Study on Dry Electrical Discharge Assisted Grinding of SiCp/Al Composite

SiC-reinforced aluminum matrix(SiCp/Al)composite is widely utilized in the aerospace,automotive,and electronics industries due to the combination of ceramic hardness and metal ***,the significant disparity in properties between SiC particles and the aluminum matrix results in severe tool wear and diminished surface quality during conventional *** study proposes an environmentally friendly and clean dry electrical discharge assisted grinding process as an efficient and low-damage machining method for SiCp/*** experimental platform was set up to study the impact of grinding and discharge process parameters on surface *** study compared the chip formation mechanism and surface quality between dry electrical discharge assisted grinding and conventional grinding,revealing relationships between surface roughness,grinding force,grinding temperature,and related *** results indicate that the proposed grinding method leads to smaller chip sizes,lower grinding forces and temperatures,and an average reduction of 19.2%in surface roughness compared to conventional *** axial,tangential,and normal grinding forces were reduced by roughly 10.5%,37.8%,and 23.0%,*** optimized process parameters were determined to be N=2500 r/min,vf=30 mm/min,a=10μm,E=15 V,f=5000 Hz,dc=80%,resulting in a surface roughness of 0.161μm.

The cryptomelane-type manganese oxide (OMS-2)-supported Co (x Co/OMS-2;x=5,10,and15 wt.%) catalysts were prepared via a pre-incorporation *** as-prepared materials were used as catalysts for catalytic oxidation of toluene (2000 ppmV).Physical and chemical properties of the catalysts were measured using the X-ray diffraction (XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic (FT-IR),scanning electron microscopic (SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),and hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H_(2)-TPR)*** all of the catalysts,10Co/OMS-2 performed the best,with the T90%,specific reaction rate at 245℃,and turnover frequency at 245℃ (TOFCo) being 245℃,1.23×10^(-3)moltoluene/(gcat·sec),and 11.58×10^(-3)sec-1for toluene oxidation at a space velocity of 60,000mL/(g·hr),*** excellent catalytic performance of 10Co/OMS-2 were due to more oxygen vacancies,enhanced redox ability and oxygen mobility,and strong synergistic effect between Co species and OMS-2 ***,in the presence of poisoning gases CO_(2),SO_(2)or NH_(3),the activity of 10Co/OMS-2 decreased for the carbonate,sulfate and ammonia species covered the active sites and oxygen vacancies,*** the activation treatment,the catalytic activity was partly *** good low-temperature reducibility of 10Co/OMS-2 could also facilitate the redox process accompanied by the consecutive electron transfer between the adsorbed O_(2)and the cobalt or manganese *** the oxidation process of toluene,the benzoic and aldehydic intermediates werefirst generated,which were further oxidized to the benzoate intermediate that were eventually converted into H_(2)O and CO_(2).

The increasing application of anammox processes suggests their enormous potential for nitrogen removal in wastewater treatment ***,the functional potentials and ecological differentiation of cooccurring anammox species in complex ecosystems have not been well ***,by utilizing functional reconstruction and comparative genome analysis,we deciphered the cooccurring mechanisms of four Candidatus Brocadia species that were spontaneously enriched in a full-scale swine wastewater treatment *** analysis indicated that species SW172 and SW745 were closely related to *** caroliniensis and *** sapporoensis,respectively,whereas the dominant species SW510 and SW773,with a total average abundance of 34.1%,were classified as novel species of the genus *** reconstruction revealed that the novel species SW510 can encode both cytochrome cd1-type nitrite reductase and hydroxylamine oxidase for nitrite *** contrast,the detected respiratory pentaheme cytochrome c nitrite reductase and acetate kinase genes suggested that SW773 likely reduced nitrite to ammonium with acetate as a carbon ***,the presence of genes encoding urease and cyanase indicated that both novel species can use diverse organic nitrogen compounds in addition to ammonia and nitrite as *** together,the recovery and comparative analysis of these anammox genomes expand our understanding of the functional differentiation and cooccurrence of the genus *** in wastewater treatment systems.

Wave-induced liquefaction of the seabed is a geohazard frequently encountered in shallow *** widely discussed,most studies paid attention to the seabed response under a single sequence of wave ***,the seabed suffers from repeated‘wave loading–dissipation’phases in a real ocean *** this study,a homogeneous sandy seabed model is established to investigate the mechanism of wave-induced liquefaction by considering the existence of *** element analyses are conducted by incorporating a kinematic hardening elastoplastic model into the commercial package *** constitutive model is validated against centrifugal wave *** studies are conducted to demonstrate the effects of relative densities,current,and wave-loading history on the seabed *** predicted excess pore pressure,effective stress paths,and associated variation of relative density are discussed in *** results show that the densification of soils significantly enhances the resistance against liquefaction,which provides new insight into the mechanism of residual liquefaction during wave sequences.

