Insight into catalytic performance and reaction mechanism for toluene total oxidation over Cu-Ce supported catalyst

Herein,three supported catalysts,CuO/Al_(2)O_(3),CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3),and CuO-CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3),were synthesized by the convenient impregnation method to reveal the effect of CeO_(2)addition on catalytic performance and reaction mechanism for toluene *** with CuO/Al_(2)O_(3),the T_(50)and T_(90)(the temperatures at 50%and 90%toluene conversion,respectively)of CuO-CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)were reduced by 33 and 39°C,respectively.N_(2)adsorptiondesorption experiment,XRD,SEM,EDS mapping,Raman,EPR,H_(2)-TPR,O_(2)-TPD,XPS,NH_(3)-TPD,Toluene-TPD,and in-situ DRIFTS were conducted to characterize these *** excellent catalytic performance of CuO-CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)could be attributed to its strong coppercerium interaction and high oxygen vacancies ***,in-situ DRIFTS proved that CuO-CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)promoted the conversion of toluene to benzoate and accelerated the deep degradation path of *** work provided valuable insights into the development of efficient and economical catalysts for volatile organic compounds.

DDQN-Based Hybrid Routing Protocol for UWSNs with Void Repair Mechanism

To address the challenges of low delivery rate in proactive routing protocols and high forwarding delay in opportunistic routing protocols caused by network sparsity, node mobility, and localization difficulties in dynamic underwater sensor networks (UWSNs), this study proposes a hybrid routing protocol based on Double Deep Q-Network (DDQN), termed HR-DDQN. This protocol prioritizes proactive forwarding to reduce holding delay and energy consumption, and employs opportunistic forwarding for path repair in case of failure. To improve the success rate of proactive forwarding, the proposed protocol uses DDQN to train the next-hop routing strategy, considering factors such as neighbor distance, speed, depth, and energy to avoid selecting unreliable forwarding targets. The protocol leverages the advantages of nodes' active movement and the favorable hydroacoustic propagation properties of the sound channel axis to design a void repair mechanism. When even opportunistic forwarding is insufficient to repair the forwarding link, nodes actively adjust their depth for connectivity repair, thereby improving the route delivery rate in sparse networks. Simulations on NS3 demonstrate that the proposed protocol significantly optimizes packet delivery rates in sparse networks and has lower forwarding delay compared to opportunistic routing protocols. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Nitrosamines are a class of carcinogens which have been detected widely in food,water,some pharmaceuticals as well as *** objectives of this paper include reviewing the basic information on tobacco consumption and nitrosamine contents,and assessing the health risks of tobacco nitrosamines exposure to Chinese *** searched the publications in English from“Web of Science”and those in Chinese from the“China National Knowledge Infrastructure”in 2022 and collected 151 literatures with valid *** content of main nitrosamines in tobacco,including 4-(methylnitrosoamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone(NNK),N-nitrosonornicotine(NNN),N-nitrosoanatabine(NAT),N-nitrosoanabasine(NAB),total tobacco-specific nitrosamines(TSNA),and N-nitrosodimethylamine(NDMA)were *** information of daily tobacco consumption of smokers in 30 provinces of China was also ***,the intakes of NNN,NNK,NAT,NAB,TSNAs,and NDMA via tobacco smoke were estimated as 1534ng/day,591 ng/day,685 ng/day,81 ng/day,2543 ng/day,and 484 ng/day by adult smokers in30 provinces,*** cancer risk(CR)values for NNN and NNK inhalation intake were further calculated as 1.44×10^(-5)and 1.95×10^(-4).The CR value for NDMA intake via tobacco smoke(inhalation:1.66×10^(-4))indicates that NDMA is similarly dangerous in tobacco smoke when compared with the *** China,the CR values caused by average nitrosamines intake via various exposures and their order can be estimated as the following:smoke(3.75×10^(-4))>food(1.74×10^(-4))>drinking water(1.38×10^(-5)).Smokers in China averagely suffer 200%of extra cancer risk caused by nitrosamines in tobacco when compared with non-smokers.

CuInS2/ZnS QDs-based fluorescent probe for detection of Cu2+

High concentrations of Cu2+exceeding what the required level for the cellular process can changes the properties of protein, affects the normal function of the body, but also affect the body's metabolism, so that the body's immunity appears to decline. Detection of Cu2+is important for the environmental monitoring. Here, a fluorescence probe that uses heavy metal-free and properties-superior CuInS2/ZnS was proposed for detection of Cu2+. The fluorescence intensity of CuInS2/ZnS quantum dots（QDs） decreased obviously after Cu2+were added,and the intensity with the concentration of Cu2+showed excellent linear relation within the scope of 0–50 μM, the LOD down to 0.45 μM, a possible detection mechanism was analyzed. The QDs was further applied to the detection of Cu2+in drinking water, manifesting the foreground of the current strategy.

