The generation of a virtual digital avatar is a crucial research topic in the field of computer vision. Many existing works utilize Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) to address this issue and have achieved impressive results. However, previous works assume the images of the training person are available and fixed while the appearances and poses of a subject could constantly change and increase in real-world scenarios. How to update the human avatar but also maintain the ability to render the old appearance of the person is a practical challenge. One trivial solution is to combine the existing virtual avatar models based on NeRF with continual learning methods. However, there are some critical issues in this approach: learning new appearances and poses can cause the model to forget past information, which in turn leads to a degradation in the rendering quality of past appearances, especially color bleeding issues, and incorrect human body poses. In this work, we propose a maintainable avatar (MaintaAvatar) based on neural radiance fields by continual learning, which resolves the issues by utilizing a Global-Local Joint Storage Module and a Pose Distillation Module. Overall, our model requires only limited data collection to quickly fine-tune the model while avoiding catastrophic forgetting, thus achieving a maintainable virtual avatar. La0.8Sr0.2CrO3-ITO thermocouples were successfully fabricated by screen printing. The La0.8Sr0.2CrO3 powder used for screen printing was obtained by the sol-gel method. The highest thermal voltage output was maintained at 270 mV at 1270°C. The microstructure of La0.8Sr0.2CrO3 and ITO electrode films were analysed by SEM. Thermoelectric response test was implemented to measure the performance of La0.8Sr0.2CrO3-ITO thermocouple by three times of thermal cycles. The results indicated that La0.8Sr0.2CrO3-ITO thermocouple showed good stability at high temperature. Copyright © 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Single materials that exhibit efficient and stable white-light emission are highly desirable for lighting *** paper reports a novel zero-dimensional perovskite,Rb_(4)CdCl_(6):Sn^(2+),Mn^(2+),which demonstrates exceptional white-light properties including adjustable correlated color temperature,high color rendering index of up to 85,and near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield of 99%.Using a co-doping strategy involving Sn^(2+)and Mn^(2+),cyan-orange dual-band emission with complementary spectral ranges is activated by the self-trapped excitons and d-d transitions of the Sn^(2+)and Mn^(2+)centers in the Rb_(4)CdCl_(6)host,***,although Mn^(2+)ions doped in Rb_(4)CdCl_(6)are difficult to excite,efficient Mn^(2+)emission can be realized through an ultra-high-efficient energy transfer between Sn^(2+)and Mn^(2+)via the formation of adjacent exchange-coupled Sn–Mn *** from this efficient Dexter energy transfer process,the dual emission shares the same optimal excitation wavelengths of the Sn^(2+)centers and suppresses the non-radiative vibration relaxation ***,the relative intensities of the dual-emission components can be modulated flexibly by adjusting the fraction of the Sn^(2+)ions to the Sn–Mn *** co-doping approach involving short-range energy transfer represents a promising avenue for achieving high-quality white light within a single material.

Regioselective Modification at the 2,3- and 6-Positions of Chitosan with Phenylcarbamates for Efficient Chromatographic Enantioseparation

Chitosan derivatives were synthesized with regioselective phenylcarbamate pendants at the 2,3- and 6-positions of a glucose unit, utilizing triphenylmethyl as a protective group. The regioselective chitosan derivatives were prepared corresponding coated-type chiral packed materials (CPMs), which were evaluated with thirteen chiral compounds by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The regioselectively substituted chitosan derivatives fearing electron-withdrawing 3,5-chloro or 4-chlorophenylcarbamates at 6-position exhibited relatively better chiral recognition abilities than the other derivatives with the different substituents at 6-postion and but the same 3,5-dimethylphenyl substituent at the 2,3-postion. In comparison to Chit-1 featuring a 3,5-dimethylphenyl substituent at the 2,3- and 6-positions, it was observed that the incorporation of both an electron-withdrawing and an electron-donating substituent did not yield a substantial enhancement in enantioselectivity on chiral packed- materials (CPMs) due to the perturbation of the electron cloud of the carbamate groups. The augmentation of molecular weight in chitosan derivatives resulted in an improvement in both regularity and interaction strength, thereby facilitating the enantioseparation of certain racemic compounds. Both experimental and molecular docking simulation results showed that an excellent enantioseparation depends on the molecular weight of derivatives and the combination of nature, steric hindrance, position, and polarity of the substituents on the CPMs and enantiomers. © 2023, The Authors. Antibacterial finishing of compression fabrics based on Ti3C2Tx-APTES material

Patients with hyperplastic scarring need to wear compression garments for long periods of time during treatment with compression therapy. Compression garment fabrics (CGFs) are prone to bacterial growth during use, leading to patient infections. It is essential to apply antibacterial functional finishing to the CGFs. In this study, antibacterial CGFs based on Ti3C2Tx and amino-functionalized silane coupling agent (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane composite material (APTES) were prepared by dip-coating method. The binding mechanism between the Ti3C2Tx-APTES and the CGF was explored, and the antibacterial rate, wash fastness, and wearability of the antibacterial fabric were investigated. The addition of APTES resulted in the formation of covalent bonds between the CGF and the antibacterial agent. The unwashed CGF exhibited antibacterial rates of 99.9% against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus, AATCC 25922) and 99.76% against Escherichia coli (E. coli, AATCC 6538), respectively. The wash fastness of antibacterial CGF met industry standard AA level, and the wearability of the treated fabric could basically satisfy daily wear requirements. The Ti3C2TX-APTES antimicrobial CGF prepared in this study provides an effective solution for the development of antimicrobial fabrics for sports and medical applications. © 2024