La^(3+)@BC500-S_(2)O_(8)^(2−)system for removal of sulfonamide antibiotics in water

Sulfonamide antibiotics(SAs)widely used have potentially negative effects on human beings and *** and advanced oxidation methods have been exten-sively applied in SAs wastewater *** this study,compared with Al^(3+)@BC500 and Fe^(3+)@BC500,La^(3+)@BC500 for activating persulfate(S2O82−)had the best effect removal per-formance of sulfadiazine(SDZ)and sulfamethoxazole(SMX).Morphology,acidity,oxygen-containing functional groups,and loading of La^(3+)@BC500 were analyzed by techniques,in-cluding EA,BET,XRD,XPS,*** results show that with the increase of La^(3+)loading,the surface characteristics of biochar gradually changed from CaCO_(3)to LaCO_(3)*** EPR technology,it is proved that LaCO_(3)OH on the surface of La^(3+)@BC500 can not only acti-vate S2O82−to generate SO_(4)^(−)•,but also to produce•*** the optimization experiment,the optimal dosage of La^(3+)is between 0.05 and 0.2(mol/L)/*** had a good removal effect at pH(5-9),but SMX had a good removal effect only at pH=*** potential also proves that the material is more stable under acidic *** removal process of SDZ is more in accord with pseudo-first-order kinetics(R^(2)=0.9869),while SMX is more in line with pseudo-second order kinetics(R^(2)=0.9926).

Seawater battery is an advanced energy storage system that enables conversion of chemical energy to electricity by consuming metals,dissolved oxygen and seawater in anode,cathode and electrolyte,***,the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity and stability of electrocatalysts can be easily deactivated due to the severe Cl~-permeation and corrosion in seawater ***,we developed a structural buffer engineering strategy by spontaneously anchoring Cl~-intoα-Co(OH)_(2) as efficient and stable ORR electrocatalysts,in which the ultrathinα-Co(OH)_(2) nanosheets were synthesized using an ultrafast solution high-temperature shock(SHTS)*** large lattice space(~0.8 nm)of layeredα-Co(OH)_(2) ensured the spontaneously penetration of Cl~-into the lattice structure and replaced part of OH~-to formα-Co(OH)_(2-x)Cl_*** continuous leaching and compensating of saturated Cl inα-Co(OH)_(2-x)Cl_x could enhance the Cl~-corrosion resistance and modulate electronic structure of Co metallic sites,thus improving the ORR electrocatalytic activity and stability in seawater ***α-Co(OH)_(2-x)Cl_x seawater batteries display superior onset and half-wave potentials of 0.71 and 0.66 V,respectively,which are much better than the counterparts ofα-Co(OH)_(2) and ofβ-Co(OH)_(2) with no Cl~-penetrating and no buffer ***α-Co(OH)_(2-x)Cl_x-based seawater batteries display stable open-circuit potential of 1.69 V and outstanding specific capacity of 1345 mAh·g^(-1).

Performance Analysis of a Hexagon Rolling Mechanism with Single Degree of Freedom

This article presents a comprehensive performance analysis of the step-climbing and passive rolling modes of a hexagon rolling mechanism with single-degree-of-freedom, based on its structural characteristics and the constraints of centroid stability. First, a step-climbing model, incorporating motion parameters and support distance parameters, is established by leveraging the symmetrical posture movement characteristics of the hexagon rolling mechanism. Building on this foundation, the impact of each parameter on the mechanism's step-climbing ability is thoroughly analyzed, and the maximum height achievable during step climbing is also examined. Subsequently, the existence and sufficient conditions for the hexagon rolling mechanism to achieve passive rolling are analyzed using the centroid fluctuation curve and its slope curves. The analysis results indicate that, due to its unique coupling structure design, the hexagon rolling mechanism possesses a passive rolling capability that is not available in conventional planar linkage mechanisms. In situ and on-line monitoring of cadmium in soil pore water using an automatic sampling integrated electrochemical sensor

Cadmium(Cd) contamination in soil pore water is the primary pathway for Cd uptake by food crops,such as rice(Oryza sativa L.),posing significant risks to both food safety and human *** study presents a novel soil pore water metal sensor(SPW-Msensor) for in situ and online monitoring of Cd in soil pore water(Cd_(pw)).The SPW-Msensor integrates an automated sampling device,comprising a Rhizon sampler and a reciprocating series pump with an independent dual plunger drive,along with a portable electrochemical sensor consisting of a screen-printed electrode,flow cell,and portable *** SPW-Msensor enables the detection of Cd within a linear range of 50 to 300 ppb while exhibiting high anti-interference ***,it demonstrates excellent repeatability(relative standard deviation values(RSDs)<3.6%) across 30 measurements conducted within a 2-h *** method exhibits good agreement with results obtained using the standard ICP-MS method(RSDs<5%).Additionally,this study establishes a positive correlation between Cd_(pw)detected by the SPW-Msensor and total Cd concentration(Cd_(total)) in the soil with an R^(2) value equal to *** acquired from the SPW-Msensor can be utilized for predicting Cd_(total)through partial least squares regression modeling,achieving model quality score(Q^(2)) of 0.69,adjusted R^(2) of 0.9345,and root mean square error(RMSE) of *** SPW-Msensor demonstrates real-time monitoring capabilities for assessing Cd levels in acidified *** SPW-Msensor offers an efficient approach for in-situ and continuous monitoring of Cd_(pw)that provides valuable insights applicable to environmental and agricultural domains.
