In this paper, we analyze the convergence of the adaptive conforming P 1 element method with the red-green refinement. Since the mesh after refining is not nested into the one before, the Galerkin-orthogonality does not hold for this case. To overcome such a difficulty, we prove some quasi-orthogonality instead under some mild condition on the initial mesh (Condition A). Consequently, we show convergence of the adaptive method by establishing the reduction of some total error. To weaken the condition on the initial mesh, we propose a modified red-green refinement and prove the convergence of the associated adaptive method under a much weaker condition on the initial mesh (Condition B).

Currently the highest accurate method for complex aeroelastic system is CFD/CSD coupled numerical simulation. But it is also the least efficient method .So it can't be directly used to design the active control law for aeroelastic system. In order to solve the problem, A reduced order model (ROM) based on time-domain proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) was investigated in this paper. Because the order of time-domain POD/ROM is much higher than frequency-domain POD/ROM, the POD-BT/ROM was developed by introducing the balanced truncation method in control theory. And then the lower order aeroservoelastic model based on POD-BT/ROM was build. The detail of the construction of time-domain POD/ROM and the design of active control law was demonstrated by AGARD 445.6 wing. The numerical results show that the POD/ROM nearly has the same accuracy as the CFD/CSD coupled method and improves the computation efficiency about 1-2 order of magnitude. It's a high efficient and accurate active control law design tool for aeroelastic system.
