Charts are widely used for data visualization across various fields, including education, research, and business. Chart Question Answering (CQA) is an emerging task focused on the automatic interpretation and reasoning of data presented in charts. However, chart images are inherently difficult to interpret, and chart-related questions often involve complex logical and numerical reasoning, which hinders the performance of existing models. This paper introduces VProChart, a novel framework designed to address these challenges in CQA by integrating a lightweight Visual Perception Alignment Agent (VPAgent) and a Programmatic Solution Reasoning approach. VPAgent aligns and models chart elements based on principles of human visual perception, enhancing the understanding of chart context. The Programmatic Solution Reasoning approach leverages large language models (LLMs) to transform natural language reasoning questions into structured solution programs, facilitating precise numerical and logical reasoning. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets such as ChartQA and PlotQA demonstrate that VProChart significantly outperforms existing methods, highlighting its ability to understand and reason with charts. The traditional compressive sensing theory does not take full advantage of the differences in image block information features for sampling, and the measurement matrix does not adequately measure the image based on the image information features. To solve these problems, we design a color image encryption scheme based on block compressive perception and chaotic systems. First, the color image is divided into three channels of RGB and into 8*8 blocks respectively. Then, a zigzag transform is applied to each block so that each pixel value is evenly distributed. Each block is sparsified by the discrete cosine transform, and the measurement matrix generated by the Chen chaotic system is sampled to compress the image blocks to CR times the original block size according to different compression ratios (CR). The resulting chunked compressed samples are further distributed across the pixel values of the image using a cross-channel confusion dislocation method. Finally, the size of the pixel values is changed by a dissimilarity operation. The experimental results show that the scheme can balance the security of image information transmission and the integrity of reception, and has good resistance to various attacks. © 2023 SPIE.

With the rapid development of elevated expressways, urban elevated expressways bear more and more traffic volume, and the adoption of environmental protection materials has become an inevitable trend in the development of elevated expressways. a control method for connecting the elevated expressway with the ground intersection based on reflective film material is presented. Firstly, the green reflective film material is used to guide the connecting section of the elevated expressway and the ground intersection. Then, the corresponding signal timing method is proposed to optimize the traffic flow time between the elevated expressway and the ground ***, through the analysis of the VISSIM traffic simulation software to evaluate the results show that the method is based on the reflective film material can effectively guide the elevated expressway with the ground intersection connection section, under the premise by signal optimization technology to further improve the traffic efficiency, effectively reduces the overhead elevated expressway with the ground intersection connection number of the conflicts, It provides a basis for the research on the connection section between the elevated expressway and the ground intersection based on reflective film material guidance. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has driven the intelligent transformation of various industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare, etc., significantly enhancing their management capabilities and decision-making efficiency. data analysis is crucial, serving as both the core technology of this transformation and a major driving force for advancing industry intelligence. However, the increasing volume of data has led to high energy consumption during data analysis, posing significant challenges to environmental and economic sustainability. Integrating renewable energy sources (RESs) is an effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions due to their low-carbon and renewable nature. Additionally, the spatiotemporal variability and complementarity of RES generation and grid electricity prices provide favorable conditions for distributed data processing. Therefore, a two-stage demand response scheme is proposed to reduce carbon emissions and electricity costs by prioritizing data processing in data centers (DCs) where RES is abundant or electricity prices are low, based on RES generation and electricity price signals. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces 36.37% carbon emissions and 20.49% electricity costs compared to the benchmark algorithm, indicating its potential for both environmental and economic optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

Existing methods for modeling recommendation systems based on knowledge graphs include embedding-based, pathbased, and propagation-based methods. The embedding-based approach is flexible but more suitable for intra-graph applications, the path-based approach can model complex relationships but has a high computational cost, and the propagation-based approach considers global information but may introduce noise. This study proposed a simple and efficient model, called SEKGAT, which comprehensive the ideology of path-based and propagation approach to personalized recommendation by aggregating the user preferences through graph attention mechanism and fusing multiple feature representations on the knowledge graph into item features through pooling aggregators. Experimental results for the CTR prediction and Top-K recommendation tasks on three datasets of real-world scenarios show that our model approach is competitive. © 2023 IEEE.

How to efficiently and accurately identify rice diseases plays a crucial role in rice planting and production. Deploying large convolutional neural networks in practical applications is challenging due to their complex model parameters, while lightweight networks often compromise accuracy to reduce model size. In this study, we introduce a lightweight and precise network called GM-ShuffleNet for rice disease recognition. Building upon the ShuffleNet V2 network, we integrated the Ghost module and MCA attention mechanism, adjusted the network structure and number of channels, and replaced the ReLU activation function with Mish. Through comparative experiments, the accuracy of GM-ShuffleNet algorithm proposed in this paper reaches 96.20%, which is superior to ShuffleNet V2 and other excellent lightweight networks. In addition, in terms of model complexity comparison, the number of model parameters and FLOPs decreased by 82.54% and 77.44% respectively compared with the original network. © 2024 IEEE.

