by simulations based on DCRNet and CLNet encoders, which show that higher performance can be achieved with lower computational load compared to other lightweight models. © 2024, The Authors. A low coupling sparse array (LCSA) is presented, analyzed and discussed on the basis of the recent proposed uniform linear array (ULA) fitting scheme with close-expressions, and its performance with different uniform subarrays in the basic layer is investigated via parameter estimation like direction-of-arrival(DOA). The results gives a superior performance for the presented LCSA. © 2022 IEEE.

BayLing 2: A Multilingual Large Language Model with Efficient Language Alignment

Large language models (LLMs), with their powerful generative capabilities and vast knowledge, empower various tasks in everyday life. However, these abilities are primarily concentrated in high-resource languages, leaving low-resource languages with weaker generative capabilities and relatively limited knowledge. Enhancing the multilingual capabilities of LLMs is therefore crucial for serving over 100 linguistic communities worldwide. An intuitive approach to enhance the multilingual capabilities would be to construct instruction data for various languages, but constructing instruction data for over 100 languages is prohibitively costly. In this paper, we introduce BayLing 2, which efficiently transfers generative capabilities and knowledge from high-resource languages to low-resource languages through language alignment. To achieve this, we constructed a dataset of 3.2 million instructions, comprising high-resource language instructions (Chinese and English) and cross-lingual instructions for 100+ languages and performed instruction tuning based on the dataset to facilitate the capability transfer between languages. Using Llama as the foundation model, we developed BayLing-2-7B, BayLing-2-13B, and BayLing-2-8B, and conducted a comprehensive evaluation of BayLing. For multilingual translation across 100+ languages, BayLing shows superior performance compared to open-source models of similar scale. For multilingual knowledge and understanding benchmarks, BayLing achieves significant improvements across over 20 low-resource languages, demonstrating its capability of effective knowledge transfer from high-resource to low-resource languages. Furthermore, results on English benchmarks indicate that BayLing maintains high performance in high-resource languages while enhancing the performance in low-resource languages. Masked Image Modeling (MIM) has garnered significant attention in self-supervised learning, thanks to its impressive capacity to learn scalable visual representations tailored for downstream tasks. However, images inherently contain abundant redundant information, leading the pixel-based MIM reconstruction process to focus excessively on finer details such as textures, thus prolonging training times unnecessarily. Addressing this challenge requires a shift towards a compact representation of features during MIM reconstruction. Frequency domain analysis provides a promising avenue for achieving compact image feature representation. In contrast to the commonly used Fourier transform, wavelet transform not only offers frequency information but also preserves spatial characteristics and multi-level features of the image. Additionally, the multi-level decomposition process of wavelet transformation aligns well with the hierarchical architecture of modern neural networks. In this study, we leverage wavelet transform as a tool for efficient representation learning to expedite the training process of MIM. Specifically, we conduct multi-level decomposition of images using wavelet transform, utilizing wavelet coefficients from different levels to construct distinct reconstruction targets representing various frequencies and scales. These reconstruction targets are then integrated into the MIM process, with adjustable weights assigned to prioritize the most crucial information. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves comparable or superior performance across various downstream tasks while exhibiting higher training efficiency. This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the characteristics of overseas cargo on the China-Laos Railway and predicts the future freight trend based on historical data, so as to provide decision-making support for enhancing the influence of the China-Laos Railway freight market and promoting the quality and increment of freight transportation. Firstly, the current situation of cargo transportation were analyzed. Then, by using the K-means cluster analysis method, the cluster analysis of the freight volume of major stations outside the China-Laos Railway was carried out, and the characteristics of freight categories between stations were discussed. Finally, based on the method of time series analysis, the total amount of freight and the total amount of major goods are predicted, so as to reveal the development trend of China-Laos railway freight transportation and provide decision-making support for relevant departments and enterprises to formulate industrial development strategies. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu.
