MXene,a transition metal carbide/nitride,has been prominent as an ideal electrochemical active material for ***,the low MXene load limits its practical *** environmental concerns and sustainable development become more widely recognized,it is necessary to explore a greener and cleaner technology to recycle textile by-products such as *** present study proposes an effective 3D fabrication method that uses MXene to fabricate waste denim felt into ultralight and flexible supercapacitors through needling and *** 3D structure provided more sites for loading MXene onto Z-directional fiber bundles,resulting in more efficient ion exchange between the electrolyte and ***,the carbonization process removed the specific adverse groups in MXenes,further improving the specific capacitance,energy density,power density and electrical conductivity of *** electrodes achieve a maximum specific capacitance of 1748.5 mF cm-2 and demonstrate remarkable cycling stability maintaining more than 94%after 15,000 galvanostatic charge/discharge ***,the obtained supercapacitors present a maximum specific capacitance of 577.5 mF cm^(-2),energy density of 80.2μWh cm^(-2)and power density of 3 mW cm^(-2),*** resulting supercapacitors can be used to develop smart wearable power devices such as smartwatches,laying the foundation for a novel strategy of utilizing waste cotton in a high-quality manner.

Short-term load forecasting of buildings plays a key role in demand management, however, when dealing with massive data, the prevalent practice of training and testing the system as a whole overlooks pattern variations inside data and potentially limits predictive performance. To address this issue, this paper proposes an ensemble deep random vector functional link (edRVFL) model that combines adaptive ensemble clustering and dynamic weighting strategy for load forecasting of an industrial building. Firstly, the adaptive ensemble clustering that combines ordering points to identify the clustering structure and K nearest neighbor is employed to determine the electricity load usage patterns. Subsequently, the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is applied to adjust the weights of load curves in different typical day scenarios. Finally, a dynamic weighting strategy is designed to dynamically assign model weights to two clusters, where one matches the type of predicted load pattern for the day being forecasted and another for the cluster of the previous day. The experiment in a real building verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, which has higher prediction accuracy than other comparison algorithms including one-week interval and different ensemble clustering. © 2024 IEEE.

The metaverse originated from science fiction at first, but it gradually came into reality with the continuous power of technology. Aiming at the problems of course work in Chinese universities, such as its function is weakened or suppressed, its form is too abstract, and it lacks elaborate design, this paper proposes a design method of course work meta-universe based on extended reality under edge computing. XR technology is used to realize the interactive immersion of the coursework meta-universe, in order to improve students’ learning enthusiasm and ability to solve abstract problems. Based on the international perspective, this paper systematically combs and analyzes the integration architecture, application scenarios and future trends of the meta-universe education application based on Edge computing (MEC). Four key processes are described: teacher-student interaction, data collection, data feedback and comprehensive evaluation. In order to promote the application of the metaverse in the field of education to provide mirror. In recent years, gestures have been widely used in many fields. For example, human-computer interaction, virtual reality, gesture translation, etc. The reason for its rapid development is due to the emergence of deep learning and artificial intelligence under today’s society. Due to dynamic gestural interactions, such large intelligent models are often characterized by many parameters, large sample size, frequent parameter updates, and high communication volume. Based on this feature, we propose a cloud-based edge design architecture approach for gesture recognition based on an improved YOLOv5 network model optimization by changing different gestures, background interference, which uses a 21-layer model for the neural network. With the use of edge intelligence, the computational accuracy can be improved by 10.6% over the traditional YOLOv5 with a MAP value of 93.3%. The final recall rate is also improved by 3.6%. The parameter model is only 43.6% of the original one. This shows the practicality and operability of using edge computing as a technique in gesture recognition, as well as the small improvement cost and obvious effect. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

To address the problem that the classification and cleaning of garbage in city streets is always ineffective nowadays, the paper proposes a garbage detection method based on edge intelligence. The edge intelligence not only reduces the computational load of the cloud and speeds up the data transmission, but also greatly reduces the data transmission cost. First, images of city streets are collected and uploaded to the edge device via mobile devices in various locations in the city. Then, the edge server is used to temporarily store the image information, and the PeleeNet model deployed on it is used to identify and classify various kinds of garbage, and then visualize the information of each street. Finally, the street garbage information is transmitted to the cloud, which provides a detailed picture of the city’s garbage situation and facilitates city management. In this paper, the PeleeNet model is compared with ResNet, DenseNet and MobileNet models. The results show that the edge devices equipped with PeleeNet model not only have the fastest computation speed and the highest accuracy, but also occupy the least memory. It is fully demonstrated that the method studied in the paper can be applied to the problem of litter detection in urban streets. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

