This paper introduces a preconditioned method designed to comprehensively address the saddle point system with the aim of improving convergence efficiency. In the preprocessor construction phase, a technical approach for solving the approximate inverse matrix of sparse matrices is presented. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through numerical examples, emphasizing its efficacy in approximating the inverse matrix. Furthermore, the preprocessing technology includes a low-rank processing step, effectively reducing algorithmic complexity. Numerical experiments validate the effectiveness and feasibility of PSLR-GMRES in solving the saddle point system. © 2024, CC BY.

With the development of artificial intelligence, pulse diagnosis has been standardized and objectified. However, there is a lack of research on the extraction and dimensionality reduction of hypertensive pulse features. We propose two effective features for distinguishing pulses of disease samples and a fusion dimensionality reduction method that combines linear and nonlinear dimensionality reduction. The results show that the proposed features and dimensionality reduction method make the classification accuracy of hypertension pulse feature reach 94.23%, and the training time of the classifier is reduced by 47 seconds, which improves the performance in terms of both accuracy and time. © 2022 ACM.

This technical note presents a counterexample showing that the equivalence conditions proposed by Geng et al. (IEEE Trans. Automat. Control, 2024), which use a minimum-order compensator (MOC) to achieve desired designs, including generalized regularity or both generalized regularity and free of impulse, are sufficient but not necessary. Furthermore, revised equivalence conditions are introduced, along with an equivalence condition ensuring the closed-loop system remains generalized regular, impulse-free, and stable using MOC. Additionally, it is shown that output feedback can replace the MOC, achieving the same design without increasing dimensionality. Cognitive diagnosis plays a vital role in modern intelligent education platforms to reveal students’ proficiency in knowledge concepts for subsequent adaptive tasks. However, due to the requirement of high model interpretability, existing manually designed cognitive diagnosis models hold too simple architectures to meet the demand of current intelligent education systems, where the bias of human design also limits the emergence of effective cognitive diagnosis models. In this paper, we propose to automatically design novel cognitive diagnosis models by evolutionary multiobjective neural architecture search (NAS). Specifically, we observe existing models can be represented by a general model handling three given types of inputs and thus first design an expressive search space for the NAS task in cognitive diagnosis. Then, we propose multi-objective genetic programming (MOGP) to explore the NAS task’s search space by maximizing model performance and interpretability. In the MOGP design, each architecture is transformed into a tree architecture and encoded by a tree for easy optimization, and a tailored genetic operation based on four sub-genetic operations is devised to generate offspring effectively. Besides, an initialization strategy is also suggested to accelerate the convergence by evolving half of the population from existing models’ variants. Experiments on two real-world datasets demonstrate that the cognitive diagnosis models searched by the proposed approach exhibit significantly better performance than existing models and also hold as good interpretability as human-designed models. Multi-level fusion with fine-grained alignment for multimodal sentiment analysis

Multimodal sentiment analysis (MSA) integrates and processes data from multiple sources, like audio and text, to better understand human emotions through cross-modal interactions. The effective acquisition and integration of meaningful features for constructing richer sentiment representations remains a key challenge in MSA. Most existing methods directly obtain global representations and integrate at the utterance level from different modalities, but this ignores fine-grained representations and makes it difficult to capture intricate relationships within and between modalities. Therefore, we propose a novel method, Fine-grained Multimodal Fusion Network (MMTA). Firstly, a Fine-grained Alignment (FGA) module is introduced to align and extract word-level features to bridge heterogeneous modal gaps. FGA enables word-level alignment between audio, text, and their corresponding contextual information using the Montreal Forced Aligner (MFA). Secondly, a Multi-level Fusion module (MLF) is designed, which captures more cross-modal interaction through three stages: Local-Local Interaction, Local-Global Interaction, and Similarity-weighted Representation Adjustment. Finally, an Attention Fusion Network(AFN) module is developed to capture both inter- and intra-modal correlations, enabling the generation of consistent multimodal representations. Extensive evaluations on widely used MSA datasets, CMU-MOSI and CMU-MOSEI, indicate that our method outperforms prior baselines and validates the effectiveness of the fine-grained alignment and the multi-level fusion for improving multimodal sentiment analysis performance.

