Joint Feature Representation and Classifier Learning Based Unsupervised Domain Adaption ELM

In the problem of unsupervised domain adaption Extreme learning machine(ELM), the output layer parameters need to have both classification and domain adaptation functions, which often cannot be simultaneously fully utilized. In addition, traditional matching method based on data probability distribution cannot find the common subspace of source and target domains under large difference between domains. In order to alleviate the pressure of double functions of classifier parameters, the entire ELM learning process is mainly divided into two stages: feature representation and adaptive classifier learning, thus a joint feature representation and classifier learning based unsupervised domain adaption ELM model is proposed. In the feature representation stage, the source and target domain data are projected to their respective subspace while minimizing the difference in probability distribution between the two domains. In the adaptive classifier learning stage, the smooth manifold regularization term of target domain is used to improve the parameter adaptive *** on six different types of datasets show that the proposed model has higher cross-domain classification accuracy.

Collaborative 3D object detection, with its improved interaction advantage among multiple agents, has been widely explored in autonomous driving. However, existing collaborative 3D object detectors in a fully supervised paradigm heavily rely on large-scale annotated 3D bounding boxes, which is labor-intensive and time-consuming. To tackle this issue, we propose a sparsely supervised collaborative 3D object detection framework SSC3OD, which only requires each agent to randomly label one object in the scene. Specifically, this model consists of two novel components, i.e., the pillar-based masked autoencoder (Pillar-MAE) and the instance mining module. The Pillar-MAE module aims to reason over high-level semantics in a self-supervised manner, and the instance mining module generates high-quality pseudo labels for collaborative detectors online. By introducing these simple yet effective mechanisms, the proposed SSC3OD can alleviate the adverse impacts of incomplete annotations. We generate sparse labels based on collaborative perception datasets to evaluate our method. Extensive experiments on three large-scale datasets reveal that our proposed SSC3OD can effectively improve the performance of sparsely supervised collaborative 3D object detectors. © 2023 IEEE.

Colorectal intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer, which is mainly diagnosed using pathological images. According to the characteristics of lesions, precancerous lesions can be classified into four different grades, i.e., background, normal, low and high level. However, due to the continuity of lesion development, tissue in different stages has high similarity. Recently, visual transformers have achieved impressive results in different visual tasks, due to their capacity of capturing long-range dependencies. However, due to computational cost, transformer cannot well extract detailed feature, which is important for lesion grading. To accurately segment pathological tissues with high similarity, in this work, we embed the multi-head MLP mixer module in the transformer network to extract cell and edge information. Furthermore, we propose a hierarchical MLP decoder to facilitate multi-scale feature fusion. The proposed transformer, namely MLPFormer, achieves remarkable results against competitive baselines on the Histo-CRC Biopsy dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that MLPFormer significantly outperforms the competitive baselines, i.e., a 3% dice improvement is achieved over the SegFormer series. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Robust lane detection in real-time is one of the foundations for advanced autonomous driving, which can provide substantial amounts of useful information for Autonomous Driving Systems, vehicle self-control, localization, and map construction. Since the in/extrinsic parameters of different vehicles are various which has a significant impact on the results of 3D lanes, we introduce the Virtual Camera that unifies the in/extrinsic parameters of cameras mounted on different vehicles to guarantee the consistency of the spatial relationship among cameras. It can effectively promote the learning procedure due to the unified visual space. Different from using fixed intrinsic parameters and extrinsic parameters to transform front-view images to virtual images, we train a network, termed FVHNet, that estimates the parameters of an ideal perspective transformation, conditioned on the input image. In order to train FVHNet for outputting the transformation matrix that is optimal for perspective transformation, we construct a loss function referred FVHLoss. In summary, we propose a method which can unify the in/extrinsic parameters of different vehicles with learnable homography matrix. We verify our method on the Apollo 3D Lane Synthetic dataset and achieve competitive results. © 2023 IEEE.

