Some single chain Schiff bases amphiphiles with different substituted headgroups have been designed and their interfacial phase behaviors and coordination with Cu(II) ions were investigated. It has been found that depending on the size of aromatic headgroups, the formed nanostrucures showed obvious differences, indicating different aggregation behaviors in the Langmuir-Blodgett films. The spreading Cu(II)-coordinated films could be transferred and subsequently characterized by spectral methods and morphological measurement. In addition, during the coordination process of ligand with Cu(II) ions in organized molecular films, some conformational change of long alkyl chains was observed. The present work showed clearly the headgroup effect of amphiphiles on regulating the aggregation behaviors in Langmuir-Blodgett films.

On the basis of a traditional phosphorescent organic light emitting device (PHOLED) with the structure of ITO/NPB/CBP:Ir(ppy)3/BAlq/Alq3/LiF/Al, a new structure PHOLED was fabricated in this paper, where concavo-convex shape was constructed at the NPB/CBP:Ir(ppy)3, CBP:Ir(ppy)3/BAlq and BAlq/Alq3 interface. A series of measurements of optical and electrical properties of device indicated that, (1) this concavo-convex interface structure with suitable protrusion thickness can reduce current density of device, hence reduce the formation of phosphorescence quench centers induced by high current density, (2) it can increase the area of charge carrier recombination interface and then disperse triplet excitons, hence decrease triplet-triplet quenching, (3) it can enhance the out-coupling of the waveguide light without spectral distortion. Therefore, this new structure with suitable protrusion thickness can increase remarkably the current efficiency of the device. When the protrusion thickness was 10 nm, the maximum current efficiency of the device can reach to 34.0 cd/A with an increase of 55% compared with the traditional device.

PVC/nano hydrotalcite (HT)-zinc oxide (ZnO) composite were prepared to reduce the smoke release of rigid poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) as it's burning. Thermal stabilities of the modified PVC and decomposed products were investigated by means of thermogravimetry and prolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrum (Py-GC-MS). As a result, HT-ZnO obviously accelerated decomposition of PVC to release hydrogen chloride, and the decomposed PVC consequently produced the trans-conjugated polyene sequences, which easily formed cross-linked structures. However, a cyclization reaction in PVC chain without the additives produced aromatic compounds such as benzene and naphthalene at 400°C Even though the amount of aromatic compounds was released from the PVC modified with HT-ZnO at the temperature of 600°C, the content of the decomposed products is relatively lower, comparing with unmodified PVC.

The metal elements in rhubarb roots were separated into soluble state and suspension state by 0.45 μm membrane filter based on traditional analytical flowchart program. The rhubarb roots at different producing areas and the decoction of rhubarb roots were pretreated by wet digestion, and then the metal elements were determined by ICP-MS analysis. The results indicate that there is obvious difference in the contents of metal elements between the different places. The dissolved rate of metal elements was low in the decoction of rhubarb, and the metal elements mainly existed in organic state with low water solubility. The determined metal elements mainly existed in soluble state, and their contents in soluble state are more than 50%. The determination and primary speciation analysis of the metal elements in rhubarb roots can provide useful information about bioavailability and pharmacological functions of rhubarb roots.

Effects of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of AM60-0.3Nd magnesium alloy were investigated by means of optical microscopy, SEM, XRD and tensile test. The results indicate that grain size of the AM60-0.3Nd alloy decreases from 90 μm in as-cast condition to about 20 μm after T4 heat treatment and the net-like β-Mg17Al12 distributed along grain boundary disappears completely. The dot and block AL-Nd intermetallics change to spherical ones and tensile strength increases to 262 MPa for the as-cast AM60-0.3Nd alloy after T4 heat treatment. After T6 heat treatment, the grain size of AM60-0.3Nd is refined to about 30 μm and β-Mg17Al12 phases are re-precipitated, and the spherical Al-Nd intermetallics change to the block again and its hardness increases significantly, reaching to 75 HV.

The microstructure, microhardness and liquid aluminum corrosion resistance of the nitrided TiAl based alloy at high temperature were studied. The results show that the surface microhardness are evidently improved, and the formed nitrogen scale consists of compound layer and the transition layer. By analyzing microstructure, corrosion resistance in liquid aluminum of the samples are evidently improved by nitriding processes, the corrosion mechanism is put forward.
