Organosulfate (OSA) nanoparticles,as secondary organic aerosol (SOA) compositions,are ubiquitous in urban and rural ***,we systemically investigated the mechanisms and kinetics of aqueous-phase reactions of 1-butanol/1-decanol (BOL/DOL) and their roles in the formation of OSA nanoparticles by using quantum chemical and kinetic *** mechanism results show that the aqueous-phase reactions of BOL/DOL start from initial protonation at alcoholic OH^(-)groups to form carbenium ions (CBs),which engage in the subsequent esterification or oligomerization reactions to form OSAs/organosulfites (OSIs) or *** kinetic results reveal that dehydration to form CBs for BOL and DOL reaction systems is the rate-limiting ***,about 18%of CBs occur via oligomerization to dimers,which are difficult to further oligomerize because all reactive sites are *** rate constant of BOL reaction system is one order of magnitude larger than that of DOL reaction system,implying that relative short-chain alcohols are more prone to contribute OSAs/OSIs than long-chain *** results reveal that typical long-chain alcohols contribute SOA formation via esterification rather than oligomerization because OSA/OSI produced by esterification engages in nanoparticle growth through enhancing hygroscopicity.

Aero-optic imaging deviation research is carried out for infrared-guided vehicle with cone-head side window,with a focus on the propagation characteristics of light in an aero-optic flow *** the light entering the aero-optic flow field from the free-stream should be close to the normal,numerous data indicate that the light is refracted away from the *** paper divides the aero-optic flow field into two parts and uses the gas density distribution in the aero-optic flow field to propose the hypothesis that there are two modes of refraction when light propagates through the flow *** results show that light propagates from the optically denser medium to the optically thinner medium after passing through the shock wave and eventually leads to refraction away from the normal when the light enters the aero-optic flow field.

Synergistic enhancement of alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction by role of Ni-Fe LDH introducing frustrated Lewis pairs via vacancy-engineered

The alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is a crucial process for sustainable hydrogen production,yet it requires efficient and stable electrocatalysts to overcome the high activation energy *** article discusses a novel strategy for enhancing the performance of Ni-Fe layered double hydroxide(Ni-Fe LDH)in the alkaline HER by modifying it with a frustrated Lewis acid-base pair(FLP)constructed through vacancy *** study found that the modified Ni-Fe LDH exhibited improved alkaline HER *** functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that the introduction of FLP can activate water and protons more efficiently than monometallic sites,thus reducing the alkaline HER energy barrier and *** HER under alkaline conditions,the Volmer step involves an additional hydrolysis dissociation compared to acidic conditions,which is one of the factors contributing to the slow reaction *** paper demonstrates that FLPs can alter the rate-determining step in alkaline HER from the Volmer step to a step with a lower energy barrier,more suitable for hydrogen *** work provides new insights into the role of FLPs in regulating the mechanism and kinetics of HER and opens a new direction for the design and optimization of LDH-based and other electrocatalysts.

Lubrication failure accompanying with blackening phenomenon significantly reduces the long-running operational reliability of porous polymide(PPI)lubricated with poly-α-olefin(PAO)***,the effects of lubrication condition and counter-surface chemistry on the blackening failure of PAO impregnated PPI were studied through the comparison of the tribological tests against GCr15 steel ball and Al_(2)O_(3)ceramic ball with and without PAO oil *** products were found to be formed on the PAO impregnated PPI surface slid against steel ball or Al_(2)O_(3)ball added with iron nano-particles,but be absent under the conditions without iron or PAO *** analysis indicated that the iron-catalyzed splitting of PAO oil into small molecule alkanes and following the formation of black organic matter should be mainly responsible for the blackening *** dynamic(MD)simulations demonstrated that the iron facilitated the separation of hydrogen atom and the following broken of C–C bonds in PAO molecules,final resulting in the splitting of PAO oil.

