The first measurement of the low-lying states of the neutron-rich Zr110 and Mo112 was performed via in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy after one proton removal on hydrogen at ∼200 MeV/nucleon. The 21+ excitation energies were found at 185(11) keV in Zr110, and 235(7) keV in Mo112, while the R42=E(41+)/E(21+) ratios are 3.1(2), close to the rigid rotor value, and 2.7(1), respectively. These results are compared to modern energy density functional based configuration mixing models using Gogny and Skyrme effective interactions. We conclude that first levels of Zr110 exhibit a rotational behavior, in agreement with previous observations of lighter zirconium isotopes as well as with the most advanced Monte Carlo shell model predictions. The data, therefore, do not support a harmonic oscillator shell stabilization scenario at Z=40 and N=70. The present data also invalidate predictions for a tetrahedral ground state symmetry in Zr110.

Static disassembly is used to analyze program control flow that is the key process of reverse analysis. Aiming at the problem that attackers are always using static disassembly to analyze control transfer instructions and control flow graph, a mixed obfuscation of overlapping instruction and self-modify code based on hyper-chaotic opaque predicates is proposed, jump offsets in overlapping instructions and data offsets in self-modify code are constructed with opaque predicates. Control transfer instructions are modified into control transfer unrelated ones with the combination of characteristics of overlapping instruction and self-modify code. Experiments and analysis show that control flow graph can be obfuscated by mixed obfuscation due to the difficulty of hyper-chaotic opaque predicates for attackers to analyze.

Software metrics are vital tools to enhance the quality of computer software, and to help in the control of software projects. Object-oriented technology is a new promising approach for developing software systems to reduce software costs and to improve software productivity. Object-oriented metrics is a quantitative measure of the degree to which the software-system or component or process possess the given attribute. From the earliest days of the software engineering discipline there has been wide agreement of the need to measure software processes and products as a pre-condition for establishing control over development activities. Developing modules in a multi-suite environment would result in the problem of integration into a project. Software metrics are useful techniques to avoid this problem. The existing tools are not free of cost. The proposed project is to extract a general subset of these metrics for an object-oriented software development project and is to be of free of cost.

Biomedical relations play an important role in biological processes. In this work, we combine information filtering, grammar parsing and network analysis for gene-disease association extraction. The proposed method first extracts sentences potentially containing information about gene-diseases interactions based on maximum entropy classifier with topic features. And then Probabilistic Context-Free Grammars is applied for gene-disease association extraction. The network of genes and the disease is constituted by the extracted interactions, network centrality metrics are used for calculating the importance of each gene. We used breast cancer as testing disease for system evaluation. The 31 top ranked genes and diseases by the weighted degree, betweenness, and closeness centralities have been checked relevance with breast cancer through NCBI database. The evaluation showed 83.9% accuracy for the testing genes and diseases, 74.2% accuracy for the testing genes. © 2014 Association for Computational Linguistics

High-quality algorithms for dense optical flow computation are computationally intensive. To compute them with high speed and low power is vital to make optical flow computation applicable in real-world applications. In contrast to only the Horn-Schunck model being studied on FPGA-based systems today, one of the best linear variational methods for dense optical flow computation, Combine-Brightness-Gradient, is implemented on FPGA-accelerated heterogeneous platforms in this paper. C instead of HDLs is employed and optimizing techniques based on the algorithmic parallelism and hardware architecture are introduced. Experimental results show that 30-110x improvement of the computing efficiency over CPUs was achieved. The FPGA-accelerated version is able to process 640 × 480 image at 12 fps with 0.38 J per frame, while it is 0.8 fps and around 40 J on CPUs. Through demonstrating high performance and low power of dense optical flow algorithm on FPGA-based heterogeneous platforms implemented in C, this paper shows that the off-the-shelf commodity FPGAs coupled with High-Level-Synthesis (HLS) tools could provide an available option when computational efficiency together with development speed are required.

The sentiment mining is a fast growing topic of both academic research and commercial applications, especially with the widespread of short-text applications on the Web. A fundamental problem that confronts sentiment mining is the automatics and correctness of mined sentiment. This paper proposes an DLDA (Double Latent Dirichlet Allocation) model to analyze sentiment for short-texts based on topic model. Central to DLDA is to add sentiment to topic model and consider sentiment as equal to topic, but independent of topic. DLDA is actually two methods DLDA I and its improvement DLDA II. Compared to the single topic-word LDA, the double LDA I, i.e., DLDA I designs another sentiment-word LDA. Both LDAs are independent of each other, but they combine to influence the selected words in short-texts. DLDA II is an improvement of DLDA I. It employs entropy formula to assign weights of words in the Gibbs sampling based on the ideas that words with stronger sentiment orientation should be assigned with higher weights. Experiments show that compared with other traditional topic methods, both DLDA I and II can achieve higher accuracy with less manual needs.

Object tracking is one of the most important components in numerous applications of computer vision. Much progress has been made in recent years. The Tracking-Learning-Detection (TLD) algorithm achieves excellent performance on a set of challenging video sequences. However, classical TLD algorithm fails to track non-rigid pedestrian as complicated appearance, varying viewpoints, shape changes and occlusions. In this paper, we follow the TLD and propose a robust KMD framework which consists of the Kalman filter tracker, random ferns pedestrian detector and the pedestrian model. During the tracking process the tracker and detector are complementary: the Kalman filter tracker predicts the motion, the pedestrian detector searches the best-match appearance and the pedestrian model combines performance of both to determine final result and generate new samples for learning. Experimental results show our framework comparatively improves performance for pedestrian tracking in surveillance videos. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Most processors employ hardware data prefetching to hide memory access latencies. However the prefetching requests from different threads on a multi-core processor can cause severe interference with prefetching and/or demand requests of others. The data prefetching can lead to significant performance degradation due to shared resource contention on shared memory multi-core systems. This paper proposes a thread-aware data prefetching mechanism based on low-overhead run-time information to tune prefetching modes and aggressiveness, mitigating the resource contention in the memory system. Our solution has two new components: 1) a filtering mechanism that informs the hardware about which prefetching requests can cause shared data invalidation and should be discarded, and 2) a self-tuning prefetcher that uses run-time feedback to adjust each thread's data prefetching mode and arguments. On a set of parallel benchmarks, our thread-aware data prefetching mechanisms improve the overall performance of 64-core system by 11% and reduce the energy-delay product by 13% over a multi-mode prefetch baseline system with a two level cache organization and a conventional MESI-based directory coherence protocol. We compare our approach to the feedback directed prefetching (FDP) technique and find that it provides better performance on multi-core systems, while reducing the energy delay product.
