In the Internet of things (IoT) era, vehicles and other intelligent components in an intelligent transportation system (ITS) are connected, forming vehicular networks (VNs) that provide efficient and safe traffic and ubiquitous access to various applications. However, as the number of nodes in an ITS increases, it is challenging to satisfy a varied and large number of service requests with different quality of service (QoS) and security requirements in highly dynamic VNs. Intelligent nodes in VNs can compete or cooperate for limited network resources to achieve the objective for either an individual or a group. Game theory (GT), a theoretical framework designed for strategic interactions among rational decision makers sharing scarce resources, can be used to model and analyze individual or group behaviors of communicating entities in VNs. This paper primarily surveys the recent developments of GT in solving various challenges of VNs. This survey starts with an introduction to the background of VNs. A review of GT models studied in the VNs is then introduced, including the basic concepts, classifications, and applicable vehicular issues. After discussing the requirements of VNs and the motivation of using GT, a comprehensive literature review on GT applications in dealing with the challenges of current VNs is provided. Furthermore, recent contributions of GT to VNs that are integrated with diverse emerging 5G technologies are surveyed. Finally, the lessons learned are given, and several key research challenges and possible solutions of applying GT in VNs are outlined. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Social hierarchies emerged during evolution,and social rank influences behavior and health of ***,the evolutionary mechanisms of social hierarchy are still unknown in *** we developed a new method and performed a genome-wide screening for identifying regions with accelerated evolution in the ancestral lineage of placental mammals,where mammalian social hierarchies might have initially *** functional analyses were conducted for the most accelerated region designated as placental-accelerated sequence 1 (PAS1,P=3.15 × 10-18).Multiple pieces of evidence show that PAS1 is an enhancer of the transcription factor gene Lhx2 involved in brain ***1s isolated from various amniotes showed different cis-regulatory activity in vitro,and affected the expression of Lhx2 differently in the nervous system of mouse ***1 knock-out mice lack social ***1 knock-in mouse models demonstrate that PAS1s determine the social dominance and subordinate of adult mice,and that social ranks could even be turned over by mutated *** homozygous mutant mice had normal huddled sleeping behavior,motor coordination and ***,PAS1-Lhx2 modulates social hierarchies and is essential for establishing social stratification in amniotes,and positive Darwinian selection on PAS1 plays pivotal roles in the occurrence of mammalian social hierarchies.

The Industrial Internet of Things or Industry 4.0 efficiently enhances the manufacturing process in terms of raising productivity, system performance, cost reduction, and building large-scale systems. It enables the connection of numerous heterogeneous devices and sensors into the internet network through the utilization of revolutionary techniques that transfer the manufacturing paradigm to intelligent processes. The traditional industrial internet of things adopts centralized architectures and complex encryption algorithms that suffer from several cyber-security threats and lead to data leakage, privacy disclosure, and high computational and communicational costs. In our work, we proposed a decentralized, efficient, low-power, scalable, secure, privacy-preserving, and trusting architecture based on a private blockchain network/smart contract and interplanetary file system technology for the Al-NajafyIraq oil refinery factory. That enables autonomous working and provides a high level of security authentication and privacy preservation, P2P communication, remote access, immutability and information backtracking. Traditional blockchain technology has storage limitation issues, most recent works adopted external servers or the cloud for storage purposes. Our proposed scheme addresses the limitations of blockchain data storage by adopting an interplanetary file system (IPFS) network; provides an efficient data encryption mechanism at the perceptual layer by adopting a lightweight encryption algorithm, high-performance, and ultra-low-power consumption ARM Cortex-M microcontroller. In addition, our architecture succeeds in merging blockchain technology, IoTs, and an IPFS with the oil refinery as an industrial application area. Moreover, it provides an efficient framework that resists common cyber-security attacks and realizes cyber-security requirements represented by data availability, integrity, and confidentiality.

A large amount of data streams in the form of texts and images has been emerging in many real-world applications. These data streams often present the characteristics such as multi-labels, label missing and new class emerging, which makes the existing data stream classification algorithm face the challenges in precision space and time performance. This is because, on the one hand, it is known that data stream classification algorithms are mostly trained on all labeled single-class data, while there are a large amount of unlabeled data and few labeled data due to it is difficult to obtain labels in the real world. On the other hand, many of existing multi-label data stream classification algorithms mostly focused on the classification with all labeled data and without emerging new classes, and there are few semi-supervised methods. Therefore, this paper proposes a semi-supervised ensemble classification algorithm for multi-label data streams based on co-training. Firstly, the algorithm uses the sliding window mechanism to partition the data stream into data chunks. On the former w data chucks, the multi-label semi-supervised classification algorithm COINS based on co-training is used to training a base classifier on each chunk, and then an ensemble model with w COINS classifiers is generated ensemble model to adapt to the environment of data stream with a large number of unlabeled data. Meanwhile, a new class emerging detection mechanism is introduced, and the w+1 data chunk is predicted by the ensemble model to detect whether there is a new class emerging. When a new label is detected, the classifier is retrained on the current data chunk, and the ensemble model is updated. Finally, experimental results on five real data sets show that: as compared with the classical algorithms, the proposed approach can improve the classification accuracy of multi-label data streams with a large number of missing labels and new labels emerging.

