The existing models have been achieved great success in capturing and fusing miltimodal semantics of news. However, they paid more attention to the global information, ignoring the interactions of global and local semantics and the inconsistency between different modalities. Therefore, we propose an explainable multi-view semantic fusion model (EMSFM), where we aggregate the important inconsistent semantics from local and global views to compensate the global information. Inspired by various forms of artificial fake news and real news, we summarize four views of multimodal correlation: consistency and inconsistency in the local and global views. Integrating these four views, our EMSFM can interpretatively establish global and local fusion between consistent and inconsistent semantics in multimodal relations for fake news detection. The extensive experimental results show that the EMSFM can improve the performance of multimodal fake news detection and provide a novel paradigm for explainable multi-view semantic fusion.

Open intent classification is critical for the development of dialogue systems, aiming to accurately classify known intents into their corresponding classes while identifying unknown intents. Prior boundary-based methods assumed known intents fit within compact spherical regions, focusing on coarse-grained representation and precise spherical decision boundaries. However, these assumptions are often violated in practical scenarios, making it difficult to distinguish known intent classes from unknowns using a single spherical boundary. To tackle these issues, we propose a Multi-granularity Open intent classification method via adaptive Granular-Ball decision boundary (MOGB). Our MOGB method consists of two modules: representation learning and decision boundary acquiring. To effectively represent the intent distribution, we design a hierarchical representation learning method. This involves iteratively alternating between adaptive granular-ball clustering and nearest sub-centroid classification to capture fine-grained semantic structures within known intent classes. Furthermore, multi-granularity decision boundaries are constructed for open intent classification by employing granular-balls with varying centroids and radii. Block-Structured Optimization for Subgraph Detection in Interdependent Networks

We propose a generalized framework for block-structured nonconvex optimization, which can be applied to structured subgraph detection in interdependent networks, such as multi-layer networks, temporal networks, networks of networks, and many others. Specifically, we design an effective, efficient, and parallelizable projection algorithm, namely Graph Block-structured Gradient Projection (GBGP), to optimize a general non-linear function subject to graph-structured constraints. We prove that our algorithm: 1) runs in nearly-linear time on the network size;2) enjoys a theoretical approximation guarantee. Moreover, we demonstrate how our framework can be applied to two very practical applications and conduct comprehensive experiments to show the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed algorithm. Multimodal fake news detection has become a topical research of fake news detection. Existing models have made great efforts in capturing and fusing multimodal semantics of news for classification. However, they overlooked mitigating inconsistency between different modalities, which may result in learning biased statistical information. Therefore, we propose a mitigating multimodal inconsistency contrastive learning framework (MMICF), which mitigates inconsistency in multi-modal relations for fake news detection. Inspired by various forms of artificial fake news, we summarize two patterns of multimodal inconsistency: local and global inconsistency. To mitigate local inconsistency in multimodal relations, we use a causal-relation reasoning module by causally removing the direct effects of the textual and visual entities. Considering the influence of global inconsistency in multimodal semantics, our contrastive learning framework mitigates the semantic deviation of contrastive text-image objectives, which are constrained into a unified semantic space by a modal unified module. Thus, our MMICF can jointly mitigate local and global inconsistency for further maximally exploiting multimodal consistent semantics for fake news detection. The extensive experimental results show that the MMICF can improve the performance of multimodal fake news detection and provide a novel paradigm for mitigating multimodal inconsistency contrastive learning.

Various forms of social interactions are often char-acterized by toxic or offensive words that can be collectively referred to as offensive languages, which has become a unique linguistic phenomenon in social media platforms. How to detect and identify these offensive languages in social media platforms has become one of the important research in the field of natural language processing. Existing methods utilize machine learning algorithms or text representation models based on deep learning to learn the features of offensive languages and identify them, which have achieved good performances. However, traditional machine learning-based methods mainly rely on keyword identi-fication and blocking, deep learning-based methods do not ade-quately explore the fused deep semantic features of the content by combining word-level embeddings and sentence-level deep semantic feature representations of sentences, which cannot ef-fectively identify offensive languages that do not contain common offensive words but indicate offensive meanings. In this research, we propose a novel offensive language identification model based on deep semantic feature fusion, which uses the pre-trained model Bert to obtain word-level embedding representations of offensive languages, and then integrates the RCNN that combines with the attention mechanism to extract the fused deep semantic feature representations of offensive languages, and label encoder and offensive predictor to improve the identification accuracy and generalization ability of the model so that the performances of the model do not rely on the offensive language lexicon entirely and can identify offensive languages that do not contain common offensive words but indicate offensive meanings. Experimental results on Wikipedia and Twitter comment datasets show that our proposed model can better understand the context and discover potential offensive meanings, and outperforms existing methods.

