Lightweight thin-walled structures with lattice infill are widely desired in satellite for their high stiffness-to-weight ratio and superior buckling strength resulting fromthe sandwich *** structures can be fabricated bymetallic additive manufacturing technique,such as selective laser melting(SLM).However,the maximum dimensions of actual structures are usually in a sub-meter scale,which results in restrictions on their appliance in aerospace and other *** this work,a meter-scale thin-walled structure with lattice infill is designed for the fuel tank supporting component of the satellite by integrating a self-supporting lattice into the thickness optimization of the *** designed structure is fabricated by SLM of AlSi10Mg and cold metal transfer welding ***-static mechanical tests and vibration tests are both conducted to verify the mechanical strength of the designed large-scale lattice thin-walled *** experimental results indicate that themeter-scale thin-walled structure with lattice infill could meet the dimension and lightweight requirements of most spacecrafts.

In this paper,the authors consider the inverse problem for the Moore-Gibson-Thompson equation with a memory term and variable diffusivity,which introduce a sort of delay in the dynamics,producing nonlocal effects in *** H¨older stability of simultaneously determining the spatially varying viscosity coefficient and the source term is obtained by means of the key pointwise Carleman estimate for the Moore-Gibson-Thompson *** the sake of generality in mathematical tools,the analysis of this paper is discussed within the framework of Riemannian geometry.

Surrogate-assisted differential evolution using manifold learning-based sampling for highdimensional expensive constrained optimization problems

To address the challenges of high-dimensional constrained optimization problems with expensive simulation models,a Surrogate-Assisted Differential Evolution using Manifold Learning-based Sampling(SADE-MLS)is *** SADE-MLS,differential evolution operators are executed to generate numerous high-dimensional candidate *** alleviate the curse of dimensionality,a Manifold Learning-based Sampling(MLS)mechanism is developed to explore the high-dimensional design space *** MLS,the intrinsic dimensionality of the candidate points is determined by a maximum likelihood ***,the candidate points are mapped into a low-dimensional space using the dimensionality reduction technique,which can avoid significant information loss during dimensionality ***,Kriging surrogates are constructed in the low-dimensional space to predict the responses of the mapped candidate *** candidate points with high constrained expected improvement values are selected for global ***,the local search process assisted by radial basis function and differential evolution is performed to exploit the design space *** numerical benchmarks are tested to compare SADE-MLS with other ***,SADE-MLS is successfully applied to a solid rocket motor multidisciplinary optimization problem and a re-entry vehicle aerodynamic optimization problem,with the total impulse and lift to drag ratio being increased by 32.7%and 35.5%,*** optimization results demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed method in real engineering practices.

Bibliometric analysis and scientific trends on perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) as an emerging pollutant

The persistence, bioaccumulation, and toxicity of perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), along with their concentrations in the environment and humans, have attracted global attention. However, so far, there have been seldom reports providing a systematical review in the entire field of PFASs research. Therefore, this study summarizes 14,112 relevant publications (2005–2022) and conducts bibliometric analysis using Vosviewer and CiteSpace. The findings offer insights into global PFASs research trends, assisting scientists in establishing their research directions. Unlike traditional literature reviews, this article presents a new method for data collection and analysis that achieves quantitative visualization of the information from the past 18 years in the field of PFASs. Results show a significant increase in global PFASs publications, with China leading in publication output and the US in international collaborations. Author Kurunthachalam Kanna has the highest publication records. Document co-citation clustering and key line analysis identifies four major research areas and landmarks, while betweenness centrality analysis reveals developmental processes. Citation burst analysis finds that PFASs toxicity and monitoring have been hot areas, suggesting the need for greater attention towards the types and levels of PFASs in various environmental media and the removal processes of PFASs responsible for pollution, which may emerge as future research hotspots. © 2024

Risk-Targeted Design Spectra for Uniform Risk Seismic Design

The uniform hazard response spectrum only considers the seismic hazard of a site, without taking into account the seismic fragility of the structure. As a result, structures designed based on this spectrum may exhibit varying levels of collapse risk under earthquakes in different regions. To this end, first, various cases are employed to determine a first-order approximation of the seismic hazard function H(x), followed by a validation of its rationality. Subsequently, with the objective of achieving uniform collapse risk, considering both seismic hazard and structural fragility, single anchor point, double anchor points, and multiple anchor points methods are proposed to construct the risk-targeted seismic design spectra for frequent earthquake (FE), design basis earthquake (DBE), maximum considered earthquake (MCE), and very rare earthquake (VRE). Furthermore, a comprehensive study is conducted to analyze the risk-targeted seismic design spectra corresponding to different seismic design levels, site classes, and characteristic periods constructed using the multiple anchor points method. In addition, a comparative analysis is conducted on the risk-targeted seismic design spectra constructed using different methods. The study indicates that determining H(x) based on DBE and VRE is reasonable, and the relative difference between the risk-targeted ground motion (RTGM) derived from this case and the RTGM obtained by determining H(x) based on probabilistic seismic hazard analysis is within 4%. The risk-targeted seismic design spectra constructed using three different methods show overall similarity. The single anchor point method offers simplicity in calculations and ensures that the uniform risk seismic design spectrum aligns with the uniform hazard seismic design spectrum in terms of spectral shape. Although the multiple anchor points method involves increased computational effort, it allows for the consideration of seismic hazard at multiple periods. © Seismological

