Image inpainting based on deep learning has been greatly *** original purpose of image inpainting was to repair some broken photos, suchas inpainting artifacts. However, it may also be used for malicious operations,such as destroying evidence. Therefore, detection and localization of imageinpainting operations are essential. Recent research shows that high-pass filteringfull convolutional network (HPFCN) is applied to image inpainting detection andachieves good results. However, those methods did not consider the spatial location and channel information of the feature map. To solve these shortcomings, weintroduce the squeezed excitation blocks (SE) and propose a high-pass filter attention full convolutional network (HPACN). In feature extraction, we apply concurrent spatial and channel attention (scSE) to enhance feature extraction and obtainmore information. Channel attention (cSE) is introduced in upsampling toenhance detection and localization. The experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve improvement on ImageNet.

In recent years, deep convolutional neural networks have shown good performance on images with spatially invariant noise, but their performance is limited on real-world noisy images. In order to improve the practicality of denoising algorithms, this paper proposes a simple one-stage blind real image denoising network with a modular structure, which combines the local modeling capability of residual dense convolutional layers with the global modeling capability of spatial and channel attention blocks and inserts them as the main building blocks into widely used encoder–decoder architectures to achieve end-to-end denoising. To preserve image structure information as much as possible during the denoising process, this paper uses different lengths of residuals between different modules to mitigate the flow of low-frequency information, and applies Contrast-Aware channel attention to enhance the dependency relationship of channel activation. Furthermore, this paper evaluates state-of-the-art algorithms on different noise datasets using quantitative metrics and visual quality, experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.

Video Character Social Relationship Recognition (VCSRR) requires a comprehensive consideration about spatio-temporal and multi-modal clues in videos. Most existing methods mainly focus on integrating multi-modal clues and modeling interactions among characters. However, they fail to discover key clues in the complex video data or fully understand the clues related to social relationships. In this article, we propose a novel Large Language Model Enhanced key Clues Selection (LEKCS) framework to address the aforementioned issues. The core of LE-KCS is to mine multi-scale key clues from the perspectives of time, space and multi-modality, then transfer the knowledge about social relationships of the Large Language Model to VCSRR for understanding the selected clues. We evaluated LEKCS on the MovieGraphs dataset and the experimental results indicate that our proposed LE-KCS achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2025 IEEE.

As software engineering advances and the code demand rises, the prevalence of code clones has increased. This phenomenon poses risks like vulnerability propagation, underscoring the growing importance of code clone detection techniques. While numerous code clone detection methods have been proposed, they often fall short in real-world code environments. They either struggle to identify code clones effectively or demand substantial time and computational resources to handle complex clones. This paper introduces a code clone detection method namely Toma using tokens and machine learning. Specifically, we extract token type sequences and employ six similarity calculation methods to generate feature vectors. These vectors are then input into a trained machine learning model for classification. To evaluate the effectiveness and scalability of Toma, we conduct experiments on the widely used bigCloneBench dataset. Results show that our tool outperforms token-based code clone detectors and most tree-based clone detectors, demonstrating high effectiveness and significant time savings. © 2024 ACM.

Multi-label classification deals with the problem where an instance is associated with multiple labels simultaneously. Most existing multi-label classification algorithms assume that the labels of the training data are complete. However, we can obtain only a partial label set of each instance in some real applications since labelling data is difficult or costly. Some existing works on multi-label classification with missing labels focus on exploiting label correlations to complete the original label space and simultaneously build a multi-label learning model using label specific features. However, these methods may be suboptimal since they do not preserve feature-label space consistency. In this paper, we propose a Space Consistency-based Multi-Label classification algorithm named SCML to address this issue. First, label correlation in label space is learned to augment the incomplete original label matrix to a new supplementary label matrix, and the multi-label classifier is constructed simultaneously based on the new supplementary label matrix. Then, correlation information in feature space is learned based on the probabilistic neighborhood similarities to preserve feature-label space consistency. Moreover, the proposed algorithm has an effective mechanism for learning label-specific features to improve the multi-label classification with missing labels. Extensive experiments on twelve benchmark data sets validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for improving the generalization performance of state-of-the-art algorithms of multi-label learning with missing labels.