Image enhancement tasks have garnered significant attention in recent years, particularly regarding images captured in low-light conditions. Due to their inherent under-illumination characteristics, these images often suffer from challenges such as low contrast, low brightness, and noise that hinder their quality. With the recent advancements in deep learning, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have demonstrated a high potential in addressing these challenges. In this paper, we propose a deep CNN-based approach that enhances color components a and b through Lab-space decomposition of images, utilizing a deep unsupervised dehazing network model as a baseline. Our approach considers both algorithmic and image decomposition, splitting the low-light image enhancement task into two parallel subtasks. In recent years, emotion recognition technology has been widely used in emotion change perception and mental illness diagnosis. Previous methods are mainly based on single-task learning strategies, which are unable to fuse multimodal features and remove redundant information. This paper proposes an emotion recognition model ER-MRL, which is based on multimodal representation learning. ER-MRL vectorizes the multimodal emotion data through encoders based on neural networks. The gate mechanism is used for multimodal feature selection. On this basis, ER-MRL calculates the modality specific and modality invariant representation for each emotion category. The Transformer model and multihead self-attention layer are applied to multimodal feature fusion. ER-MRL figures out the prediction result through the tower layer based on fully connected neural networks. Experimental results on the CMU-MOSI dataset show that ER-MRL has better performance on emotion recognition than previous methods. © 2022 IEEE.

A series Sm3+ and Eu3+ co-doped Sr2YNbO6 phosphors were prepared by high temperature solid state reaction method in this work. The photoluminescence properties and energy transfer process were studied, and the results revealed that the photoluminescence intensity was significantly enhanced by co-doped with Eu3+, with the optimal concentration of 0.15mol, and the energy transfer efficiency between Sm3+ and Eu3+ ions was as high as 94.25%. In addition, the diffuse reflectance spectrum results confirmed the excitation wavelength of the sample, and the optical band gap showed concentration dependence. Finally, the lower color temperature CCT=2502K and the higher color rendering index Ra=76.4 indicate that the material has potential application value in the fields of LED and anti-counterfeiting display. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

A Cross-Domain Ontology Semantic Representation Based on NCBI-BlueBERT Embedding

A common but critical task in biological ontologies data analysis is to compare the difference between ontologies. There have been numerous ontologybased semantic-similarity measures proposed in specific ontology domain, but it still remains a challenge for crossdomain ontologies comparison. An ontology contains the scientific natural language description for the corresponding biological aspect. Therefore, we develop a new method based on natural language processing(NLP) representation model bidirectional encoder representations from transformers(BERT) for cross-domain semantic representation of biological ontologies. This article uses the BERT model to represent the word-level of the ontologies as a set of vectors, facilitating the semantic analysis or comparing the biomedical entities named in an ontology or associated with ontology terms. We evaluated the ability of our method in two experiments: calculating similarities of pair-wise disease ontology and human phenotype ontology terms and predicting the pair-wise of proteins interaction. The experimental results demonstrated the comparative performance. This gives promise to the development of NLP methods in biological data analysis.

Cognitive diagnosis is an important issue of intelligent education systems,which aims to estimate students'proficiency on specific knowledge *** existing studies rely on the assumption of static student states and ig-nore the dynamics of proficiency in the learning process,which makes them unsuitable for online learning *** this paper,we propose a unified temporal item response theory(UTIRT)framework,incorporating temporality and random-ness of proficiency evolving to get both accurate and interpretable diagnosis ***,we hypothesize that stu-dents'proficiency varies as a Wiener process and describe a probabilistic graphical model in UTIRT to consider temporali-ty and randomness ***,based on the relationship between student states and exercising answers,we hy-pothesize that the answering result at time k contributes most to inferring a student's proficiency at time k,which also re-flects the temporality aspect and enables us to get analytical maximization(M-step)in the expectation maximization(EM)algorithm when estimating model *** UTIRT is a framework containing unified training and inferenc-ing methods,and is general to cover several typical traditional models such as Item Response Theory(IRT),multidimen-sional IRT(MIRT),and temporal IRT(TIRT).Extensive experimental results on real-world datasets show the effective-ness of UTIRT and prove its superiority in leveraging temporality theoretically and practically over TIRT.

The massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) system based on channel state information (CSI) is the core technology of next-generation communication. As the complexity of the CSI matrix gradually increases, CSI feedback becomes more challenging. CSI feedback technology based on deep learning (DL) has been successful in frequency-division duplex (FDD) MIMO systems. In this paper, we propose a complex-valued lightweight neural network MADNet for CSI feedback. The network is based on an encoder-decoder structure, which enriches the information extraction of the CSI matrix by adopting channel information extraction modules and coordinates information extraction modules, which reduces the computational complexity of the network by using lightweight convolution. Experimental results show that our network outperforms most CNN-based network architectures at multiple compression rates and performs significantly better in both indoor and outdoor scenarios. © 2023 SPIE.