Deep Domain Adaptation for Pavement Crack Detection

Deep learning-based pavement cracks detection methods often require large-scale labels with detailed crack location information to learn accurate predictions. In practice, however, crack locations are very difficult to be manually annotated due to various visual patterns of pavement crack. In this paper, we propose a Deep Domain Adaptation-based Crack Detection Network (DDACDN), which learns domain invariant features by taking advantage of the source domain knowledge to predict the multi-category crack location information in the target domain, where only image-level labels are available. Specifically, DDACDN first extracts crack features from both the source and target domain by a two-branch weights-shared backbone network. And in an effort to achieve the cross-domain adaptation, an intermediate domain is constructed by aggregating the three-scale features from the feature space of each domain to adapt the crack features from the source domain to the target domain. Finally, the network involves the knowledge of both domains and is trained to recognize and localize pavement cracks. To facilitate accurate training and validation for domain adaptation, we use two challenging pavement crack datasets CQU-BPDD and RDD2020. Furthermore, we construct a new large-scale Bituminous Pavement Multi-label Disease dataset named CQU-BPMDD, which contains 38994 high-resolution pavement disease images to further evaluate the robustness of our model. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DDACDN outperforms state-of-the-art pavement crack detection methods in predicting the crack location on the target domain. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. The bulk of existing Federated Learning (FL) algorithms pay attention to supervised setting and assume that clients have fully labeled data. However, it may be impractical for all clients to obtain plenty of labels due to high annotation costs. Hence, the Federated Semi-Supervised Learning (FSSL) as a promising paradigm has better prospect in many realistic applications (e.g. medical scenario). Under Labels-at-Server scenario, most pseudo labeling based FSSL approaches use only the global model to generate pseudo-labels for unlabeled data, while the local models are ignored. When the local data distribution is much more different from the central server (e.g., Non-IID setting), the generated pseudo-labels may contain much noise, thus, resulting in more serious confirmation bias. To tackle the crucial issue, a novel Federated Semi-Supervised Learning via Joint Local and Global Pseudo Labeling (FedLGMatch) framework is proposed in this paper. The prominent advantage of the proposed FedLGMatch is that it allows local models trained in the last communication round to assist global model in generating pseudo-labels, which successfully emphasizes more clean pseudo-label learning at each client. Experimental results also show that FedLGMatch achieves significant performance improvements than other state-of-the-art models on the standard benchmark datasets. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

RAKA: Co-training of relationships and attributes for cross-lingual knowledge alignment

Cross-lingual knowledge alignment suffers from the attribute heterogeneity when leveraging the attributes and also suffers from the conflicts when combing the results inferred from attributes and relationships. This paper proposes an interaction-based attribute model to capture the attribute-level interactions for estimating entity similarities, eliminating the negative impact of the dissimilar attributes. A matrix-based strategy is adopted in the model to accelerate the similarity estimation. We further propose a co-training framework together with three merge strategies to combine the alignments inferred by the attribute model and the relationship model. The whole framework can effectively and efficiently infer the aligned entities, relationships, attributes, and values simultaneously. Experimental results on several cross-lingual knowledge datasets show that our model significantly outperforms state-of-the-art comparison methods (improving 2.35-51.57% in terms of Hit Ratio@1). In this work, we propose a novel generative approach named Robust Bidirectional Generative Network (RBGN) based on Conditional Generative Adversarial Network (CGAN) for Generalized Zero-shot Learning (GZSL). RBGN employs the adversarial attack to train a more rigorous discriminator, thus enhancing the generalizability and robustness of the feature generator under minimax strategy. Moreover, RBGN decodes the generated visual features back to their semantic representations to further improve the representational ability of generated visual features and alleviate the hubness problem. The experimental results of GZSL on four datasets, i.e. CUB, SUN, AWA1, AWA2, demonstrate that our model achieves competitive performance compared to state-of-the-art approaches and owns better generalizability to the unseen classes over conventional generative GZSL models. Further robustness analysis also validates the strong robustness of our model to the different types of semantic disturbance.

To explore the robustness of recommender systems, researchers have proposed various shilling attack models and analyzed their adverse effects. Primitive attacks are highly feasible but less effective due to simplistic handcrafted rules, while upgraded attacks are more powerful but costly and difficult to deploy because they require more knowledge from recommendations. In this paper, we explore a novel shilling attack called Graph cOnvolution-based generative shilling ATtack (GOAT) to balance the attacks' feasibility and effectiveness. GOAT adopts the primitive attacks' paradigm that assigns items for fake users by sampling and the upgraded attacks' paradigm that generates fake ratings by a deep learning-based model. It deploys a generative adversarial network (GAN) that learns the real rating distribution to generate fake ratings. Additionally, the generator combines a tailored graph convolution structure that leverages the correlations between co-rated items to smoothen the fake ratings and enhance their authenticity. The extensive experiments on two public datasets evaluate GOAT's performance from multiple perspectives. Our study of the GOAT demonstrates technical feasibility for building a more powerful and intelligent attack model with a much-reduced cost, enables analysis the threat of such an attack and guides for investigating necessary prevention measures. The field of Information Systems (ISs) has long been recognized, so has Enterprise Information Systems (EISs), a field close to it. Long existing also in organizations or enterprises is the field of records management, now predominantly digital records management (DRM), which shares the many goals of ISs and EISs in supporting the operation and success of organizations. While the DRM field recognized rather early in its battle to digital records challenges that the need to establish formal collaborations with the ISs and EISs professions, it is still rare to spot today discussions regarding such collaborations in the general information and communication technology (ICT) literature.
