Tables, as an important means of data storage, are widely used in spreadsheets, web tables, and PDFs. By integrating information from table data with knowledge re-trieved from an external knowledge base, and examining the correspondences between cell values in the table and instances in the knowledge base, we can extract knowledge from the table to augment and enrich the knowledge base. To achieve this goal, we first need to classify table cells based on their functions in the layout. Due to the diverse structures arising from the arrangements of rows and columns, as well as the complexity of content resulting from concise data storage, current automation techniques heavily rely on stylistic features of table cells, such as font or color. Moreover, these methods are rarely experimented with or validated on tables without style features. Recent literature indicates that large language models (LLMs) demonstrate an ability to understand the structure and content of tables in tasks such as table judgment reasoning. Even without extensive feature inputs or pre-training, LLMs still show comparable results to machine learning and deep learning in these tasks. Therefore, this paper attempts to apply LLMs to table cell classification without using other stylistic features. We have designed a 4-component prompt paradigm (Classification Definition, Instruction, Table, Com-pletion), representing respectively the classification definition, task instructions, table data, and result output. We conduct experiments on three datasets CIUS, SAUS, and DEEX for table cell classification with one-shot learning. Our experimental results show that with the assistance of LLMs, better results can be achieved without utilizing stylistic features.

With the continuous development of information technology, artificial intelligence fire automatic alarm system is gradually developed. However, the current system is based on a single sensor for identification, when a fire still uses manual active fire extinguishing, low efficiency in handling fire, high failure rate, poor system scalability, poor anti-interference ability, high false alarm rate. At the same time, the recognition accuracy is low, the processing speed and intelligence are also insufficient. Therefore. To address the above problems, this study designs a multi-sensor artificial intelligence fire prevention system using smoke and temperature sensors. The fire prevention system can send alarm signals at the earliest stage of fire and can intelligently extinguish the fire, so that the disaster can be controlled and extinguished by taking measures in advance. Meanwhile, the system can continue to work even if one of the sensors is not working properly. © 2023 SPIE.

Chinese idioms on social media demand a nuanced understanding for correct usage. The Chinese idiom cloze test poses a unique challenge for machine reading comprehension due to the figurative meanings of idioms deviating from their literal interpretations, resulting in a semantic bias in models' comprehension of idioms. Furthermore, given that the figurative meanings of many idioms are similar, their use as suboptimal options can interfere with optimal selection. Despite achieving some success in the Chinese idiom cloze test, existing methods based on deep learning still struggle to comprehensively grasp idiom semantics due to the aforementioned issues. To tackle these challenges, we introduce a Refining Idioms Semantics Comprehension Framework (RISCF) to capture the comprehensive idioms semantics. Specifically, we propose a semantic sense contrastive learning module to enhance the representation of idiom semantics, diminishing the semantic bias between figurative and literal meanings of idioms. Meanwhile, we propose an interference-resistant cross-attention module to attenuate the interference of suboptimal options, which considers the interaction between the candidate idioms and the blank space in the context. Experimental results on the benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our RISCF model, significantly outperforming state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Urban travel data typically encompass various temporal and spatial scales and features. Nonetheless, existing traffic travel feature analysis often focuses on a single spatial scale, which may overlook crucial information and hinder features at different scales. Consequently, this could reduce the accuracy of travel pattern recognition. To solve this problem, we introduce a multi-scale fusion transformation algorithm. In our approach, we first establish a multi-level taxi travel data grid system. Then, we apply the I-Clique clustering algorithm to perform grid clustering at each level of the system to identify taxi travel feature regions of different scales. Subsequently, a multi-scale fusion pyramid model is constructed utilizing the acquired travel feature regions at various scales. Finally, we determine the transformation relationships between scales in the pyramid model, enabling the identification of travel feature areas across both known and unknown scales. This approach facilitates the recognition of travel features within cities at any scale. Experimental results demonstrate that the multi-scale fusion transformation algorithm enhances our understanding of spatial aggregation patterns and the hierarchical structure of geographical entities, offering a novel approach for multi-scale urban traffic analysis. © 2024 SPIE. Strong noise is one of the biggest challenges in controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) exploration, which severely affects the quality of the recorded signal. We develop a novel and effective CSEM noise attenuation method that integrates a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) with a high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism. This method first uses a DCNN to learn the large-scale noise characteristics of CSEM measured data and build a DCNN denoising model for attenuating the noise. Because some impulse noise remains after DCNN denoising, the high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism is innovatively applied to optimize the DCNN denoised data. The core of this method is the smoothness value (SV), which quantitatively evaluates the smoothness of the sounding curve (apparent resistivity curve). In effect, the mechanism segments the overall DCNN denoised data and calculates the corresponding sounding curve and its SV for each segment. The highest-quality sounding curve can be screened out by comparing the SVs of all curves as well as obtaining the highest-quality data segment present in the overall DCNN denoised data. Finally, our method is validated with synthetic and field data, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness in attenuating large-scale CSEM noise. The quality of CSEM data, which is heavily affected by noise, is significantly improved after processing by our method. © 2025 Society of Exploration Geophysicists. All rights reserved.

