Semantic segmentation technology is an important research direction in the field of computer vision, with the continuous improvement of computer GPU and other hardware arithmetic power, as well as the more clear and accurate remote sensing images. In recent years, deep learning technology has developed rapidly in the field of semantic segmentation, and the level of semantic segmentation technology has improved significantly. Based on unsupervised, automated, end-to-end deep learning networks have gradually become the object of research in scene object segmentation, pre-person background segmentation, face recognition and other related fields. In this paper, we conduct research on deep learning semantic segmentation algorithms for water body extraction, focusing on specific analysis of typical problems such as long freezing period of lakes in cold and arid regions, low precipitation, complex seasonal changes of lakes, and fragile water bodies. The cold and arid zone lakes distributed in Inner Mongolia region of China are selected as the research objects, and the water body extraction experiments are conducted on the remote sensing images of Hulun Lake and Wuoliangsuhai Lake. Propose a SER34AUnet model, the model was improved based on the Unet network model of Encode-Decode architecture, and finally achieved good results in the water extraction experiments. The main work of this paper is as follows: (1) Establishing image segmentation dataset: remote sensing images of several lakes in cold and arid regions in different seasons, different satellites and various remote sensing images with specific representative features typical of cold and arid regions are used to enhance the generalization ability of the dataset. (2) Improving the Unet model: Firstly, the Resnet34 network, which is more capable of extracting image features, is used in the Encode part. CoT-based Synthesizer: Enhancing LLM Performance through Answer Synthesis

Current inference scaling methods, such as Self-consistency and Best-of-N, have proven effective in improving the accuracy of LLMs on complex reasoning tasks. However, these methods rely heavily on the quality of candidate responses and are unable to produce correct answers when all candidates are incorrect. In this paper, we propose a novel inference scaling strategy, CoT-based Synthesizer, which leverages CoT reasoning to synthesize superior answers by analyzing complementary information from multiple candidate responses, even when all candidate responses are flawed. To enable a lightweight and cost-effective implementation, we introduce an automated data generation pipeline that creates diverse training data. This allows smaller LLMs trained on this data to improve the inference accuracy of larger models, including API-based LLMs. Experimental results across four benchmark datasets with seven policy models demonstrate that our method significantly enhances performance, with gains of 11.8% for Llama3-8B and 10.3% for GPT-4o on the MATH dataset. In edge computing (EC), resource allocation is to allocate computing, storage and networking resources on the edge nodes (ENs) efficiently and reasonably to tasks generated by users. Due to the resource-limitation of ENs, the tasks often need to compete for the resources. Pricing mechanisms are widely used to deal with the resource allocation problem, and the valuations of tasks play a critical role in the price mechanisms. However, users naturally are not willing to expose the valuations of their tasks due to conflicts of interests. Current research works usually adopt truthful auctions to motivate the users to report honestly the valuations of their tasks. In this paper, we introduce the marginal value to estimate the valuations of tasks, and propose a marginal value-based pricing mechanism using the incentive theory, which motivates the tasks with higher marginal values to actively request more resources. The EC platform sets the resource prices using the price mechanism, and then the users determine their resource requests relying on the resource prices and the valuations of their tasks. After receiving the deadline-sensitive tasks from the users, the resource allocation can be modeled as a knapsack problem with the deadline constraints. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our approach is computationally efficient and is promising in enhancing the utility of the EC platform and the tasks. © 2023 IEEE.

Efficient and stable Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been successfully produced using a dual-layer modified (DLM) perovskite thin film. This method simultaneously modifies both the bottom (SnO2/perovskite) and top (perovskite/SpiroOMeTAD) interfaces of the perovskite. The crystallinity of the perovskite film is enhanced after the DLM treatment. Additionally, thin barrier layers are formed on both its bottom and top surfaces, which reduce surface defect density and non-radiative recombination of carriers. The bottom and top modifier layers prevent direct contact between the hole transport layer and the electron transport layer, forming a high-energy barrier that promotes carrier transmission in PSCs. Consequently, the methylammonium acetate (MAAc)-PSC achieves an efficiency of 21.96%. © 2024 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Chinese idioms on social media demand a nuanced understanding for correct usage. The Chinese idiom cloze test poses a unique challenge for machine reading comprehension due to the figurative meanings of idioms deviating from their literal interpretations, resulting in a semantic bias in models' comprehension of idioms. Furthermore, given that the figurative meanings of many idioms are similar, their use as suboptimal options can interfere with optimal selection. Despite achieving some success in the Chinese idiom cloze test, existing methods based on deep learning still struggle to comprehensively grasp idiom semantics due to the aforementioned issues. To tackle these challenges, we introduce a Refining Idioms Semantics Comprehension Framework (RISCF) to capture the comprehensive idioms semantics. Specifically, we propose a semantic sense contrastive learning module to enhance the representation of idiom semantics, diminishing the semantic bias between figurative and literal meanings of idioms. Meanwhile, we propose an interference-resistant cross-attention module to attenuate the interference of suboptimal options, which considers the interaction between the candidate idioms and the blank space in the context. Experimental results on the benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our RISCF model, significantly outperforming state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Recently, cross-domain named entity recognition (cross-domain NER), which can reduce the high data annotation costs faced by fully-supervised methods, has drawn attention. Most competitive approaches mainly rely on pre-trained language models like BERT to represent words. As such, the original chaotic representations may bring challenges (e.g., entity span detection errors and entity type misclassification) for them. For evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms (EMOAs), an external archive can be utilized for saving good solutions found throughout the evolutionary process. Recent studies showed that a solution set selected from an external archive is usually superior to the final population. That is, the incorporation of an external archive improves the performance of EMOAs. However, the computation time for maintaining an external archive is long, especially when the archive size is large. To solve this issue, a simple archiving strategy is to save all solutions generated in the last several generations. In this paper, we examine this archiving strategy for three representative EMOAs on artificial test problems (Minus-DTLZ and WFG) and real-world problems (RE). Our results show that archiving the last several generations clearly improves the performance of EMOAs without severely increasing the computation time. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes an energy balance opportunistic networks routing algorithm P-TECS. The P-TECS solves the problems of energy consumption of key nodes in existing opportunistic routing algorithms. This paper defines the relay degree of communication between nodes, and designs a P-TECS opportunistic routing algorithm integrating dynamic attributes of multiple nodes. Simulation results show that in resource-constrained opportunistic networks, P-TECS significantly improves the message delivery rate and average remaining energy of nodes, and significantly reduces the routing overhead rate. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

P2 Law: Scaling Law for Post-Training After Model Pruning

Pruning has become a widely adopted technique for reducing the hardware requirements of large language models (LLMs). To recover model performance after pruning, post-training is commonly employed to mitigate the resulting performance degradation. While post-training benefits from larger datasets, once the dataset size is already substantial, increasing the training data provides only limited performance gains. To balance post-training cost and model performance, it is necessary to explore the optimal amount of post-training data. Through extensive experiments on the Llama-3 and Qwen-2.5 series models, pruned using various common pruning methods, we uncover the scaling Law for Post-training after model Pruning, referred to as the P2 Law. This law identifies four key factors for predicting the pruned model’s post-training loss: the model size before pruning, the number of post-training tokens, the pruning rate, and the model’s loss before pruning. Moreover, P2 Law can generalize to larger dataset sizes, larger model sizes, and higher pruning rates, offering valuable insights for the post-training of pruned LLMs. © 2024, CC BY.