In Vitro Corrosion Behavior and Mechanical Property of Novel Mg-Sn-In-Ga Alloys for Orthopedic Applications

This study develops novel Mg-Sn-In-Ga alloys as potential implant materials for orthopedic *** corrosion behavior of the Mg-Sn-In-Ga alloys was studied through mass loss measurements,hydrogen evolution measurements,electrochemical analysis,and corrosion morphology *** results show that the corrosion rate of the Mg-1Sn-1In-1Ga alloy was only 0.10±0.003 mm/y after immersion in Hank’s solution for 15 *** outstanding corrosion resistance was associated with the protective efect of the corrosion *** increase in the Sn and Ga element content led to the precipitation of a large amount of Mg_(2)Sn and Mg_(5)Ga_(2),which had a dominant efect on the corrosion rate in the Mg-5Sn-1In-2Ga *** precipitates increased the current density and detached from the alloy surface during the corrosion *** can lead to a weakened protective efect of the corrosion layer,and thus generate localized corrosion and an increase in the corrosion *** strength of the Mg-5Sn-1In-2Ga alloy was enhanced due to fne-grain strengthening and precipitation *** ultimate tensile strength and yield strength of the Mg-5Sn-1In-2Ga alloy were~309 MPa and~253 MPa,respectively.

Fabricating PdCe/OMS-2 catalysts with boosted low-temperature activity for toluene deep degradation

Porous cryptomelane-type octahedral molecular sieve(OMS-2)with mixed Mn valence and abundant lattice oxygen species has attracted much attention in volatile organic compounds(VOC)catalytic ***,complete conversion of arene over OMS-2 catalysts at relatively low temperature is still a challenge due to its limited crystal structure and inferior ***,a series of PdCe/OMS-2 catalysts with different Pd/Ce molar ratios was fabricated by a facile impregnation method and the physicochemical properties of which were extensively characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM),B runauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)method,X-ray fluorescence(XRF),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),temperature programmed reduction of H2(H2-TPR),Raman,In situ diffused reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectra(DRIFTS),and density functional theory(DFT)*** show that the total conversion of toluene can be achieved at 207℃ over PdCe2 with apparent activation energy as low as 62.6 kJ/*** strong synergistic effect between Pd and Ce remarkably boosts the catalytic activity of OMS-2,attributed to the abundant Mn^(3+)-O bands and active surface oxygen *** results reveal that oxygen vacancy can be formed over PdCe2 much easily than that of Pd/OMS-2 and Ce/OMS-2 with the oxygen vacancy formation energy of2.42,2.83 and 2.68 eV,*** increasing the Pd content cannot promote the catalytic activity although PdO is a critical active center in toluene *** vacancy attributed to the integrative effect of Pd,Ce and Mn species plays a promine nt role over prepared catalysts in toluene activation *** findings reported in this work showed new insights into the designing of highly efficient OMS-2catalysts for VOC deep oxidation by tuning oxygen vacancy concentration.

Cooperative output regulation of heterogeneous directed multi-agent systems:a fully distributed model-free reinforcement learning framework

In this paper, the cooperative output regulation(COR) problem of a class of unknown heterogeneous multi-agent systems(MASs) with directed graphs is studied via a model-free reinforcement learning(RL) based fully distributed eventtriggered control(ETC) strategy. First, we consider the scenario that the exosystem is accessible globally to all agents, an internal model-based augmented algebraic Riccati equation(AARE) is constructed, and its solution is learned by the proposed model-free RL algorithm via online input-output data. Further, for the scenario that the exosystem is accessible only to its adjacent followers, the distributed observers are designed for each agent to get the state of the exosystem, and an internal modelbased fully distributed adaptive ETC protocol is then synthesized to construct the corresponding AARE, and the feedback gain matrix is learned in a model-free fashion. The model-free RL-based control protocol proposed in this paper can not only remove the prior knowledge of agents' dynamics, but also release the dependence on global information by the adaptive event-triggered mechanism(ETM) and the new graph-based Lyapunov function. Finally, simulation results are illustrated to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
