Open data initiatives have promoted governmental agencies and scientific organizations to publish data online for *** of geoscience focuses on processing georeferenced quantitative data(e.g.,rock parameters,geochemical tests,geophysical surveys and satellite imagery)for discovering new *** knowledge is the cognitive result of human knowledge of the spatial distribution,evolution and interaction patterns of geological objects or *** graphs(KGs)can formalize unstructured knowledge into structured form and have been used in supporting decision-making *** this paper,we propose a novel framework that can extract the geological knowledge graph(GKG)from public reports relating to a modelling *** on the analysis of basic questions answered by geology,we summarize and abstract geological knowledge elements and then explore a geological knowledge representation model with three levels of“geological conceptsgeological entities-geological relations”to describe semantic units of geological knowledge and their logic ***,based on the characteristics of mineral resource reports,the geological knowledge representation model oriented to“object relationships”and the hierarchical geological knowledge representation model oriented to“process relationships”are proposed with reference to the commonly used geological knowledge graph *** research in this paper can provide some implications for the formalization and structured representation of geological knowledge graphs.

Aiming at the problem of low semantic segmentation accuracy of tiny targets in UAV aerial images, a bilateral semantic segmentation network T-BiseNetv2 is proposed. The proposed segmentation network is based on BiseNetv2, and the Transformer structure is introduced into semantic branch, and the detail branch and feature fusion module are reconstructed, which improves the network’s capacity to capture both global context information and local semantic information. Several semantic segmentation experiments are conducted on the standard semantic segmentation dataset UAVID, experimental results show that the proposed semantic segmentation network T-BiseNetv2 has a MIoU of 69.52%, which is about 2.2% higher than the original BiseNetv2 network. Especially, for "Human", the IoU of TBiseNetv2 is about 4.3% higher than that of the popular UNetFormer. © 2023 SPIE.

In English learning, speaking practice is crucial, but traditional classroom teaching can hardly meet the needs of most learners. In this paper, we investigate and improve the two essential techniques of pronunciation error detection and pronunciation quality evaluation in the Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) system. In terms of pronunciation error detection, We extracted phoneme pairs' discriminative acoustic and phonological features. We used Support Vector Machine (SVM) for pronunciation error detection, and the accuracy was improved to 81.26%. For pronunciation quality evaluation, we added two new dimensions of pronunciation fluency and intonation, innovatively designed the word duration ratio, and introduced the Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithm to achieve the effective integration of different dimensional features. The experiments show that the improved pronunciation quality evaluation model has higher performance and practical value. © 2023 IEEE.

Mobile walking assistive robots have been widely used for monitoring patients' gait patterns and providing support to prevent falls. Traditional approaches often separate the operational modes of these robots into human-following and supporting modes, which can lead to discontinuities in assistance and potentially compromise safety. This paper proposes a novel assist-as-needed control strategy that incorporates a Balance Index (BI) to dynamically adjust the robot's support based on the user's balance capability. The BI is calculated using the interaction force between the user and the robot along the z-axis and the gait symmetry index (GSI). The proposed variable admittance controller modifies its parameters based on the BI, ensuring seamless transitions between compliance and support modes. Experimental validation was conducted with a healthy subject walking both with and without a knee fixation brace. The results demonstrate that the robot provides minimal interference during natural gait and increased support during impaired gait, validating the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in enhancing user safety and promoting natural walking patterns. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently,Siamese-based trackers have achieved excellent performance in object ***,the high speed and deformation of objects in the movement process make tracking ***,we have incorporated cascaded region-proposal-network(RPN)fusion and coordinate attention into Siamese *** proposed network framework consists of three parts:a feature-extraction sub-network,coordinate attention block,and cascaded RPN *** exploit the coordinate attention block,which can embed location information into channel attention,to establish long-term spatial location dependence while maintaining channel ***,the features of different layers are enhanced by the coordinate attention *** then send these features separately into the cascaded RPN for classification and *** to the two classification and regression results,the final position of the target is *** verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,we conducted comprehensive experiments on the OTB100,VOT2016,UAV123,and GOT-10k *** with other state-of-the-art trackers,the proposed tracker achieved good performance and can run at real-time speed.

