The security research on Windows has received little attention in the academic circle. Most of the new methods are usually designed for Linux system, and are difficult to transplant to Windows. Fuzzing for Windows programs always suffering from its closed source. Therefore, we need to find an appropriate way to achieve feedback from Windows programs. To our knowledge, there are no stable and scalable static instrumentation tools for Windows yet, and dynamic tools, such as DynamoRIO, have been criticized for their performance. To make matters worse, dynamic instrumentation tools have very limited usage scenarios and are impotent for many system services or large commercial software. In this paper, we proposed spotInstr, a novel static tool for instrumenting Windows binaries. It is lightweight and can instrument most Windows PE programs in a very short time. At the same time, spotInstr provides a set of filters, which can be used to select instrumentation points or restrict the target regions. Based on these filters, we propose a novel memory-sensitive instrumentation method which can speed up both instrumentation and fuzzing. After that, we design a system called spotFuzzer, which leverage the ability of spotInstr and can fuzz most Windows binaries. We tested spotInstr and spotFuzzer in multiple dimensions to show their superior performance and stability. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Accelerating Distributed Deep Learning draws increasing attention recently. Existing solutions like gradient compression, pipelining computation/communication, flow scheduling based on gradient disparities, neglect load balancing for Distributed Deep Learning (DDL) flows in DataCenter Network. In this paper, we review the PS traffic pattern in usual DDL training and propose that minimizing tail Flow Completion Time (FCT) of DDL flows is objective for DDL traffic Load Balancing. Besides, traffics of DDL differ from traditional DataCenter in temporal and spatial distribution. Current DCN Load Balancing become unadaptable to optimization requirements of DDL traffic, so we propose Tailor, a brand new load balancing scheme for DDL traffics training in DCN. Tailor is a solution without complex switch modification that sufficiently leverages the known parameter amount of DDL flows to discover congestion and reroutes by ECMP-like hash function to compensate bandwidth for slower flows. With large-scale simulation, we validate the effectiveness of Tailor. Tailor behaves well in both symmetric and asymmetric topology. It reduces time cost of DDL training by decreasing about 20-30% tail FCT than other load balancing mechanisms. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays, the IoT (internet of things) botnet has become a huge threat to network security. In response to this threat, we present a cooperative adaptive network intrusion detection system (IDS) framework with fog computing. The core part is cooperation detection architecture based on online adaptive machine learning algorithms. Our CAD-IDS aims to decrease the new attack detection time for all the IoT nodes and reduce the complexity of the cooperative IDS framework. The results of the experiment indicate that our CAD-IDS can detect IoT attacks efficiently and timely. Our ML code is available in https://***/LiQianchang/CAD-IDS-ML-Code. © 2022 IEEE.

First-principles investigation of microscopic mechanisms underlying hole mobilities in diamond, silicon, and germanium

Silicon (Si) dominates the semiconductor industry but currently suffers from significant hole mobility degradation in advanced transistors due to its abnormally low hole mobility (505cm2/Vs), compared to its group IV neighbors, diamond and germanium (Ge) (both ∼2000cm2/Vs). While Ge's high mobility is understandable by its lighter effective hole mass due to its narrower direct bandgap at Γ point, diamond's superior hole mobility remains difficult to understand since its bandgap is ultrawide. Conventional wisdom attributes diamond's high mobility to reduced phonon scattering due to high acoustic phonon group velocity and optical phonon frequency, overcoming its heaviest effective mass. However, our study reveals that this mechanism alone is insufficient to explain the observed mobility. We demonstrate that the diamond's abnormally light effective hole mass is a primary factor contributing to its high mobility; otherwise, its hole mobility would be approximately nine times lower than Si's. The unexpectedly light mass in diamond stems from larger transition matrix elements, resulting from substantial electronic wave-function overlap between valence and conduction bands, remarkably overcoming the effect of diamond's large bandgap. Furthermore, our investigation uncovers a unique feature in diamond's valence band structure: an inherent strain-enhanced mobility characteristic, where the top valence band manifests as a light-hole (lh) state along certain crystallographic directions (e.g., [100]), instead of the typical heavy-hole (hh) state. Contrary to prevailing assumptions, we observe a strong coupling between holes and transverse acoustic (TA) phonons, and even TA scattering dominates over longitudinal acoustic (LA) scattering in both diamond and Si, challenging the long-held belief that TA scattering is negligible. Our calculations yield a dilation deformation potential of 3.45 eV for diamond, significantly diverging from previously reported values, e.g., 7 or −35 eV.

Despite the huge accumulation of scientific literature,it is inefficient and laborious to manually search it for useful information to investigate structure-activity ***,we propose an efficient text-mining framework for the discovery of credible and valuable domain knowledge from abstracts of scientific literature focusing on Nickel-based single crystal ***,the credibility of abstracts is quantified in terms of source timeliness,publication authority and author’s academic ***,eight entity types and domain dictionaries describing Nickel-based single crystal superalloys are predefined to realize the named entity recognition from the abstracts,achieving an accuracy of 85.10%.Thirdly,by formulating 12 naming rules for the alloy brands derived from the recognized entities,we extract the target entities and refine them as domain knowledge through the credibility *** this,we also map out the academic cooperative“Author-Literature-Institute”network,characterize the generations of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys,as well as obtain the fractions of the most important chemical elements in *** extracted rich and diverse knowledge of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys provides important insights toward understanding the structure-activity relationships for Nickel-based single crystal superalloys and is expected to accelerate the design and discovery of novel superalloys.