Adding subtle perturbations to an image can cause the classification model to misclassify, and such images are called adversarial examples. Adversarial examples threaten the safe use of deep neural networks, but when combined with reversible data hiding (RDH) technology, they can protect images from being correctly identified by unauthorized models and recover the image lossless under authorized models. Based on this, the reversible adversarial example (RAE) is rising. However, existing RAE technology focuses on feasibility, attack success rate and image quality, but ignores transferability and time complexity. In this paper, we optimize the data hiding structure and combine data augmentation technology, which flips the input image in probability to avoid overfitting phenomenon on the dataset. On the premise of maintaining a high success rate of white-box attacks and the image’s visual quality, the proposed method improves the transferability of reversible adversarial examples by approximately 16% and reduces the computational cost by approximately 43% compared to the state-of-the-art method. Characterization of Plotkin-optimal two-weight codes over finite chain rings and related applications

Few-weight codes over finite chain rings are associated with combinatorial objects such as strongly regular graphs (SRGs), strongly walk-regular graphs (SWRGs) and finite geometries, and are also widely used in data storage systems and secret sharing schemes. The first objective of this paper is to characterize all possible parameters of Plotkin-optimal two-homogeneous weight regular projective codes over finite chain rings, as well as their weight distributions. We show the existence of codes with these parameters by constructing an infinite family of two-homogeneous weight codes. The parameters of their Gray images have the same weight distribution as that of the two-weight codes of type SU1 in the sense of Calderbank and Kantor (Bull Lond Math Soc 18: 97-122, 1986). Further, we also construct three-homogeneous weight regular projective codes over finite chain rings combined with some known results. Finally, we study applications of our constructed codes in secret sharing schemes and graph theory. We present a no-reference image-quality - assessment algorithm based on active reasoning module. This algorithm has three modules: the feature extraction module, the active reasoning module, and the quality assessment module. The active reasoning module incorporates the generator component of the generative adversarial network and enhances its structure with the Res2Net architecture. By integrating this module into the backbone feature extraction network, we improve the receptive field of each convolutional layer, enabling the network to capture information at different scales of the image. To preserve the texture information of the image, we input the gradient map of the distorted image, the distorted image itself, and the image features generated by the generator into the quality assessment module, which has a multi-feature regression networks. This module establishes a mapping model from image-feature to image-quality scores. We conducted experimental analysis of this algorithm on three widely used public datasets, confirming the excellent performance and superiorities of the presented algorithm. The results validate the effectiveness of the designed algorithm and its ability to assess image quality accurately. © 2023 IEEE.

Federated learning-based model marketplaces have the potential to securely leverage healthcare data for efficient healthcare transactions. However, the willingness to participate in this marketplace is severely hindered by self-interested model sellers, who maximize their personal gains via distorting the quality of their models. To this end, we propose a rePutation-driven hierArchical inCentive mEchanism, called PACE, which combines contract cooperation and game pricing to motivate model sellers to be honest, thereby improving the sustainability of the model marketplace via two-layer cooperation. Specifically, at the training layer, we design a reward payment rule based on multidimensional contracts, while at the trading layer, we use a competitive market pricing game to develop the accuracy pricing rule. In particular, the above rules cleverly combine the fine-grained model sellers' reputations with the willingness of healthcare devices to indirectly affect the model sellers' utilities. Theoretically, we prove that PACE can effectively incentivize model sellers to truthfully report model quality while satisfying both individual rationality and incentive compatibility with a fairness guarantee. Experimental results conducted on four real-world datasets show that our PACE improves the global performance by up to 12.85% and reduces the global loss by at least 19.23% compared with the state-of-the-art baselines. © 1975-2011 IEEE.