Recently, many compression algorithms are applied to decrease the cost of video storage and transmission. This will introduce undesirable artifacts, which severely degrade visual quality. Therefore, Video Compression Artifacts Removal (VCAR) aims at reconstructing a high-quality video from its corrupted version of compression. Generally, this task is considered as a vision-related instead of media-related problem. In vision-related research, the visual quality has been significantly improved while the computational complexity and bitrate issues are less considered. In this work, we review the performance constraints of video coding and transfer to evaluate the VCAR outputs. Based on the analyses, we propose a Spatial-Temporal Attention-Guided Enhancement Network (STAGE-Net). First, we employ dynamic filter processing, instead of conventional optical flow method, to reduce the computational cost of VCAR. Second, we introduce self-attention mechanism to design Sequential Residual Attention Blocks (SRABs) to improve visual quality of enhanced video frames with bitrate constraints. Both quantitative and qualitative experimental results have demonstrated the superiority of our proposed method, which achieves high visual qualities and low computational costs. © 2023 IEEE.

To solve the problem of semantic loss in text representation, this paper proposes a new embedding method of word representation in semantic space called wt2svec based on supervised latent Dirichlet allocation(SLDA) and Word2vec. It generates the global topic embedding word vector utilizing SLDA which can discover the global semantic information through the latent topics on the whole document set. It gets the local semantic embedding word vector based on the Word2vec. The new semantic word vector is obtained by combining the global semantic information with the local semantic information. Additionally, the document semantic vector named doc2svec is generated. The experimental results on different datasets show that wt2svec model can obviously promote the accuracy of the semantic similarity of words,and improve the performance of text categorization compared with Word2vec.

The production process of keycaps may result in surface character defects. The existing keycap character defect detection technology has low efficiency and accuracy, hindering the automation of keycap manufacturing. Addressing the challenge of extracting the entire keyboard from illuminated regions, this paper proposes a method using image feature points for template matching to extract the region of interest. Subsequently, leveraging prior knowledge, the paper addresses character segmentation and extraction on the keyboard. For character detection, the paper preprocesses images and classifies them by using an S-VGG network, yielding corresponding labels. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Effect of Al on the sealing performance of Al-Al2O3 composite materials for intermediate temperature planar SOFC application

To satisfy the requirements of planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) in reliable gas tightness for the separation of fuel and oxidant, Al-Al2O3 composite seals with various Al amounts of 10–30 wt% are fabricated in this work and afterwards, effect of Al on their thermal expansion behavior and gas leakage rate are investigated at different temperatures. It is demonstrated that the presented Al-Al2O3 composite seal containing 15 wt% Al (denoted as A15) exhibits a low gas leakage rate of 0.021 sccm cm−1 under input gas pressure of 20.7 kPa between 650 °C and 800 °C. Further studies show that stable leakage rates can be maintained below 0.027 sccm cm−1 after enduring 10 thermal cycles or holding for 100 h test at 750 °C, revealing that a small amount of Al addition could significantly improve the sealing performance and thermal cycle stability of Al-Al2O3 composite seal. XRD and SEM results suggest that A15 has excellent structural stability and interfacial chemical compatibility, which can be attributed to the continuous oxidation of Al powders blocking the leakage paths and the formation of the well bonding interface between interconnect/seal/cell anode. It is also found that the open circuit voltage (OCV) of 1-cell stack is 1.13 V at 750 °C for 100 h and undetectable voltage degradation are observed which means the A15 composite seal has excellent gas tightness for 1-cell stack. The experimental results confirm the promising potential of Al-Al2O3 composite seal in SOFC application, which provides a new direction for the development of high performance seal material in the future. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

The details regarding targets within Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery are typically conveyed and maintained in complex-valued form. Namely, the information regarding both the amplitude and phase is essential. In the process of recognizing targets with SAR, the network only utilizes the amplitude image as input, while the phase information is neglected, resulting in poor recognition performance. This paper proposes a Feature Attention Complex-Valued-Based convolutional neural Network (FACV-Net) for SAR ship recognition to overcome these issues, which effectively utilizes phase information to improve target recognition. Firstly, to meet the requirements of network training in complex domains, a series of complex-valued operation blocks have been constructed. Moreover, a new complex-valued Attention Module (CAM) is introduced to ensure that the network focuses on the amplitude and phase characteristics of the target separately. Additionally, to address the mismatch problem between the amplitude and phase data, two distinct methods for complex-valued max-pooling are utilized. Ultimately, the performance of the proposed FACV-Net is assessed using the OpenSARship dataset, and the results indicate that this novel approach surpasses conventional networks in terms of recognition accuracy. When the CAM is added, the performance of the network sees a further enhancement of around 3% in accuracy. These findings confirm the proposed method's effectiveness and advantage over others. © 2024 IEEE.