In current Datacenter Networks (DCNs), Equal-Cost Multipath (ECMP) is a default load balancing scheme. However, using ECMP may result in rapid growth of Flow Completion Time (FCT) due to its well-known drawbacks. In order to solve the problem of ECMP, load balancing schemes with per-packet granularity (such as RPS) and per-flowlet granularity (such as LetFlow) are proposed. These two different granularities have their own features, but there's no existing load balancing considering both their advantages. In this paper, we mix per-flowlet and per-packet in scheduling decisions and introduce the potential performance bottleneck in mixed granularities load balancing. Based on this idea, we propose a hybrid scheme for load balancing, referred to as BOBBLE. The key idea of BOBBLE is to distinguish elephant and mouse flows and schedule them with different granularity. We evaluate BOBBLE in simulations with NS-3. Experiment shows that BOBBLE slightly sacrifices elephant flows FCT but it is worthy because our results demonstrate that BOBBLE is a good trade-off which outperforms RPS and LetFlow in mouse flows FCT in both symmetric and asymmetric topology. © 2021 IEEE.

Curved fronts of bistable reaction-diffusion equations in spatially periodic media: N ≥ 2

This paper is concerned with curved fronts of bistable reaction-diffusion equations in spatially periodic media for dimensions N ≥ 2. The curved fronts concerned are transition fronts connecting 0 and 1. Under a priori assumption that there exist moving pulsating fronts in every direction, we show the existence of polytope-like curved fronts with 0-zone being a polytope and 1-zone being the complementary set. By reversing some conditions, we also show the existence of curved fronts with reversed 0-zone and 1-zone. Furthermore, the curved fronts constructed by us are proved to be unique and asymptotic stable. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Flexible electrode design with robust structure and good performance is one of the priorities for flexible batteries to power emerging wearable electronics,and organic cathode materials have become contenders for flexible self-supporting ***,issues such as easy electrolyte solubility and low intrinsic conductivity contribute to high polarization and rapid capacity ***,we have designed a flexible self-supporting cathode based on perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride(PTCDA),interfacial engineering enhanced by polypyrrole(PPy),and carbon nanotubes(CNTs),forming the interconnected and flexible PTCDA/PPy/CNTs using polymerization reaction and vacuum filtration methods,effectively curbing those *** used as the cathode of sodium-ion batteries,PTCDA/PPy/CNTs exhibit excellent rate capability(105.7 mAh g^(−1) at 20 C),outstanding cycling stability(79.4%capacity retention at 5 C after 500 cycles),and remarkable wide temperature application capability(86.5 mAh g^(−1) at−30℃ and 115.4 mAh g^(−1) at 60℃).The sodium storage mechanism was verified to be a reversible oxidation reaction between two Na+ions and carbonyl groups by density functional theory calculations,in situ infrared Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and in situ Raman ***,the pouch cells based on PTCDA/PPy/CNTs exhibit good mechanical flexibility in various mechanical *** work inspires more rational designs of flexible and self-supporting organic cathodes,promoting the development of high-performance and wide-temperature adaptable wearable electronic devices.

Extraction summarization and abstraction summarization have advantages and disadvantages, so how to better combine these two ways has become a difficult problem. To address this challenge, this paper proposed a new fusion method. The major novelty lies in the design of the new method. Wherein our approach, first, use the text structure information and the idea of the K-means algorithm to divide the text into regions, and then the main part and the non-main parts are determined according to the distribution of the subject words. Next, apply information extraction on the main part and text generation on the non-main parts. Finally, the two parts of the summarization are merged according to the sequence of the text. Experimental results show that the quality of the summarization is better than that of extraction summarization and abstraction summarization. In addition, to make the method more targeted in Chinese text processing, the Cw2vec model based on Chinese stroke information is used in the encoding process, and the experiment proves that the quality of summarization can be further improved. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with a scenario of multiple attackers trying to intercept a target with active *** types of agents are considered in the guidance:The multiple attackers,the target and the defender,where the attackers aim to pursuit the target from different directions and evade from the defender *** guidance engagement is formulated in the framework of a zero-sum two-person differential game between the two opposing teams,such that the measurements on the maneuver of the target or estimations on the defending strategy of the defender can be *** of the attackers resides in two aspects:redundant interception under the threat of the defender and the relative intercept geometry with the *** miss distances,the relative intercept angle errors and the costs of the agents are combined into a single performance index of the *** formulation enables a unitary approach to the design of guidance laws for the *** minimize the control efforts and miss distances for the attackers,an optimization method is proposed to find the best anticipated miss distances to the defender under the constraint that the defender is endowed with a capture *** simulations with two cases are conducted to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed cooperative guidance law.
