High concentration of Ti^(3+)in C-TiO_(x)nanosheets boosting efficient photodegradation

Semiconductor photocatalysis holds significant promise for addressing dye-pollution in ***,the efficiency of photocatalytic water purification is constrained by the weak light absorption capacity and low active site distribution of *** a bottom-up approach,carbon-doped TiO_(x)(C-TiO_(x))nanosheets with high concentrations of Ti^(3+)active sites were fabricated by etching the Al element in Ti_(3)Ai C_(2)with H_(2)O_(2).Experimental evidence demonstrates that the optimal C-TiO_(x)nanosheets exhibit high activity for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue,achieving a degradation rate of 100%within 50 *** introduction of carbon into the C-TiO_(x)nanosheets induces a red shift in the absorption edge,boosting the migration of photo-generated charge ***,there is a significant correlation between the concentration of Ti^(3+)active sites and the density of oxygen vacancies in the C-TiO_(x)nanosheets,which synergistically influence the photocatalytic degradation performance of MB dye wastewater.

Universal transfer of full-class metal electrodes for barrier-free two-dimensional semiconductor contacts

Metal–semiconductor contacts are crucial components in semiconductor *** two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenide semiconductors can sustain transistor scaling for next-generation integrated ***,their performance is often degraded by conventional metal deposition,which results in a high barrier due to chemical disorder and Fermi-level pinning(FLP).Although,transferring electrodes can address these issues,they are limited in achieving universal transfer of full-class metals due to strong adhesion between pre-deposited metals and ***,we propose a nanobelt-assisted transfer strategy that can avoid the adhesion limitation and enables the universal transfer of over 20 different types of *** contacts obey the Schottky–Mott rule and exhibit a FLP of S=*** the electron and hole contacts show record-low Schottky barriers of 4.2 and 11.2 meV,*** a demonstration,we construct a doping-free WSe_(2) inverter with these high-performance contacts,which exhibits a static power consumption of only 58 *** strategy provides a universal method of electrode preparation for building high-performance post-Moore electronic devices.

Chiral multiple-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials based on chiral spiro-axis skeleton for efficient circularly polarized electroluminescence

Chiral luminescence materials have potential applications in the field of three-dimensional displays due to their circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)***,the further development of circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs)needs to meet the requirements of high efficiency,high color purity,low cost,and high dissymmetry factor(gPLor gEL),chiral multiple resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence(MR-TADF)materials are considered as candidates in these ***,based on a pair of chiral spirofluorene precursors,two pairs of high-performance chiral MR-TADF emitters((R/S)-p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and(R/S)-m-Spiro-DtBuCzB)are developed,which exhibit strong emissions peaking at 491 and 502 nm in toluene with full-width at half-maximum values of 25 and 33 nm,*** addition,small singlet–triplet energy gaps of 0.15 and 0.10 eV with high absolute photoluminescence efficiencies of 95.0%and 96.7%are observed for p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and m-Spiro-DtBuCzB molecules,*** based on p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and m-Spiro-DtBuCzB display high maximum external quantum efficiencies of 29.6%and 33.8%,*** importantly,CP-OLEDs present symmetric circularly polarized electroluminescence spectra with|gEL|factors of 3.36×10^(-4)and 7.66×10^(-4)for devices based on(R/S)-p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and(R/S)-m-Spiro-DtBuCzB enantiomers,respectively.

Activated carbon induced oxygen vacancies-engineered nickel ferrite with enhanced conductivity for supercapacitor application

NiFe_(2)O_(4) is a kind of bimetallic oxide possessing excellent theoretical capacity and application prospect in the field of ***,due to the inherent poor conductivity of metal oxides,the performance of NiFe_(2)O_(4) is not ideal in *** vacancies can not only enhance the conductivities of NiFe_(2)O_(4) but also provide better adsorption of OH,which is beneficial to the electrochemical ***,oxygen vacancies engineered NiFe_(2)O_(4)(NiFe_(2)O_(4)‒δ)is obtained through a two-step method,including a hydrothermal reaction and a further heat treatment in activated carbon *** of electron paramagnetic resonance spectra indicate that more oxygen vacancies exist in the treated NiFe_(2)O_(4)‒δthan the original ***-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra prove that the treated NiFe_(2)O_(4)‒δowns better conductivity than the original NiFe_(2)O_(4).As for the electrochemical performances,the treated NiFe_(2)O_(4)‒δperforms a high specific capacitance of 808.02 F∙g^(‒1) at 1 A∙g^(‒1).Moreover,the asymmetric supercapacitor of NiFe_(2)O_(4)‒δ//active carbon displays a high energy density of 17.7 Wh∙kg^(‒1) at the power density of 375 W∙kg^(‒1).This work gives an effective way to improve the conductivity of metal oxides,which is beneficial to the application of metal oxides in supercapacitors.