Crowdsourcing is a cheap and popular method to solve problems that are difficult for computers to handle. Due to the differences in ability among workers on crowdsourcing platforms, existing research use aggregation strategies to deal with the labels of different workers to improve the utility of crowdsourcing data. However, most of these studies are based on probabilistic graphical models, which have problems such as difficulty in setting initial parameters. This paper proposes a novel crowdsourcing method Truth Inference based on Graph Embedding (TIGE) for single-choice questions, the method draws on the idea of graph autoencoder, constructs feature vectors for each crowdsourcing task, embeds the relationship between crowdsourcing tasks and workers in graphs, then uses graph neural networks to convert crowdsourcing problems into graph node prediction problems. The feature vectors are continuously optimized in the convolutional layer to obtain the final result. Compared with the six state-of-the-art algorithms on real-world datasets, our method has significant advantages in accuracy and F1-score.

Few clustering methods show good performance on multivariate time series (MTS) data. Traditional methods rely too much on similarity measures and perform poorly on the MTS data with complex structures. This paper proposes an MTS clustering algorithm based on graph embedding called MTSC-GE to improve the performance of MTS clustering. MTSC-GE can map MTS samples to the feature representations in a low-dimensional space and then cluster them. While mining the information of the samples themselves, MTSC-GE builds the whole time series data into a graph, paying attention to the connections between samples from an overall perspective and discovering the local structural feature of MTS data. The proposed MTSC-G E consists of three stages. The first stage builds a graph using the original dataset, where each of the MTS samples is regarded as a node in the graph. The second stage uses the graph embedding technique to obtain a new representation of each node. Finally, MTSC-G E uses the K - Means algorithm to cluster based on the newly obtained representation. We compare MTSC-GE with six state-of-the-art benchmark methods on five public datasets, experimental results show that MTSC-GE has achieved good performance.

In brain-like research, investigating the impact of heterogeneous neurons on specific neural network structures is of significant importance. In this paper, a heterogeneous memristive synapse-coupled system (HMSCS) is proposed, which is coupled by Hindmarsh–Rose (HR) and unidirectional cyclic Hopfield neural network (HNN), and is established by presenting a new locally active memristor with multi-stable behavior to simulate the synaptic connection between HR neuron and HNN. The dynamic analysis results show that the locally active region of the memristor can significantly affect the chaos range of HMSCS, and the initial value of the memristor can drive a shift in the phase of the attractor, resulting in extreme multistability. In addition, the numerical analyses are validated by circuit design and simulation. Furthermore, a novel medical image encryption scheme is proposed based on the HMSCS chaotic system, in which an improved Hilbert curve permutation method is given, where the traversal direction and starting point of the Hilbert curve are dynamically selected in each round, thereby effectively enhance permutation performance. Additionally, a region-constrained initial value mapping method is proposed to prevent multistability systems from entering periodic orbits due to improper initial value selection, which is a common problem in existing multistability chaotic systems applied to image encryption. Some common security analyses results show that our proposed encryption scheme has excellent security performance for medical image application scenarios.

Most of existing neural methods for multi-objective combinatorial optimization (MOCO) problems solely rely on decomposition, which often leads to repetitive solutions for the respective subproblems, thus a limited Pareto set. Beyond decomposition, we propose a novel neural heuristic with diversity enhancement (NHDE) to produce more Pareto solutions from two perspectives. On the one hand, to hinder duplicated solutions for different subproblems, we propose an indicator-enhanced deep reinforcement learning method to guide the model, and design a heterogeneous graph attention mechanism to capture the relations between the instance graph and the Pareto front graph. On the other hand, to excavate more solutions in the neighborhood of each subproblem, we present a multiple Pareto optima strategy to sample and preserve desirable solutions. Experimental results on classic MOCO problems show that our NHDE is able to generate a Pareto front with higher diversity, thereby achieving superior overall performance. Resilient Collaborative Caching for Multi-Edge Systems with Robust Federated Deep Learning

As a key technique for future networks, the performance of emerging multi-edge caching is often limited by inefficient collaboration among edge nodes and improper resource configuration. Meanwhile, achieving optimal cache hit rates poses substantive challenges without effectively capturing the potential relations between discrete user features and diverse content libraries. These challenges become further sophisticated when caching schemes are exposed to adversarial attacks that seriously impair cache performance. To address these challenges, we introduce RoCoCache, a resilient collaborative caching framework that uniquely integrates robust federated deep learning with proactive caching strategies, enhancing performance under adversarial conditions. First, we design a novel partitioning mechanism for multi-dimensional cache space, enabling precise content recommendations in user classification intervals. Next, we develop a new Discrete-Categorical Variational Auto-Encoder (DC-VAE) to accurately predict content popularity by overcoming posterior collapse. Finally, we create an original training mode and proactive cache replacement strategy based on robust federated deep learning. Notably, the residual-based detection for adversarial model updates and similarity-based federated aggregation are integrated to avoid the model destruction caused by adversarial updates, which enables the proactive cache replacement adapting to optimized cache resources and thus enhances cache performance. Using the real-world testbed and datasets, extensive experiments verify that the RoCoCache achieves higher cache hit rates and efficiency than state-of-the-art methods while ensuring better robustness. Moreover, we validate the effectiveness of the components designed in RoCoCache for improving cache performance via ablation studies. © 1993-2012 IEEE.
