Anomaly detection aims to find outliers data that do not conform to expected behaviors in a specific scenario, which is indispensable and critical in current safety environments related studies. However, when performing outlier detection on a large-scale multidimensional dataset, most of the traditional methods make no distinctions between classes of outliers and lack the reasoning ability and the explainability of the analysis results, which leads to the low accuracy of global outlier detection and the inability to effectively identify local outliers. In this paper, we propose a fine-grained anomaly detection method which well utilizes isolation forest and knowledge graph reasoning tactics. First, a better extracting data feature method and a more reasonable weighted strategy are used to find global outliers based on the traditional isolation forest algorithm, and then we construct a custom rule base according to the in-depth research and analysis of global abnormal data, and at last the ontology knowledge is reasoned based on such rule base to achieve the detection of local outliers. Through analysis of extensive experiment results, our method could effectively discover more abnormal data without big loss of time costs, has strong generalization, and correspondingly improves the performance for abnormal detection. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Bilingual lexicon induction (BLI) can transfer knowledgefrom well- to under- resourced language, and has been widelyapplied to various NLP tasks. Recent work on BLI is projection-based that learns a mapping to connect source and target embedding spaces, with the isomorphism assumption. Unfortunately, the isomorphism assumption doesn't hold gener-ally, especially in typologically distant language pairs. Moreover, without supervised signals guiding, the training will further com-plicates BLI, making the performance of unsupervised methods unsatisfactory. To broke the restrict of isomorphism, we propose a semi-supervised method for distant BLI tasks, named A Semi-supervised Bilingual Lexicon Induction method in Latent Space based on Bidirectional Adversarial Model. First, two latent spaces are learned by two autoencoders for source and target domain independently to weaken the constraint of isomorphism in the embedding spaces. Then we add a few pairs of dictionary to learn the initial mapping to connect the Latent Space. Last, based on initial mapping, Cycle-Consistency is combined with Distance constraint constraint to maintain the geometry structure of both embedding spaces stable in the learning of bi-direction mapping based on adversarial model. By conducting extensive experiments, our method gets state-of-the-art results on most language pairs, especially with significant improvements on distant language pairs. © 2021 IEEE.

As the function of the decomposition of fungi has been clearly researched in the global carbon cycle,it is obviously of value to explore the decomposition rate of fungal *** study analyzed the relationship between environmental factors and biodiversity step by *** order to explore the interaction between the fungi and the relationship between the decomposition rate of fungi with time,the model based on the Logistic model was built and the Lotka-Volterra model was employed in the condition of two kinds of fungi existing in an environment with limited *** changing trend of population number and decomposition rate of several fungi under different environmental conditions can be predicted through the *** illustrate the applicability of the model,Laetiporus conifericola and Hyphoderma setigerum were applied as *** results showed that the higher the degree of population diversity,the greater the decomposition rate,and the higher the decomposition efficiency of the *** rich species diversity is conducive to accelerating the decomposition of litter,lignocellulose,and the circulation of the entire *** on the above model and using the data from measuring the mycelial elongation rate of each isolate at 10℃,16℃,and 22℃ under standardized laboratory conditions,the growth patterns of the five fungi combinations were *** results revealed a general increase in growth rate with increasing temperature,which verifies the accuracy of the ***,it also revealed that the total decomposition rate after fungal incorporation was negatively correlated with the decomposition rate of a fungal single *** on the above model,predictions can be made for fungal growth in different environments,and suitable environments for fungal growth can be *** the future,the model can be further optimized,and lignin and cellulose decomposition factors can be added to fit the decomposition of *** application

TraSculptor: Visual Analytics for Enhanced Decision-Making in Road Traffic Planning

The design of urban road networks significantly influences traffic conditions, underscoring the importance of informed traffic planning. Traffic planning experts rely on specialized platforms to simulate traffic systems, assessing the efficacy of the road network across various states of modifications. Nevertheless, a prevailing issue persists: many existing traffic planning platforms exhibit inefficiencies in flexibly interacting with the road network's structure and attributes and intuitively comparing multiple states during the iterative planning process. This paper introduces TraSculptor, an interactive planning decision-making system. To develop TraSculptor, we identify and address two challenges: interactive modification of road networks and intuitive comparison of multiple network states. For the first challenge, we establish flexible interactions to enable experts to easily and directly modify the road network on the map. For the second challenge, we design a comparison view with a history tree of multiple states and a road-state matrix to facilitate intuitive comparison of road network states. To evaluate TraSculptor, we provided a usage scenario where the Braess's paradox was showcased, invited experts to perform a case study on the Sioux Falls network, and collected expert feedback through interviews. © 1995-2012 IEEE.

Few-shot knowledge graph completion (FKGC), which aims to infer missing facts about a relation from only a few reference triples, has recently attracted great attention. The core of solving the FKGC task is to learn a vector representation for each few-shot relation using the corresponding entity represen-tations. To this end, existing models generally enhance entity representations with their direct neighbors. However, a large number of entities have few direct neighbors. Hence, encoding only direct neighborhood is insufficient to obtain satisfactory en-tity representations. In addition, current models typically utilize static embeddings to represent entities, ignoring their diverse semantics, i.e., an entity may show distinct semantics within different few-shot relations. To address these issues, we propose a new FKGC framework, namely TransD-based Multi-hop Meta Learning (TDML). TDML consists of three main components: a multi-hop neighbor encoder to enhance entity representations by aggregating heterogeneous multi-hop neighbors, a transformer encoder to generate the relation meta representations, and a TransD-based relation representation updater that allows each entity to exhibit relation-specific semantics and tune the relation meta representations. Extensive experiments on two public datasets demonstrate that our model outperforms state-of-the-art FKGC methods.