Event detection (ED) is a key subtask of information extraction to extract key events, such as stock rise and fall and social public opinion, from news or social media. Although current GCN-based event detection methods achieve remarkable success via building graphs with dependency trees, they typically suffer from two challenges: 1) They use sequence models to learn contextual information of sentences, ignoring the longterm dependencies problem of sequence models might learn ineffective information and make it propagate in GCN layers. 2) Most methods do not exploit global dependency label information and grammatical structure information that convey rich linguistic knowledge directly, and only consider local dependency label information. To cope with these challenges, we propose a novel event detection model via semantic-reconstructed graph transformer networks (SRGTNED), which incorporates semantic reconstruction and path information collection methods. Using the semantic reconstruction method, we assign a pruned sequence to each word based on the path information to capture contextual information consistent with sentence semantics. Moreover, to better utilize global dependency label information and grammatical structure information, a Graph Transformer Network (GTN)-based heterogeneous graph embedding framework is introduced to automatically learn path information between important words by converting sentences as heterogeneous graphs. We conduct experiments on the ACE2005 dataset and the Commodity News dataset, and the experimental results demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms 11 state-of-the-art baselines in terms of the F1-score.

Multivariate time series classification aims to determine the labels for multivariate time series samples. Although variable interaction relationships and sample similarity relationships exist in multivariate time series, the available related methods usually ignore the rich relationships and are ineffective in exploiting these. To solve this problem, we propose a Hierarchical Graph Embedding for Multivariate Time Series Classification (MTSC-HGE), which consists of a variable-wise attentive graph pooling module and a sample-wise graph convolutional module to obtain the relationships of variables and samples. Specifically, we design an attentive graph pooling module based on self-attention, which can obtain sample features fusing temporal patterns and variable interaction relationships in samples. Furthermore, we propose a graph mapping criterion that converts the MTS dataset into a graph based on dynamic time warping to explicitly reflect the similarity relationships between samples. To capture latent sample relationships, a GCN module is utilized on the sample graph to integrate sample features obtained from the attentive graph pool module. In addition, a classifier takes the rich representation output by the model to get the final predicted class. Extensive experiments on 14 public datasets show that MTSC-HGE significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines.

In order to study the characteristics of pure fly ash-based geopolymer concrete(PFGC)conveniently,we used a machine learning method that can quantify the perception of characteristics to predict its compressive *** this study,505 groups of data were collected,and a new database of compressive strength of PFGC was *** order to establish an accurate prediction model of compressive strength,five different types of machine learning networks were used for comparative *** five machine learning models all showed good compressive strength prediction performance on *** them,R2,MSE,RMSE and MAE of decision tree model(DT)are 0.99,1.58,1.25,and 0.25,*** R2,MSE,RMSE and MAE of random forest model(RF)are 0.97,5.17,2.27 and 1.38,*** two models have high prediction accuracy and outstanding generalization *** order to enhance the interpretability of model decision-making,we used importance ranking to obtain the perception of machine learning model to 13 *** 13 variables include chemical composition of fly ash(SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3),Si/Al),the ratio of alkaline liquid to the binder,curing temperature,curing durations inside oven,fly ash dosage,fine aggregate dosage,coarse aggregate dosage,extra water dosage and sodium hydroxide *** temperature,specimen ages and curing durations inside oven have the greatest influence on the prediction results,indicating that curing conditions have more prominent influence on the compressive strength of PFGC than ordinary Portland cement *** importance of curing conditions of PFGC even exceeds that of the concrete mix proportion,due to the low reactivity of pure fly ash.

PathReasoner: Modeling Reasoning Path with Equivalent Extension for Logical Question Answering

Logical reasoning task has attracted great interest since it was proposed. Faced with such a task, current competitive models, even large language models (e.g., ChatGPT and PaLM 2), still perform badly. Previous promising LMs struggle in logical consistency modeling and logical structure perception. To this end, we model the logical reasoning task by transforming each logical sample into reasoning paths and propose an architecture PathReasoner. It addresses the task from the views of both data and model. To expand the diversity of the logical samples, we propose an atom extension strategy supported by equivalent logical formulas, to form new reasoning paths. From the model perspective, we design a stack of transformer-style blocks. In particular, we propose a path-attention module to joint model in-atom and cross-atom relations with the high-order diffusion strategy. Experiments show that PathReasoner achieves competitive performances on two logical reasoning benchmarks and great generalization abilities. © 2024, CC BY.
