The aim of overhead crane control is to transport the payload to the desired location rapidly and accurately while simultaneously eliminating *** this end,a Model Reference Adaptive Sliding Mode control(MRASMC)is proposed for overhead crane systems with ***,the MRASMC method does not require prior knowledge of the model parameters and friction,whereas this requirement is usually needed in conventional *** comparison with Sliding Mode control(SMC),the proposed method has stronger robustness with respect to extraneous ***,an adaptive sliding mode controller with a moving surface is designed to avoid the tradeoff between steady-state error and chattering *** techniques are utilized to prove the convergence and stability of the closed-loop *** results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

In this paper, the Dynamic Position model (DP) of semi-submersible vessel was established in Ariane system based on static analysis and standards, to obtain DP capability polar plot under different failure pattern. Through the time-domain simulation, PID control theory and Kalman filtering method were used in DP accuracy analysis. Analysis results, such as ship motion, DP accuracy and propeller variation, could be provided for safety and reliability check in engineering practice.

Enhancing the Performance of JADE Using Two-phase Parameter control Scheme and Its Application

The search efficiency of differential evolution （DE） algorithm is greatly impacted by its control parameters. Although many adaptation/self-adaptation techniques can automatically find suitable control parameters for the DE, most techniques are based on pop- ulation information which may be misleading in solving complex optimization problems. Therefore, a self-adaptive DE （i.e., JADE） using two-phase parameter control scheme （TPC-JADE） is proposed to enhance the performance of DE in the current study. In the TPC-JADE, an adaptation technique is utilized to generate the control parameters in the early population evolution, and a well-known empirical guideline is used to update the control parameters in the later evolution stages. The TPC-JADE is compared with four state-of-the-art DE variants on two famous test suites （i.e., IEEE CEC2005 and IEEE CEC2015）. Results indicate that the overall performance of the TPC-JADE is better than that of the other compared algorithms. In addition, the proposed algorithm is utilized to obtain optimal nutrient and inducer feeding for the Lee-Ramirez bioreactor. Experimental results show that the TPC-JADE can perform well on an actual dynamic optimization problem.

Analysis and experimental results of frequency splitting of underwater wireless power transfer

Underwater wireless power transfer (UWPT) is an important technique to power underwater devices while its frequency splitting phenomena are not fully elucidated. In this study, frequency splitting phenomena of a symmetrical planar two-coil wireless power transfer (WPT) system resonated at 90 kHz are investigated in seawater and freshwater. A concise frequency splitting analysis of this WPT system in air based on circuit model is given first and then experimental data are reported to show there is little difference between power transfer in air, freshwater and seawater in the range of 40-140 kHz of this WPT system. Consequently, the frequency splitting analysis and observations in air are also applicable in freshwater and seawater. It is found a V-type frequency splitting pattern exists in this WPT system under seawater and freshwater. Frequency shift is observed in this UWPT system in overcoupled region, and no frequency shift is observed in undercoupled region. In undercoupled region, in the low frequency zone of 40-90 kHz the load voltage characteristics in three media are identical;in the high-frequency zone of 90-140 kHz, the load voltage in air is slightly larger than those in freshwater and seawater.

Blind adaptive channel equalization algorithm for underwater acoustic communication based on KF and virtual technology

As it is difficult to accurately estimate the number and time delay of the multipath, and electrical noise will occur when the system works, the underwater acoustic channels were complicated. Therefore, a virtual technology and Kalman filter (KF) blind adaptive algorithm were combined to construct a blind adaptive channel equalization algorithm both for short distance and for long distance underwater acoustic communications in this paper. The virtual technology treated multipath interference and electrical noise as environmental noise. And the optimal estimation of underwater acoustic data was achieved by using the optimal estimation property of KF under the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. The satisfactory result of short distance (the horizontal distance between the source and receiver is 14 m, the carrier frequency is 10 kHz, the sampling frequency is 100 kHz, and the symbol rate is 64.5 bit/s) and long distance (the horizontal distance between the source and receiver is 5 km, the carrier frequency is 6 kHz, the sampling frequency is 48 kHz, and the symbol rate is 11.8 bit/s) experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2019, Editorial Board of Journal of Huazhong University of Science and technology. The carrier frequencies of the interfering users may be inconsistent with those of the expected users when mobile multiuser underwater acoustic communications occur. A blind adaptive multiuser detection(BAMUD)algorithm for carrier frequency inconsistency is proposed for the multiple access interference (MAI) problem produced by inconsistent carrier frequencies in mobile multiuser underwater acoustic communications. The multi-path interference (inter-symbol interference) can be viewed as MAI using virtual user technology, that is, the channel equalization link and the MAI suppression link are combined into one link in the multiuser underwater acoustic communication system, simplifying the communication system structure. The MAI suppression characteristic of Kalman filter-based BAMUD(KF-BAMUD)algorithm, that is, the optimal estimation characteristic of KF under the minimum mean square error criterion, is used to suppress the virtual MAI with different carrier frequencies, the transmission data of the expected user is effectively estimated, thus realizing multiuser communication. A series of multi-user communication experiments under inconsistent carrier frequencies were conducted in Bohai Sea and during its ice period, and the good experimental results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2019, Editorial Board of Acta Armamentarii. Compressive sensing (CS) has been widely used in vehicular technology including compressive spectrum sensing, sparse channel estimation, and vehicular communications. The complete procedure of CS consists of sparse representation, sparse measurement, and sparse recovery. In the CS, measurement matrix Φ is utilized to sample a sparse signal, while sensing matrix Ψ is exploited for sparse recovery. It is important to properly design the sensing matrix that significantly affects the signal recovery performance. This paper addresses the issue of the sensing matrix design for the CS with multiple measurement vectors (MMV). We first study sufficient conditions for the MMV-CS and then develop three sensing matrix design approaches in different situations. The proposed methods have their roots in the principle of minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamformer. This allows us to optimally determine the sensing matrix in the framework of the MVDR, which amounts to minimizing local cumulative cross-coherence between Φ and Ψ while keeping the columns of Ψ highly correlated to their counterparts of Φ. Simulation results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

The steel cylinder structure is generally used as a wharf revetment structure. It is necessary to evaluate the safety and stability of the steel cylinder structure as the retaining structure for offshore foundation excavation. In this paper, a large finite element software PLAXIS is used to simulate the safety factor and the structural displacement of the steel cylinder structure in the wave load and the excavation of the foundation. The calculation results show that the overall stability of the steel cylinder is 1.7 when the most unfavorable condition of excavating from the foundation to the bottom of the steel cylinder. The lateral displacement is 572mm, which meets the safety requirements of the structure. The steel cylinder structure can play a role as the water retaining structure of the cofferdam and the support structure of foundation when it was put into the non-permeable layer. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

Concrete Cracking control of Chamber wall in Jiepai Ship-lock Project

Based on analysis of crack problem of chamber wall ship lock expansion project in Jiepai province, the related research of countermeasures have been made, to solve the cracks occurs in the structure. The countermeasure of cracks are analysed by monitoring internal-external temperature and shrinkage stress of chamber wall. It is provided that the rational measures could make less cracks occur, including fiber lattice with curing of insulation and moisture materials and optimization of proportion mix. A series of investigations are carried out insitu and prove countermeasures of cracking control effectively. This paper states the technical details and developing of inner temperature and shrinkage in chamber wall by adopting above measures.