The refinement and intelligent control of shield tunneling is the development trend of modern tunnel construction technology. In order to better predict and control the surface subsidence caused by shield excavation, this paper takes the shield construction of Luoyang Metro Line 2 from Longmen Station to Longmen Avenue Station as the background, and proposes a method based on edge intelligence for shield construction in water-rich sand egg strata. Methods for predicting land subsidence. First, low latency and faster data processing are achieved by collecting a large amount of data containing dynamic information about geological conditions and surrounding environments during the shield tunneling process;then using the iFogSim simulator to create different configurations;second, establishing support A surface subsidence model based on vector regression was established, and the model was deployed on the edge equipment;finally, the model was evaluated using the monitoring data of surface subsidence of the water-rich sand egg formation in Luoyang area. The research results show that the edge computing-based system has lower latency and higher processing speed than only deploying cloud data centers. After Pearson-related parameter tuning and model comparison training with Linear as the kernel function, the mean square error of the predicted value and the collected value of the surface subsidence is better than the other two kernel functions. The method proposed in this paper can provide real-time prediction service for large-scale surface subsidence prediction caused by shield construction, and is more practical. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Recent advancements in large language models have led to significant improvements in various natural language processing tasks, including automated question answering. However, these models still struggle with providing accurate responses to complex biology questions, such as those found in the National College Entrance Examination. To address this issue, researchers have explored retrieval-augmented generation techniques, which incorporate external knowledge sources to enhance answer accuracy. While these methods have shown promise in improving efficiency, they often lack the ability to perform in-depth analysis of complex questions. In response to these limitations, the paper proposes a novel ReAct agent-based question answering method. This method combines biology textbook document libraries with Google search engine capabilities, leveraging the strengths of large language models. By integrating these components, this method can engage in autonomous decision-making and multi-step reasoning, allowing for a more thorough analysis of complex biology questions. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this new approach. When compared to responses generated directly by ChatGPT and GPT-4o models, the method showed significant improvements in accuracy for biology questions from the National College Entrance Examination. Specifically, the new method achieved accuracy increases of 11.1% and 4.64% over ChatGPT and GPT-4o, respectively. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The semantic segmentation of multimodal remote sensing (RS) images, utilizing optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, has raised attention in recent studies. Advanced studies adaptively modeled and fused modality-share and modality-specific information beneficial for segmentation and achieved competitive performance. However, in challenging scenarios such as low image contrast or blurred textures in optical images and speckle noises or foreshortening in SAR images, modality-specific information may lost. This study proposed a multimodal feature decomposition and fusion network (MDFNet) designed for multimodal RS image semantic segmentation using optical and SAR images. By decomposing multimodal features into modality-share and modality-difference features and applying gradient descent on modality-difference features, modality-specific information beneficial for segmentation can be retained. Specifically, we designed a MDF decoder with MDF blocks. MDF block maps multimodal features into the same feature space and calculates the difference of multimodal features to obtain modality-share and modality-difference features respectively, then fuses these features. MDF decoder optimizes modality-difference features by gradient descent using adaptive modeling, thereby retaining modality-specific information that is beneficial for segmentation. Comprehensive experiments conducted on the DFC20 dataset demonstrated that the proposed MDFNet surpasses representative methods.

An edge detection technology based on the combination of non-downsampling contour wave transform (NSCT) and tensor voting is proposed, which aims to obtain more accurate and detailed edge information of buildings in remote sensing images. Firstly, NSCT is used for image decomposition to obtain the subband frequency information of different scales and angles. Then, position encoding is performed on these subband coefficients to obtain second-order symmetric tensors at the corresponding positions. Tensors of different scales and angles at the same position are weighted and summed to complete feature fusion. Finally, the edge features of the image are obtained based on tensor voting theory. The experimental results show that compared to common edge detection technologies, such as Canny, Fast Edge (Fast edge detection using structured forests) and HED (Holistically-Nested Edge Detection), our method can more accurately and intensively reflect the boundaries of buildings and the edge information of roofs, providing better support for the analysis of building types and architectural styles. Compared to the HED method, which is based on deep learning, our method improves PSNR and SSIM metrics by 0.98 and 0.03, respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the industrial domain, surface defect detection after multiple processing steps is crucial for improving the outgoing quality of products. However, due to the characteristics of surface defects, such as low contrast, irregular shapes, small and elongated features, and significant noise. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel real-time high-resolution network (RHNet). Unlike previous models, RHNet emphasizes the importance of modeling spatial information to capture small defects. Therefore, the output feature maps of each module are maintained at 1/4 resolution of the original image. We introduce a short-term dual-branch module (SDBM) to handle real-time processing of high-resolution feature maps. Additionally, FPAPPM is proposed for swift extraction of deep information and multi-scale context. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that our proposed model exhibits robust defect modeling capabilities and detection performance while still meeting real-time requirements. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