PCQPR: Proactive Conversational Question Planning with Reflection

Conversational Question Generation (CQG) enhances the interactivity of conversational question-answering systems in fields such as education, customer service, and entertainment. However, traditional CQG, focusing primarily on the immediate context, lacks the conversational foresight necessary to guide conversations toward specified conclusions. This limitation significantly restricts their ability to achieve conclusion-oriented conversational outcomes. In this work, we redefine the CQG task as Conclusion-driven Conversational Question Generation (CCQG) by focusing on proactivity, not merely reacting to the unfolding conversation but actively steering it towards a conclusion-oriented question-answer pair. To address this, we propose a novel approach, called Proactive Conversational Question Planning with self- Refining (PCQPR). Concretely, by integrating a planning algorithm inspired by Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) with the analytical capabilities of large language models (LLMs), PCQPR predicts future conversation turns and continuously refines its questioning strategies. This iterative self-refining mechanism ensures the generation of contextually relevant questions strategically devised to reach a specified outcome. Our extensive evaluations demonstrate that PCQPR significantly surpasses existing CQG methods, marking a paradigm shift towards conclusion-oriented conversational question-answering systems. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

Fine-grained Cross-modal Fusion based Refinement for Text-to-Image Synthesis

Text-to-image synthesis refers to generating visual-realistic and semantically consistent images from given textual descriptions. Previous approaches generate an initial low-resolution image and then refine it to be high-resolution. Despite the remarkable progress, these methods are limited in fully utilizing the given texts and could generate text-mismatched images, especially when the text description is complex. We propose a novel Fine-grained text-image Fusion based Generative Adversarial Networks, dubbed FF-GAN, which consists of two modules: Fine-grained text-image Fusion Block (FF-Block) and Global Semantic Refinement (GSR). The proposed FF-Block integrates an attention block and several convolution layers to effectively fuse the fine-grained word-context features into the corresponding visual features, in which the text information is fully used to refine the initial image with more details. And the GSR is proposed to improve the global semantic consistency between linguistic and visual features during the refinement process. As a cutting-edge innovative method and tool, Design Thinking has effectively promoted many changes in global business, social and education fields in recent years. This work briefly introduces Design Thinking and related teaching reform, and then summarizes two problems in existing engineering practice teaching. In view of these problems, this work introduces Design Thinking into engineering practice teaching. As its core, Design Thinking Workshops are well designated and organized. Two-semesters explorations show that under the guidance of Design Thinking, engineering practice teaching is more attractive and effective. It can not only help engineering students learn to empathize with end-users and cultivate innovative thinking, but also improve their ability to identify and address real problems. © 2022 ACM.

Multi-Label Truth Inference for Crowdsourcing Using Mixture Models

When acquiring labels from crowdsourcing platforms, a task may be designed to include multiple labels and the values of each label may belong to a set of various distinct options, which is the so-called multi-class multi-label annotation. To improve the quality of labels, requesters usually let one task be independently completed by a group of heterogeneous crowdsourced workers. Then, the true values of the multiple labels of each task are inferred from these repeated noisy labels. In this paper, we propose two novel probabilistic models MCMLI and MCMLD to address the multi-class multi-label inference problem in crowdsourcing. MCMLI assumes that the labels of each task are mutually independent and MCMLD utilizes a mixture of multiple independently multinoulli distributions to capture the correlation among the labels. Both models can jointly infer multiple true labels of each instance as well as estimate the reliability of crowdsourced workers modeled by a set of confusion matrices with an expectation-maximization algorithm. Experiments with three typical crowdsourcing scenarios and a real-world dataset show that our proposed models significantly outperform existing competitive alternatives. When the labels are strongly correlated, MCMLD substantially outperforms MCMLI. Furthermore, our models can be easily simplified to the one-coin models, which show more advantageous when errors are uniformly distributed, or labels are sparse. © 1989-2012 IEEE.

Human pose estimation in videos has long been a compelling yet challenging task within the realm of computer vision. Nevertheless, this task remains difficult because of the complex video scenes, such as video defocus and self-occlusion. Recent methods strive to integrate multi-frame visual features generated by a backbone network for pose estimation. However, they often ignore the useful joint information encoded in the initial heatmap, which is a by-product of the backbone generation. Comparatively, methods that attempt to refine the initial heatmap fail to consider any spatio-temporal motion features. As a result, the performance of existing methods for pose estimation falls short due to the lack of ability to leverage both local joint (heatmap) information and global motion (feature) dynamics. To address this problem, we propose a novel joint-motion mutual learning framework for pose estimation, which effectively concentrates on both local joint dependency and global pixel-level motion dynamics. Specifically, we introduce a context-aware joint learner that adaptively leverages initial heatmaps and motion flow to retrieve robust local joint feature. Given that local joint feature and global motion flow are complementary, we further propose a progressive joint-motion mutual learning that synergistically exchanges information and interactively learns between joint feature and motion flow to improve the capability of the model. More importantly, to capture more diverse joint and motion cues, we theoretically analyze and propose an information orthogonality objective to avoid learning redundant information from multi-cues. Empirical experiments show our method outperforms prior arts on three challenging benchmarks. © 2024 ACM.
