This paper presents a novel saliency detection method based on weighted linear multiple kernel learning (WLMKL), which is able to adaptively combine different contrast measurements in a supervised manner. Three commonly used bottom-up visual saliency operations are first introduced, including corner-surround contrast (CSC), center-surround contrast (CESC), and global contrast (GC). Then these contrast measures are fed into our WLMKL framework to produce the final saliency map. We show that the assigned weights for each contrast feature maps are always normalized in our WLMKL formulation. In addition, the proposed approach benefits from the advantages of the contribution of each individual contrast operation, and thus produces more robust and accurate saliency maps. The extensive experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed model, and demonstrate the combination is superior to individual subcomponent. © 2020, Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH. Toll stations are important facilities for highway transportation. There are many current charging methods, and traditional capacity calculations are based on a single charging method. As the service time of each charging method is different, the capacity of toll stations will be affected. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the capacity under a variety of charging methods. In this paper, a simulation model of toll station is established based on VISSIM simulation software, and then a simulation study is conducted on the lane capacity of various charging methods. The results show that the longer the service time, the lower the capacity of the charging method. The capacity of the lane using the mobile QR code is the smallest, and the higher the proportion of users who pay by the QR code, the smaller the lane capacity. The study provides a reference for the calculation of toll capacity.

With the continuous development of remote sensing(RS)technology,the surface information can be collected conveniently and quickly by using the popular unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV).The application of UAV low altitude RS technology in road safety in intelligent area has certain practical *** can provide safety warning for most drivers,and provide auxiliary decision-making for the road supervision *** the collection,processing,calculation and analysis of the road image,the UAV can find out the road obstacles with potential safety hazards,identify the road pit,calculate the radius and depth of the road pit through the digital mapping system,predict the accident risk according to different speed and provide scientific basis for the road safety *** the same time,UAV can provide repair scheme for damaged roads,estimate the quantity of materials needed for repair,and achieve the target of resource saving and efficiency *** experimental results show that the UAV can not only provide scientific prediction information for driving safety,but also provide relatively accurate material consumption for road repair.

Transfer entropy（TE） has been broadly used in the field of *** this paper,the partial information decomposition algorithm is employed to decompose multivariate TE into synergistic,redundant and unique *** this work,the synergistic part is believed as more suitable as the computation *** recorded the magnetoencephalogram（MEG） data of 6 subjects with depression and 13 normal subjects under different emotional stimulations,and studied the coupling between multiple symmetric channels in the frontal area in the brain of *** experimental results show that under different emotional stimulations,normal people present significant difference from the depression patients,especially in the right frontal ***,under negative emotional stimulation,the difference in synergistic value between normal people and depression patients is *** synergistic value of depression patients has become bigger,which indicates that the brain complexity of depression patients has grown,and their brain activities have increased.

Novel ansatz for charge radii in density functional theories

Charge radii are one of the most fundamental properties of atomic nuclei characterizing their charge distributions. Though the general trend as a function of the mass number is well described by the A1/3 rule, some fine structure, such as the evolution along the calcium isotopic chain and the corresponding odd-even staggerings, are notoriously difficult to describe both in density functional theories and ab initio methods. In this work, we propose a novel ansatz to describe the charge radii of calcium isotopes by adding a correction term, proportional to the number of Cooper pairs and determined by the BCS amplitudes and a single parameter, to the charge radii calculated in the relativistic mean field model with the pairing interaction treated with the BCS method. It is shown that the new ansatz yields results consistent with data not only for calcium isotopes, but also for 10 other isotopic chains, including oxygen, neon, magnesium, chromium, nickel, germanium, zirconium, cadmium, tin, and lead. It is quite remarkable that this ansatz with a single parameter can describe nuclear charge radii throughout the periodic table, particularly the odd-even staggerings and parabolic behavior.