Inorganic aerogels have exhibited many superior characteristics with extensive applications,but are still plagued by a nearly century-old tradeoff between their mechanical and thermal *** reducing thermal conductivity by ultralow density,inorganic aerogels generally suffer from large fragility due to their brittle nature or weak joint crosslinking,while enhancing the mechanical robustness by material design and structural engineering,they easily sacrifice thermal insulation and ***,we report a chemically bonded multi-nanolayer design and synthesis of a graphene/amorphous boron nitride aerogel to address this typical tradeoff to further enhance mechanical and thermal *** to the chemically bonded interface and coupled toughening effect,our aerogels display a low density of 0.8 mg cm-3with ultrahigh flexibility（elastic compressive strain up to 99% and bending strain up to 90%）,and exceptional thermostability（strength degradation <3% after sharp thermal shocks）,as well as the lowest thermal conductivities in a vacuum(only 1.57 mW m-1K-1at room temperature and 10.39 mW m-1K-1at500℃) among solid materials to *** unique combination of mechanical and thermal properties offers an attractive material system for thermal superinsulation at extreme conditions.

Unlike traditional path-following methods, this paper develops a parallel control framework to investigate the path-following behavior of autonomous surface ships (ASVs) in the presence of unknown disturbances and model uncertainties. Specifically, a high-order learning extended state observer is proposed to construct a digital-twin ASV system, enabling precise depiction of the motion characteristics of the actual ASV system. Based on the states and unknown total disturbances estimated by the digital-twin ASV system, a parallel path-following controller is developed to actively guide the ASV to achieve path-following task. Simulation results validate the efficacy of the proposed parallel path-following control scheme for the fully-actuated ASV. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

Achieving an efficient and stable heterogeneous Fenton reaction over a wide pH range is of great significance for wastewater ***,a pollen-derived biochar catalyst with a unique honeycomb-like structure,coupled with the dispersion of magnetic Fe_(3)O_(4)/FeS(Fe/S)nanoparticles,was synthesized by simple impregnation precursor,followed by *** prepared Fe/S-biochar catalyst demonstrated outstanding phenol degradation efficiency across a wide pH range,with 98%of which eliminated even under neutral conditions(pH 7.0).The high catalytic activity was due to the multilevel porous structure of pollenderived biochar provided enough active sites and allowed for better electron transfer,then increases oxidation ability to promote the ***,the acid microenvironment formed by SO_(4)^(2-)group from Fe/S composite extended the pH range for Fenton reaction,and S^(2-)facilitated the conversion of≡Fe^(3+)to≡Fe^(2+),resulting in remarkable degradation ***,biochar can effectively promote cycling stability by limiting Fe *** work may provide a general strategy for designing 3D framework biochar-based Fe/S catalysts with excellent performance for heterogeneous Fenton reactions.

Influences of clean fracturing fluid viscosity and horizontal in-situ stress difference on hydraulic fracture propagation and morphology in coal seam

The viscosity of fracturing fluid and in-situ stress difference are the two important factors that affect the hydraulic fracturing pressure and propagation morphology. In this study, raw coal was used to prepare coal samples for experiments, and clean fracturing fluid samples were prepared using CTAB surfactant. A series of hydraulic fracturing tests were conducted with an in-house developed triaxial hydraulic fracturing simulator and the fracturing process was monitored with an acoustic emission instrument to analyze the influences of fracturing fluid viscosity and horizontal in-situ stress difference on coal fracture propagation. The results show that the number of branched fractures decreased, the fracture pattern became simpler, the fractures width increased obviously, and the distribution of AE event points was concentrated with the increase of the fracturing fluid viscosity or the horizontal in-situ stress difference. The acoustic emission energy decreases with the increase of fracturing fluid viscosity and increases with the increase of horizontal in situ stress difference. The low viscosity clean fracturing fluid has strong elasticity and is easy to be compressed into the tip of fractures, resulting in complex fractures. The high viscosity clean fracturing fluids are the opposite. Our experimental results provide a reference and scientific basis for the design and optimization of field hydraulic fracturing parameters.

Ultralight Mg-Li alloys offer promising applications across various ***-Li alloys enriched with Al and Zn hold theoretical potential for achieving excellent mechanical strength and corrosion ***,the structural and performance characteristics of such Mg-Li alloys,particularly after thermo-mechanical processing,remain inadequately explored and *** study investigated the mi-crostructural evolution of a Mg-9Li-5Al-4Zn alloy after friction stir processing and its consequent effects on the mechanical and corrosion *** grain size of the alloy was effectively refined and sta-bilized during friction stir processing at various heat *** yield strength of the alloy increased by 86.4%after friction stir processing under the highest heat input condition,which was attributed to fine grain strengthening,solid solution strengthening and dispersion ***,the alloy ex-perienced a slight decrease in elongation after the friction stir *** alloy subjected to friction stir processing with the highest heat input exhibited a minimal corrosion current density of 6.10×10^(−6) A/cm^(2),which was only 25%of the base *** enhanced anti-corrosion properties can be attributed to the dispersion and distribution of precipitated particles induced by friction stir processing,which hin-dered the micro-galvanic corrosion and promoted the generation of a compact surface film,leading to minimal and uniform *** investigation can be significant for understanding the metallurgical mechanisms and performance evolution of Mg-Li alloys during thermomechanical processes.
