Anomalous strain effect on the thermal conductivity of low-buckled two-dimensional silicene

The thermal conductivity of two-dimensional materials, such as graphene, typically decreases when tensile strain is applied, which softens their phonon modes. Here, we report an anomalous strain effect on the thermal conductivity of monolayer silicene, a representative low-buckled two-dimensional (LB-2D)material. Reax FF-based molecular dynamics simulations are performed to show that biaxially stretched monolayer silicene exhibits a remarkable increase in thermal conductivity, by as much as 10 times the freestanding value, with increasing applied strain in the range of [0, 0.1], which is attributed to increased contributions from long-wavelength phonons. A further increase in strain in the range of [0.11, 0.18] results in a plateau of the thermal conductivity in an oscillatory manner, governed by a unique dynamic bonding behavior under extreme loading. This anomalous effect reveals new physical insights into the thermal properties of LB-2D materials and may provide some guidelines for designing heat management and energy conversion devices based on such materials.

In this paper we extend our previous research on coherent observer-based pole placement approach to study the synthesis of robust decoherence-free (DF) modes for linear quantum passive systems, which is aimed at preservation of quantum information. In particular, DF modes can be generated by placing the poles on the imaginary axis via a coherent feedback design scheme, and these modes can further be simultaneously made robust against perturbations to the system parameters by minimizing the condition number associated with imaginary poles. We develop explicit algebraic conditions for the existence of such a coherent quantum controller, with the corresponding deign procedure provided. Examples are given to illustrate the process of tuning the DF modes towards perfect robustness via the proposed pole placement technique. © 2024 IEEE.

The high efficiency of quantum algorithms is caused by the quantum parallelism of the superposition principle and the quantum entangled, but traditional quantum genetic algorithms only use the quantum superposition principle. In order to further improve the performance of the algorithm, this paper proposes a new higher-order quantum genetic algorithm, which adds quantum entanglement properties on the basis of the principle of quantum superposition. Finally, the traditional quantum genetic algorithm and the higher-order quantum genetic algorithm are used to test a set of nonlinear equations many times. The results show that compared with the traditional quantum genetic algorithm, the evolutionary update operation of the higher-order quantum genetic algorithm does not involve multiple judgment conditions of the traditional quantum gate, requires less evolutionary algebra, and can converge quickly. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the past two decades, the field of quantum computing has developed rapidly, is gradually able to solve some difficult classical problems. With the development of the facilities for Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum(NISQ), the NISQ technology addresses the existing Quantum programming languages or frameworks, suggesting that they cannot fully meet the requirements of Quantum computers. In recent years, some quantum programming languages or frameworks have emerged which claim to support the classical computing algorithms of heterogeneous quantum. However, the code is too cumbersome and redundant, and it is difficult to map the code to heterogeneous quantum classical computation while meeting the requirements of timing. Therefore, a modular programming framework of heterogeneous quantum classical computing algorithm with NISQ function is proposed. The framework optimizes the quantum code and retains the quantum classical interactions that satisfy the temporal constraints. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Existing IP geolocation algorithms based on delay similarity often rely on the principle that geographically adjacent IPs have similar ***,this principle is often invalid in real Internet environment,which leads to unreliable geolocation *** improve the accuracy and reliability of locating IP in real Internet,a street-level IP geolocation algorithm based on landmarks clustering is ***,we use the probes to measure the known landmarks to obtain their delay vectors,and cluster landmarks using ***,the landmarks are clustered again by their latitude and longitude,and the intersection of these two clustering results is taken to form training ***,we train multiple neural networks to get the mapping relationship between delay and location in each training ***,we determine one of the neural networks for the target by the delay similarity and relative hop counts,and then geolocate the target by this *** it brings together the delay and geographical coordinates clustering,the proposed algorithm largely improves the inconsistency between them and enhances the mapping relationship between *** evaluate the algorithm by a series of experiments in Hong Kong,Shanghai,Zhengzhou and New *** experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves street-level IP geolocation,and comparing with existing typical streetlevel geolocation algorithms,the proposed algorithm improves the geolocation reliability significantly.

Internet of Things (IoT) is growing with various applications linked in, and node failures are becoming more common as a result of malicious strikes and other issues. The cascading collapse induced by local node failures can be mitigated by robust network topology. Existing approaches for fixed topology enhance the robustness of IoT topology by reconstructing device connections. However, using existing techniques necessitates global topology optimization when new nodes are added, which takes time. To tackle this situation, this study introduces an evolutionary algorithm based on neuroevolution that generates robust IoT topology. It provides IoT topology with inherent robustness when adding extra nodes by utilizing unique mutation and crossover operators. What's more, we establish an adaptive edge density management method to reduce the rise in energy consumption caused by redundant connections when nodes join. Experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme can effectively build robust topology than multiple existing topology optimization methods in less time for diverse network sizes. © 2022 IEEE.

Quantum algorithms of factoring problem have been paid more and more attention since Shor's algorithm was proposed. Combining the current quantum computer hardware level and integer factorization quantum algorithms, this paper proposes a "classical + quantum"hybrid solution. This scheme first adopts classical methods and corresponding rules in the preprocessing step to simplify the nonlinear equations, which is used to reduce the number of qubits needed for the cost Hamiltonian. Then the variational quantum algorithm is used to find the approximate ground state of the cost Hamiltonian, which encodes the solution of the nonlinear equations. The program was verified on the IBM QX4 quantum machine, and the results showed that this hybrid solution can effectively reduce the quantum resources required to solve the nonlinear equations. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Users usually focus on the application-level requirements which are quite friendly and direct to them. However, there are no existing tools automating the application-level requirements to infrastructure provisioning and application deployment. Although some security issues have been solved during the development phase, the undiscovered vulnerabilities remain hidden threats to the application’s security. Cyberspace mimic defense (CMD) technologies can help to enhance the application’s security despite the existence of the vulnerability. In this paper, the concept of SECurity-as-a-Service (SECaaS) is proposed with CMD technologies in cloud environments. The experiment on it was implemented. It is found that the application’s security is greatly improved to meet the user’s security and performance requirements within budgets through SECaaS. The experimental results show that SECaaS can help the users to focus on application-level requirements (monetary costs, required security level, etc.) and automate the process of application orchestration. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Humanoid robot collaborative lifting can be used in a variety of scenarios that require repetitive lifting tasks. Most existing studies of humanoid robot collaboration often assume that objects can always be lifted, which may result in damage to both the robot and the object if objects are too heavy to lift. To avoid such situations as much as possible, a collaborative lifting approach integrating executable judgment is proposed. First, a target search and localization method is constructed using monocular vision and marker points to identify the task object. Then, an executable judgment strategy is designed to determine whether the object is overweight or not according to robot force analysis. Finally, a multi-robot joint control model is proposed based on collaborative communication to perform collaborative tasks with different loads based on the judgment results. Experiments on two humanoid robots for different types and weights of targets show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2022 IEEE.
