A number of solutions have been proposed to tackle the user privacy-preserving issue. Most of existing schemes, however, focus on methodology and techniques from the perspective of data processing. In this paper, we propose a lightweight privacy-preserving scheme for user identity from the perspective of data user and applied cryptography. The basic idea is to break the association relationships between User identity and his behaviors and ensure that User can access data or services as usual while the real identity will not be revealed. To this end, an interactive zero-knowledge proof protocol of identity is executed between CSP and User. Besides, a trusted third-party is introduced to manage user information, help CSP to validate User identity and establish secure channel between CSP and User via random shared key. After passing identity validation, User can log into cloud platform as usual without changing existing business process using random temporary account and password generated by CSP and sent to User by the secure channel which can further obscure the association relationships between identity and behaviors. Formal security analysis and theoretic and experimental evaluations are conducted, showing that the proposal is efficient and practical.

Background The advent of mobile health (mHealth) applications has fundamentally transformed the healthcare landscape, particularly within the field of ophthalmology, by providing unprecedented opportunities for remote diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. Ocular surface diseases, including dry eye disease (DED), are the most common eye diseases that can be detected by mHealth applications. However, most remote artificial intelligence (AI) systems for ocular surface disease detection are predominantly based on self-reported data collected through interviews, which lack the rigor of clinical evidence. These constraints underscore the need to develop robust, evidence-based AI frameworks that incorporate objective health indicators to improve the reliability and clinical utility of remote health applications. Methods Two novel deep learning (DL) models, YoloTR and YoloMBTR, were developed to detect key ocular surface indicators (OSIs), including tear meniscus height (TMH), non-invasive Keratograph break-up time (NIKBUT), ocular redness, lipid layer, and trichiasis. Additionally, back propagation neural networks (BPNN) and universal network for image segmentation (U-Net) were employed for image classification and segmentation of meibomian gland images to predict Demodex mite infections. These models were trained on a large dataset from high-resolution devices, including Keratograph 5M and various mobile platforms (Huawei, Apple, and Xiaomi). Results The proposed DL models of YoloMBTR and YoloTR outperformed baseline you only look once (YOLO) models (Yolov5n, Yolov6n, and Yolov8n) across multiple performance metrics, including test average precision (AP), validation AP, and overall accuracy. These two models also exhibit superior performance compared to machine plug-in models in KG5M when benchmarked against the gold standard. Multiple phase transitions in networks of directed networks

The robustness in real-world complex systems with dependency connectivities differs from that in isolated networks. Although most complex network research has focused on interdependent undirected systems, many real-world networks—such as gene regulatory networks and traffic networks—are directed. We thus develop an analytical framework for examining the robustness of networks made up of directed networks of differing topologies. We use it to predict the phase transitions that occur during node failures and to generate the phase diagrams of a number of different systems, including treelike and random regular (RR) networks of directed Erdős-Rényi (ER) networks and scale-free networks. We find that the the phase transition and phase diagram of networks of directed networks differ from those of networks of undirected networks. For example, the RR networks of directed ER networks show a hybrid phase transition that does not occur in networks of undirected ER networks. In addition, system robustness is affected by network topology in networks of directed networks. As coupling strength q increases, treelike networks of directed ER networks change from a second-order phase transition to a first-order phase transition, and RR networks of directed ER networks change from a second-order phase transition to a hybrid phase transition, then to a first-order phase transition, and finally to a region of collapse. We also find that heterogenous network systems are more robust than homogeneous network systems. We note that there are multiple phase transitions and triple points in the phase diagram of RR networks of directed networks and this helps us understand how to increase network robustness when designing interdependent infrastructure systems.

How to write high-quality news on social network? Predicting news quality by mining writing style

Rapid development of Internet technologies promotes traditional newspapers to report news on social networks. However, people on social networks may have different needs which naturally arises the question: whether can we analyze the influence of writing style on news quality automatically and assist writers in improving news quality? It's challenging due to writing style and 'quality' are hard to measure. First, we use 'popularity' as the measure of 'quality'. It is natural on social networks but brings new problems: popularity are also influenced by event and publisher. So we design two methods to alleviate their influence. Then, we proposed eight types of linguistic features (53 features in all) according eight writing guidelines and analyze their relationship with news quality. The experimental results show these linguistic features influence greatly on news quality. Based on it, we design a news quality assessment model on social network (SNQAM). SNQAM performs excellently on predicting quality, presenting interpretable quality score and giving accessible suggestions on how to improve it according to writing guidelines we referred to. This paper proposes an approach for automatically evaluating summaries based on Semantic Link Network (SLN). Three factors about the quality of summary are taken into account: 1) Fidelity, inspecting whether a summary conveys the core themes of the source text; 2) Conciseness, inspecting the non-redundancy between the sentences of a summary; and, 3) Coherence, inspecting the relevance among all the themes contained in a summary. A summary gets a quality rating based on its performance on the three factors. Experimental results show that the quality ratings of summaries given by our approach are close to the results of manual evaluation.