Vehicle ad-hoc networks (VANETs) play a critical role in providing security and privacy protection for intelligent transportation systems. However, the limited network bandwidth and computing capacity within VANETs have resulted in existing authentication schemes having excessive computational overhead, which cannot meet the low-latency communication requirements of VANETs. To tackle these problems, we propose an efficient blockchain-based certificateless anonymous authentication scheme for VANETs. Firstly, we propose a novel signature scheme without bilinear pairing to reduce the computational overhead in VANETs. Secondly, we utilize blockchain to facilitate trusted information sharing. Thirdly, we provide privacy-preserving through the use of anonymous keys, and enable tracing of vehicle identities in the event of malicious behavior. Finally, security analysis and simulation experiments demonstrate that our proposed scheme has lower communication and computational overhead, while satisfying various security requirements for VANETs, such as anonymity, unlinkability, and traceability. © 2023 IEEE.

Commonsense reasoning is one of the abilities necessary for artificial intelligence to be as intelligent as humans. However, how to make AI understand commonsense has been a problem that has plagued artificial intelligence for more than 60 years. Existing efforts focus more on the means of knowledge acquisition and strive to enrich the capacity of commonsense knowledge (CSK) bases and dimensions of CSK through advanced methods. Unfortunately, this exuberance has obscured a general consideration of CSK, such as how to follow human habits to obtain the most representative knowledge we need to understand the world. In this paper, this representative knowledge is referred to as core CSK. The influence of core CSK is extensive, and it constitutes almost the fundamental element of human life and the most fundamental cognition of the world. Harnessing human curiosity to find solutions to the above problems is an effective and straightforward route. Specifically, we focus on a special corpus to mine core CSK, namely, why-questions. For example, we can harvest “the sky is blue” from “why is the sky blue?”. To this end, we propose a novel method to extract CSK from why-questions, which mainly consist of two modules. The first is a question classification module used to determine whether a question contains CSK. In this module, we propose a classifier based on a one-sided bootstrapping method and design several informative features for the classifier. The second is a crowdsourcing module used to improve the quality of the extracted commonsense. We conduct extensive experiments, and the experimental results show that our method effectively mines CSK from question corpora. Furthermore, statistical analysis demonstrates the feasibility of this curiosity-driven approach, implying that we provide a basic idea for collecting core CSK. The goal of Synthetic Speech Detection (SSD) is to detect spoofing speech synthesized by text-to-speech and voice conversion. Most existing SSD methods focus only on mining frequency-wise dependency by customizing frequency-aggregation modules in SSD models. However, the instance-wise dependency is usually under-explored, which is critical for identifying the synthetic speech from a global view. In this paper, we propose a novel model-agnostic training strategy for SSD that exploits both local (frequency-wise) and global (instance-wise) contexts, which do not rely on a customized architecture and can be flexibly integrated into previous SSD models. Specifically, we propose an inter-frequency correlation module to capture the local context by reconstructing the masked frequency information from the unmasked frequency context. Meanwhile, an inter-instance correlation module is performed to explore the global context among different instances by promoting intra-class compactness and inter-class dispersion in the latent space. These two complementary modules operate from distinct contextual perspectives, leading to improvements in SSD performance. Extensive experiments show that our method significantly improves the performance of two state-of-the-art models on the 2019 dataset and 2021 dataset of ASVspoof. © 2024 Z. Wang, L. Gao, J. The acquisition of spatial distribution information on active offshore oil/gas platforms (AOOP) is of importance for effective ocean management and the comprehensive study on marine carbon emissions. In recent years, the methodological framework for AOOP extraction using low-light remote sensing imagery has emerged as a novel and promising approach. Consequently, in this study, we utilized high-resolution low-light images obtained from the Glimmer Imager (GLI) payload aboard the Sustainable Development Goals Science Satellite 1 (SDGSAT-1) to facilitate the automatic extraction of AOOP. We applied a time-series low-light remote sensing (TLLRS) method for automatic extraction of AOOP in the northern Gulf of Mexico for the year 2022. The results indicate that the TLLRS method achieves a remarkable precision rate of 95.31% in the automatic extraction of AOOP, with an overall accuracy of 84.92%. Our findings demonstrate the feasibility and efficacy of applying SDGSAT-1 GLI data to monitor AOOP at large-scale. © 2024 SPIE.