The growing need for customized and varied production has highlighted the significance of smart and automated factories in the manufacturing sector. In this particular context, the scheduling of multiple Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of operations within an intelligent manufacturing shop. This study centers on the material handling process within a matrix manufacturing shop with the objective of identifying the most cost-effective transportation routes for materials. To accomplish the specified objective, this research aims to identify an optimal solution for reducing transportation costs. In particular, this study formulates a mixed-integer linear programming model and introduces a novel discrete variant of the moth-flame optimization (MFO) algorithm, named DMFO, to address the scheduling problem. The DMFO algorithm incorporates several significant enhancements. Firstly, a population initialization method is proposed, which combines a nearest-neighbor-based adaptive heuristic and a random sorting technique to ensure the formation of a well-structured population. Secondly, the flame generation mechanism and spiral flight search processes within the MFO have been redefined to achieve a more optimal balance between exploration and exploitation. A neighborhood search mechanism is subsequently devised, employing the concept of neighborhood relevance to accelerate the convergence process. Additionally, a heuristic approach is introduced to reduce the computational cost. Moreover, a population regeneration mechanism is proposed to avoid the algorithm falling into a local optimum. To validate the effectiveness of the DMFO, a comparative analysis is conducted using a dataset of 110 real-world factory instances. In this analysis, eight well-established optimization algorithms are employed. The operation of modern society and the advancement of the electric vehicle industry are intrinsically linked to high-performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, the inherent structural instability of traditional cathode materials under high voltage (high capacity) and rapid charging conditions leads to swift degradation of battery voltage and capacity. This significantly impedes the commercialization of LIBs and contributes to issues such as “range anxiety”. Currently, the failure mechanisms of cathode materials remain highly debated, with most research focusing on material modification and interfacial transport kinetics. Recent studies indicate that the accumulation of nanoscale strain and lattice displacement within cathode materials are critical driving forces behind structural degradation and oxygen loss. Despite their fundamental importance, lattice displacements and nanoscale strain remain among the least understood structural characteristics in battery materials. This review highlights the latest research advancements concerning the electrochemical–mechanical coupling mechanisms and advanced modification strategies of cathode materials. We begin by elucidating the electrochemical–mechanical failure mechanisms of cathode materials, spanning from the atomic to the macroscopic scale, and the interconnections among various failure mechanisms, with particular emphasis on lattice defects and microscopic mechanical anisotropy. Subsequently, we discuss advanced strategies and recent progress in modifying layered oxide cathode materials, which hold promise for furthering the development of the new energy industry. Finally, in the context of a carbon-neutral future and the evolving high-performance electric vehicle industry, we summarize and provide insights into the application prospects and developmental directions of layered oxide cathode materials from perspectives of cost, performance, safety, and environmental friendliness.

Solar thermal desalination(STD)is a promising and sustainable technology for extracting clean water *** recent studies to improve STD performance primarily focus on interfacial solar evaporation,a non-traditional bottom heating method was designed in this ***,we prepared the polyvinyl alcohol/graphene oxide(PVA-GO)composite membrane and adhered to the bottom of a beaker using crystallized *** GO was loaded on a non-woven fabric and different concentrations of PVA were compared for their effect on the evaporation *** results showed that the addition of PVA increased the evaporation *** surface characteristic of GO membrane without PVA was a fibrous filamentous structure as observed by SEM,whereby the fibers were clearly *** the PVA concentration reached 6%,the non-woven fiber was completely wrapped by *** the action of a fixed light intensity,the photothermal conversion rates of GO,2%PVA-GO,4%PVA-GO and 6%PVA-GO membrane device could reach 39.93%,42.61%,45.10%and 47.00%,respectively,and the evaporation rates were 0.83,0.88,0.94 and 0.98 kg$m-2$h-1,*** addition,the PVA-GO composite membrane showed an excellent stability,which has significance for industrial application.

The ambient printing of high-performance and stable perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is crucial for enabling low-cost and energy-efficient industrial fabrication. However, producing high-quality perovskite films via ambient printing remains challenging due to direct exposure to air, which easily induces additional stacking defects and triggers perovskite degradation compared to films fabricated by traditional spin-coating under inert conditions. Here, a multiple molecular interaction strategy is introduced to address this challenge by incorporating a 2-thiazole formamidine hydrochloride (TC) additive, effectively suppressing defect formation during ambient printing. The specific interactions between TC and precursor components, i.e., multiple hydrogen bonds and coordination interactions, could promote the crystallization of α-phase perovskites and reduce cation and anion vacancies simultaneously when drying in air. These endows high-quality ambient-printed perovskite films with large crystalline grains with eliminated nanovoids and low trap-densities, which improve charge carrier dynamics and prevent perovskite decomposition and hydration under thermal/humidity stress during long-term annealing/ambient storage. The unencapsulated PSCs show a high efficiency of 23.72% with good stability, i.e., realizing 92% and 95% efficiency retention after 672 h of annealing at 85 °C in a N2 atmosphere and after 2088 h of storage in ambient air. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.