Sparse representation-based approaches have been successfully applied to remotely sensed hyperspectral image unmixing. In recent years, sparse unmixing techniques have incorporated spatial information into the sparse unmixing model, achieving improved fractional abundance results. Most spatial-based sparse unmixing methods utilize regular-shaped neighborhoods (e.g., a cross or a square window) to characterize the spatial-contextual information around each pixel. However, the spatial characteristics of natural scenes are not always uniform, but vary according to the observed objects. Therefore, assuming uniform spatial neighborhoods may not be consistent with real spatial structures in the scene. Super-pixels offer a good solution to this problem since they can better characterize such spatial structures. Based on this observation, in this paper we develop a new superpixel-guided sparse unmixing (SPGSU) method for hyperspectral scenes. The proposed SPGSU includes the spatial correlation through a superpixel-based technique rather than assuming predefined pixel grids. Each superpixel can be regarded as a small spatial region, whose shape and size can be adaptively changed to accommodate different spatial structures. Our experimental results, conducted using simulated data sets, quantitatively indicate that our newly proposed method produces better results than other advanced spectral unmixing methods.

Learning a Layout Transfer Network for Context Aware Object Detection

We present a context aware object detection method based on a retrieve-and-transform scene layout model. Given an input image, our approach first retrieves a coarse scene layout from a codebook of typical layout templates. In order to handle large layout variations, we use a variant of the spatial transformer network [1] to transform and refine the retrieved layout, resulting in a set of interpretable and semantically meaningful feature maps of object locations and scales. The above steps are implemented as a Layout Transfer Network which we integrate into Faster RCNN [2] to allow for joint reasoning of object detection and scene layout estimation. Extensive experiments on three public datasets verified that our approach provides consistent performance improvements to the state-of-the-art object detection baselines on a variety of challenging tasks in the traffic surveillance and the autonomous driving domains. Rehabilitation of the grasp function of hands is critical for improving the quality of living for those who suffer from lost or weakened hand abilities due to neuromuscular disease. Current finger rehabilitation devices usually need a complex mechanical structure or a larger actuation system, which reduce the portability of the devices for daily living rehabilitation. In this work, we introduced the developing an ultra-light integrated modular finger exoskeleton that driven by a crank-rocker mechanism. The actuator for each joint is directly assembled at each joint by simplifying the structure design, which makes the device portable for patients. All of the parts are manufactured by 3D printing thus to reduce the initial moment of the whole device, the actuator we used is also the ultra-light server motor. The weight of the whole device is just about 60g (including 3 actuators). We analysised the kinematic of the exoskeleton, then a real-Time embedded position tracking control algorithm is implemented on an Arduino board, which is used as the controller. Experimental results show that our device is capable of both positive and active training for finger habilitation. © 2018 IEEE.

On Error Performance and Concatenated Coding of Polar Codes in AWGN Channels

In additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels, construction of polar codes is needed for every operating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Recently, the proposal of the design-SNR reduces the computation effort in constructing polar codes. In this paper, we prove that although the BER performance of the design-SNR construction is not affected, the packet-error-rate (PER) performance is degraded compared with the point-by-point construction. Therefore, a concatenation scheme is proposed to improve the degraded PER performance. Results show the validity of the proposed concatenation scheme when employing the design-SNR construction.

Microfluidic Fabrication of Hierarchical-Ordered ZIF-L(Zn)@Ti3C2TxCore–Sheath Fibers for High-Performance Asymmetric Supercapacitors

We report hierarchical-ordered ZIF−L(Zn)@Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene core–sheath fibers, in which a ZIF−L(Zn) nanowall array sheath is grown vertically on an anisotropic Ti 3 C 2 T x core by Ti−O−Zn/Ti−F−Zn chemical bonds. Through highly efficient microfluidic assembly and microchannel reactions, ZIF−L(Zn)@Ti 3 C 2 T x exhibits well-developed micro-/mesoporosity, ordered ionic pathways, fast interfacial electron conduction and large-scale fabrication, significantly boosting charges dynamic transport and intercalation. The resultant ZIF−L(Zn)@Ti 3 C 2 T x fiber presents large capacitance (1700 F cm −3 ) and outstanding rate performance in a 1 M H 2 SO 4 electrolyte. Additionally, ZIF−L(Zn)@Ti 3 C 2 T x fiber-based solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors deliver high energy density (19.0 mWh cm −3 ), excellent capacitance (854 F cm −3 ), large deformable/wearable capabilities and long-time cyclic stability (20 000 cycles), which realize natural sunlight-induced self-powered applications to drive water level/earthquake alarm devices.