Microstructure and mechanical properties stability of pre-hardening treatment in Al-Cu alloys for pre-hardening forming process

The stability of the microstructure and mechanical properties of the pre-hardened sheets during the pre-hardening forming(PHF)process directly determines the quality of the formed *** microstructure stability of the pre-hardened sheets was in-vestigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and small angle X-ray scattering(SAXS),while the mechanical properties and formability were analyzed through uniaxial tensile tests and formability *** results in-dicate that the mechanical properties of the pre-hardened alloys exhibited negligible changes after experiencing 1-month natural aging(NA).The deviations of ultimate tensile strength(UTS),yield strength(YS),and sheet formability(Erichsen value)are all less than 2%.Also,after different NA time(from 48 h to 1 month)is applied to alloys before pre-hardening treatment,the pre-hardened alloys possess stable microstructure and mechanical properties as ***,with the extension of NA time before pre-hardening treatment from 48 h to 1 month,the contribution of NA to the pre-hardening treatment is *** a yield strength increment of 20 MPa is achieved,with no loss in *** limited enhancement is mainly attributed to the fact that only a limited number of clusters are transformed into Guinier-Preston(GP)zones at the early stage of pre-hardening treatment,and the formation ofθ''phase inhibits the nucleation and growth of GP zones as the precipitated phase evolves.

Experimental Investigation of the Hydrodynamic Characteristics of A Modular Floating Structure System Integrated with WEC-Type Floating Artificial Reefs

Integrating wave energy converters(WECs)with offshore platforms offers numerous advantages,such as reducing wave loads,supplying energy to the platform,and cost-sharing in *** paper reports an experimental investigation focusing on the hydrodynamic characteristics of a proposed modular floating structure system integrated with WEC-type floating artificial *** proposed system comprises several serially arranged hexagonal floating structures,anchored by tension legs,and integrated with outermost WEC-type floating artificial reefs.A simplified wave energy converter utilizing the relative pitch motion between adjacent modules for energy conversion was constructed in the scale model *** effects of chain-type modular expansion on the multi-body motion response,mooring tension response,and WEC performance of the system have been thoroughly *** experimental results indicate that increasing the number of hexagonal modules can notably reduce the system’s surge response,particularly under survival sea *** connection of the outermost reef modules slightly increases the tension leg load of the adjacent module,whereas the tension leg load remains relatively consistent across the inner hexagonal ***,through a comparison of the dynamic responses of the hexagonal module connected and unconnected outermost reefs,the good performance in terms of energy conversion and wave attenuation of the WECtype floating artificial reef modules was effectively *** main results from this work can provide useful references for engineering applications involving modular floating structures integrated with WECs.

The primary objective in aircraft transportation is to minimize turbulent drag, thereby conserving energy and reducing emissions. We propose a sector-shaped counter-flow dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator, which leverages jet synthesis for drag reduction. A drag control experiment was conducted in a low-speed wind tunnel with a controlled flow velocity of 9.6 m/s(Re = 1.445 × 10^(4)). This study investigated the effects of varying pulse frequencies and actuation voltages on the turbulent boundary layer. Using a hot-wire measurement system, we analyzed the pulsating and time-averaged velocity distributions within the boundary layer to evaluate the streamwise turbulent drag reduction. The results show that the local TDR decreases as the pulse frequency increases, reaching a maximum reduction of approximately 20.97% at a pulse frequency of 50 Hz. In addition, as the actuation voltage increases, the friction coefficient decreases, increasing the drag reduction rate. The maximum drag reduction of approximately 33.34% is achieved at an actuation voltage of 10 kV.

Gasoline vapor emissions from service stations significantly affect urban *** the research on the mechanisms and effectiveness of gasoline vapor removal is limited,this study innovatively investigates the static and dynamic adsorption of xylene—a typical gasoline vapor and one of the most active secondary organic aerosol(SOA)species—by commercial activated carbon(AC).The results showed that the saturation static adsorption capacity(Q_(e))of 12 ACs varied from 0.9 to 870.7 mg/g,which correlated with the specific surface area(SSA)and pore *** them,11#and 12#ACs were identified as the most effective adsorbents for typical gasoline vapor *** maximum dynamic Q_(e) increased from 301.5 to 414.3 mg/g when the initial xylene concentration rose from 918 to 2008 mg/m^(3) for 11#AC,and from 201.4 to 406.2 mg/g when the initial xylene concentration increased from 589 to 2120 mg/m^(3) for 12#*** findings implied a direct correlation between higher initial xylene concentrations and greater dynamic Q_(e) values,with static Q_(e) values surpassing dynamic *** adsorption kinetics simulation were analyzed by the pseudo-first-order(PFO)and pseudo-second-order(PSO)*** kinetics results demonstrated that the PFO was more effective in characterizing the adsorption of xylene onto ACs(R2>0.989),indicating that the adsorption of typical gasoline vapor by ACs primarily involves physical *** findings of static/dynamic adsorption and kinetics provide valuable guidance for practical applications of gasoline vapor removal in service stations.