Promoting exciton dissociation by metal ion modification in polymeric carbon nitride for photocatalysis

Carbon nitride,a typical low-dimensional conjugated polymer photocatalyst,features a high exciton binding energy due to the weak dielectric screening and the strong Coulombic attraction of photogenerated electrons and *** reduction of the exciton binding energy of carbon nitride to promote the conversion from excitons into free carriers is the first priority for the improvement of charge-transfer-dependent photocatalytic reaction *** this paper,by introducing a variety of polar metal cations to carbon nitride,it is demonstrated that the charge distribution of the heptazine ring can be improved by ion polarization,which effectively promotes the dissociation of excitons into electrons and *** sodium ion shows the best modification effect,which enhances the rate of both photocatalytic hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide production by about 50%.Characterization shows that the introduction of strongly polar metal cations contributes to the reduction of the exciton dissociation energy of carbon *** study provides a new perspective and a convenient method for the exciton modulation engineering of low-dimensional photocatalysts.

Technical factors affecting the performance of anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer

Anion exchange membrane(AEM)electrolysis is a promising membrane-based green hydrogen production ***,AEM electrolysis still remains in its infancy,and the performance of AEM electrolyzers is far behind that of well-developed alkaline and proton exchange membrane ***,breaking through the technical barriers of AEM electrolyzers is *** the basis of the analysis of the electrochemical performance tested in a single cell,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and the number of active sites,we evaluated the main technical factors that affect AEM *** factors included catalyst layer manufacturing(e.g.,catalyst,carbon black,and anionic ionomer)loadings,membrane electrode assembly,and testing conditions(e.g.,the KOH concentration in the electrolyte,electrolyte feeding mode,and operating temperature).The underlying mechanisms of the effects of these factors on AEM electrolyzer performance were also *** irreversible voltage loss in the AEM electrolyzer was concluded to be mainly associated with the kinetics of the electrode reaction and the transport of electrons,ions,and gas-phase products involved in *** on the study results,the performance and stability of AEM electrolyzers were significantly improved.

MXene nanomaterials are one of the most promising electrode material candidates for supercapacitors owing to their high conductivity,abundant surface functional groups and large surface ***,electrodes based on MXene may result in low ion-accessible surface area and blocked ion transport pathways because of the self-restacking of MXene *** is essential to suppress the self-res tacking of nanosheets and increase the electrochemical active sites in order to optimize the *** this work,bidirectionally aligned MXene hybrid aerogel(A-MHA)assembled with MXene nanosheets and microgels is prepared using a facile bidirectional freeze casting and freeze-drying *** bidirectionally aligned structure together with the three-dimensional structured microgels in the A-MHAs,can improve the ionaccessible surface area and provide more barrier-free channels by exposing more active sites and ensuring electrolyte transport *** A-MHA with MXene microgels content of 40 wt%exhibits a high specific capacitance of 760 F·g^(-1)at 1 A·g^(-1)and a remarkable cyclic performance of 97%after 10,000 cycles at100 mV·s^(-1)in 1 mol·L^(-1)H_(2)SO_(4)electrolyte.A-MHAs show remarkable electrochemical properties and are of potential application in energy storage.

Sulfur dioxide(SO_(2))frequently coexist with volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in exhaust *** competitive adsorption of SO_(2) and VOCs can adversely affect the efficiency of catalytic combustion,leading to catalyst poisoning and irreversible loss of *** investigate the impact of sulfur poisoning on the catalysts,we prepared the MnO_(2)/Beta zeolite,and a corresponding series of sulfur-poisoned catalysts through in-situ thermal decomposition of(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4).The decrease in toluene catalytic activity of poisoned MnO_(2)/Beta zeolite primarily results from the conversion of the active species MnO_(2) to MnSO_(4).However,the crystal structure and the porous structure of MnO_(2)/Beta zeolite were stable,and original structure was still maintained when 1.6%(mass)sulfur species were ***,the extra-framework Al of Beta zeolite could capture sulfur species to generate Al2(SO_(4))_(3),thereby reducing sulfur species from reacting with Mn^(4+) active *** combination of sulfur and Beta zeolite was found to directly produce new strong-acid sites,thus effectively compensating for the effect of reduced Mn4+active species on the catalytic activity.

Microstructure uniformity of the Al-Nd target materials with Al11Nd3 significantly affects the performance of the fabricated Al-Nd film,which is widely used as wiring material in large-size thin-film transistor liquid crystal display(TFT-LCD)*** the inherent mechanical properties and chemical bonds of Al11Nd3 is crucial for homogenizing the Al-Nd ***,by a combined experimental and ab-initio theoretical study,the microstructure and deformability of the Al-3wt％Nd alloy and the inherent mechanical properties and chemical bonds of Al11Nd3 were investigated *** Al-3wt％Nd alloy is composed of the pre-eutectic α-Al matrix and the eutectic α-Al and a high stable α-Al11Nd3 *** the plastic deformation,the eutectic microstructure transforms from a cellular to a lamel-lar shape,while the morphology and dimension of α-Al11Nd3 are not changed *** examin-ing ideal tensile strength,elastic moduli,hardness and brittleness-ductility,the hardness-brittleness ofα-Al11Nd3 is quantitatively evaluated,accounting for its difficulties of plastic deformation and *** band structure,population analysis,topological analysis and crystal orbital Hamilton population,we found that α-Al11Nd3 possesses two types of chemical bonds:the Nd-Al and Al-Al *** former is a typical ionic bond with electron transfer from Nd to Al,while the latter,dominated by both 3s-3p and 3p-3p interactions,is a weak covalent *** mixed chemical bond is responsible for the high hardness-brittleness of α-*** work is expected to lay a foundation for Al-Nd alloy and catalyze the fabrication of high-quality Al-Nd target materials.