Modern SSDs achieve low latency and high throughput by utilizing multiple levels of SSD parallelism. Fairness is also a critical design consideration in cloud environments and has inspired great interest in recent years to study it. However, we find that excessive striving for SSD parallelism can inadvertently harm the SSD fairness due to the striped data layout. We observe from our experimental analysis that some common access patterns in cloud loads (e.g., high-intensity I/O) are not addressed by SSD parallelism, which can affect both SSD parallelism and fairness. In this paper, we analyze two address mapping policies with orthogonal characteristics from SSD parallelism and fairness perspectives. Based on extensive experiments and observations, we schedule a hybrid address mapping policy to achieve fairness of SSDs in cloud environments by distinguishing different I/O access modes and cold/hot data, while ensuring SSD performance. Experimental results on the latest block-level I/O traces show that our approach significantly improves performance and fairness by up to 77.3% and 62.8%, respectively, over the previous schemes with negligible cost. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the write amplification by 23.5% to 33.5%. © 2024 IEEE.

Federated feature selection (FFS) is a promising field for selecting informative features while preserving data privacy in federated learning (FL) settings. Existing FFS methods focus on capturing the correlations between features and labels. They struggle to achieve satisfactory performance in the face of data distribution heterogeneity among FL clients, and cannot address the out-of-distribution (OOD) problem that arises when a significant portion of clients do not actively participate in FL training. To address these limitations, we propose Federated Causally Invariant Feature Learning (FedCIFL), a novel approach for learning causally invariant features in a privacy-preserving manner. We design a sample reweighting strategy to eliminate spurious correlations introduced by selection bias and iteratively estimate the federated causal effect between each feature and the labels (with the remaining features initially treated as confounders). By iteratively refining the confounding feature set to identify the true confounders, FedCIFL mitigates the impact of limited local data on the accuracy of federated causal effect estimation. Theoretical analysis proves the correctness of FedCIFL under reasonable assumptions. Extensive experiments on synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of FedCIFL against eight state-of-the-art baselines, beating the best-performing approach by 3.19%, 9.07% and 2.65% in terms of average test Accuracy, RMSE and F1 score, respectively. Temporal sentence grounding (TSG) aims to localize the temporal segment which is semantically aligned with a natural language query in an untrimmed video. Most existing methods extract frame-grained features or object-grained features by 3D ConvNet or detection network under a conventional TSG framework, failing to capture the subtle differences between frames or to model the spatio-temporal behavior of core persons/objects. In this paper, we introduce a new perspective to address the TSG task by tracking pivotal objects and activities to learn more fine-grained spatio-temporal behaviors. Specifically, we propose a novel Temporal Sentence Tracking Network (TSTNet), which contains (A) a Cross-modal Targets Generator to generate multi-modal templates and search space, filtering objects and activities, and (B) a Temporal Sentence Tracker to track multi-modal targets for modeling the targets' behavior and to predict query-related segment. Extensive experiments and comparisons with state-of-the-arts are conducted on challenging benchmarks: Charades-STA and TACoS. And our TSTNet achieves the leading performance with a considerable real-time speed. © 2023 IEEE.

We propose a novel transient chaotic neural network model with a nonlinear delayed self-feedback term, aiming to leverage its complex dynamical behavior for algorithm optimization. To avoid the influence of chance, we conduct experiments using randomly generated data and analyze the model's chaotic dynamical behavior by visualizing the stability of the neurons through inverse bifurcation diagrams and maximum Lyapunov exponent diagrams. The simulation results demonstrate the remarkable effectiveness of this new model in network optimization, with a success rate even reaching 100%, surpassing previous chaotic neural network models. Notably, in the following sections, all nonlinear terms are represented using trigonometric functions. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation, pivotal for guiding users to their next interested locale, grapples with the persistent challenge of data sparsity. Whereas knowledge graphs (KGs) have emerged as a favored tool to mitigate the issue, existing KG-based methods tend to overlook two crucial elements: the intention steering users’ location choices and the high-order topological structure within the KG. In this paper, we craft an Intention-aware knowledge Graph (IKG) that harmonizes users’ visit histories, movement trajectories, and location categories to model user intentions. Building upon IKG, our novel Intention-aware knowledge Graph Network (IKGN) delves deeper into the POI recommendation by weighing and propagating node embeddings through an attention mechanism, capturing the unique locational intent of each user. A sequential model like GRU is then employed to ensure a comprehensive representation of users’ short- and long-term location preferences. An empirical study on two real-world datasets validates the effectiveness of our proposed IKGN, with it markedly outshining seven benchmark rival models in both Recall and NDCG metrics.