Triply charmed dibaryons in the one boson exchange model

The pentaquark states, Pc(4312), Pc(4440), and Pc(4450), can be nicely arranged into a multiplet of seven molecules of D¯(*)Σc(*) dictated by heavy quark spin symmetry, while the Ξcc(*)Σc(*) system can be related to the D¯(*)Σc(*) system via heavy antiquark diquark symmetry. In this work, we employ the one-boson exchange model to study the interactions between Ξcc(*) and Σc(*) with constraints from the pentaquark system. We show that a multiplet of ten triply charmed dibaryons emerge naturally in the isospin-1/2 sector, while only three appear in the isospin-3/2 sector. In addition, we study their heavy quark flavor partners. Ten triply bottom diybaryons are found in the isospin-1/2 sector, while only nine are likely in the isospin-3/2 sector. Furthermore, the predicted mass splitting between the 0+ ΞccΣc state and its 1+ counterpart is found to be consistent with the correlation implied by heavy antiquark diquark symmetry recently pointed out in Pan et al..

Digital personal health libraries: A systematic literature review

Objective: This paper gives context on recent literature regarding the development of digital personal health libraries (PHL) and provides insights into the potential application of consumer health informatics in diverse clinical specialties. Materials and Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Here, 2,850 records were retrieved from PubMed and EMBASE in March 2020 using search terms: personal, health, and library. Information related to the health topic, target population, study purpose, library function, data source, data science method, evaluation measure, and status were extracted from each eligible study. In addition, knowledge discovery methods, including co-occurrence analysis and multiple correspondence analysis, were used to explore research trends of PHL. Results: After screening, this systematic review focused on a dozen articles related to PHL. These encompassed health topics such as infectious diseases, congestive heart failure, electronic prescribing. data science methods included relational database, information retrieval technology, ontology construction technology. Evaluation measures were heterogeneous regarding PHL functions and settings. At the time of writing, only one of the PHLs described in these articles is available for the public while the others are either prototypes or in the pilot stage. Discussion: Although PHL researches have used different methods to address problems in diverse health domains, there is a lack of an effective PHL to meet the needs of older adults. Conclusion: The development of PHLs may create an unprecedented opportunity for promoting the health of older consumers by providing diverse health information. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Network function virtualization is a promising technology to simultaneously support multiple services with diverse characteristics and requirements in the 5G and beyond networks. In particular, each service consists of a predetermined sequence of functions, called service function chain (SFC), running on a cloud environment. To make different service slices work properly in harmony, it is crucial to appropriately select the cloud nodes to deploy the functions in the SFC and flexibly route the flow of the services such that these functions are processed in the order defined in the corresponding SFC, the end-to-end (E2E) latency constraints of all services are guaranteed, and all cloud and communication resource budget constraints are respected. In this paper, we first propose a new mixed binary linear program (MBLP) formulation of the above network slicing problem that optimizes the system energy efficiency while jointly considers the E2E latency requirement, resource budget, flow routing, and functional instantiation. Then, we develop another MBLP formulation and show that the two formulations are equivalent in the sense that they share the same optimal solution. However, since the numbers of variables and constraints in the second problem formulation are significantly smaller than those in the first one, solving the second problem formulation is more computationally efficient especially when the dimension of the corresponding network is large. Numerical results demonstrate the advantage of the proposed formulations compared with the existing ones. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Monitoring the respiratory rate is crucial for helping us identify respiratory disorders. Devices for conventional respiratory monitoring are inconvenient and scarcely available. Recent research has demonstrated the ability of non-contact technologies, such as photoplethysmography and infrared thermography, to gather respiratory signals from the face and monitor breathing. However, the current non-contact respiratory monitoring techniques have poor accuracy because they are sensitive to environmental influences like lighting and motion artifacts. Furthermore, frequent contact between users and the cloud in real-world medical application settings might cause service request delays and potentially the loss of personal data. We proposed a non-contact respiratory rate monitoring system with a cooperative three-layer design to increase the precision of respiratory monitoring and decrease data transmission latency. To reduce data transmission and network latency, our three-tier architecture layer-by-layer decomposes the computing tasks of respiration monitoring. Moreover, we improved the accuracy of respiratory monitoring by designing a target tracking algorithm and an algorithm for eliminating false peaks to extract high-quality respiratory signals. By gathering the data and choosing several regions of interest on the face, we were able to extract the respiration signal and investigate how different regions affected the monitoring of respiration. The results of the experiment indicate that when the nasal region is used to extract the respiratory signal, it performs experimentally best.
