This paper presents a real-time pollution monitoring model of convection heating surfaces based on coal online soft sensing, This model reality the optimization calculation of clean factor and get the information of coal moisture, ash content and ultimate only according to the existing measuring points and data in the Distributed control system (DCS) of thermal power plants, no need to use additional equipment. Used this technique in 1000MW power units and the result shows that, the computational accuracy of clean factor has greatly improved, which will correct the boiler blowing operation. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In view of the current high rate of abandoned wind, photovoltaic power generation costs and wind-fire bundling mode, in the active power control of the wind of low load operation of motor fluctuations in the fire team leader, the subject in the study of wind power, photovoltaic power generation, power, battery energy storage based on the load response characteristic, design the scheduler, a wind and photovoltaic power plant active power scheduling for equipment, allocation of plant-level optimal load distribution system of the thermal power plant joint scheduling, in order to improve the stability of output of new energy, reduce the energy consumption of the whole network. At the same time, the wind and photovoltaic power plant energy storage system and wind farm output coordination problem is equivalent to a mixed integer programming problem to be solved, to simultaneously determine fans and solar panels and bear the load rate;for thermal power plant load distribution optimization design of the minimum unit involved in strategy reduces the effect of variable load, variable load on set pressure and high temperature parts life. This topic to some extent to improve the wind energy and solar energy utilization, helps to reduce the carbon fuel usage, has certain theoretical and practical significance. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Circulating fluidized bed boiler(CFBB) is a distributed parameter, nonlinear, time-varying and multivariate coupling system. Considering these, the core identity of Rough Set and the theory of self-organizing neural fuzzy inference system is applied to the control system of CFBB. When wind farm accepts grid scheduling, target load needs to dispatch to each wind turbine to complete. In order to improve the power control capability of the wind farm in the case of random wind fluctuations, a wind farm power control strategy, based on wind wheel rotation energy storage of variable speed wind turbine, is proposed. Firstly, a wind turbine energy storage assessment model is established, and an energy storage state evaluation method, which considers the balance of wind turbine rotational energy and regulating ability, is proposed. Based on this, a mathematical model of wind farm energy storage optimum is pretended, and a solving strategy based on genetic algorithm is designed, too. Finally, the platform for the implementation of the proposed control strategy is introduced. The control strategy proposed in this paper can effectively enhance the ability of the wind turbines' power control and reduce the impact of the uncertainty wind speed to the power response of the wind farm.

Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) is particularly suitable for the recovery of energy from low-quality heat sources. In this paper, a generalized predictive controller is proposed for a low-quality heat recovery process operating on an Organic Rankine Cycle. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can achieve good transient and steady response along with decoupling performance. © 2012 IEEE.

Optimal short-term load dispatch strategy in wind farm

With the increasing number of wind farms in power systems, the scheduling of a single wind farm needs to be improved. For this end, this paper proposes an optimal short-term load dispatch strategy for a single wind farm. Firstly, considering the large number of wind units and the high dimensionality of the scheduling solutions, we analyze the unit load characteristics, from which we extract the unit load characteristic matrix, and then classify the wind power units with the FCM fuzzy clustering algorithm. Secondly, we define the running loss indicator and action loss indicator. Based on the prediction of wind power and the load instructions, we establish a unit commitment model in wind farm, and solve the model using a combination of the fuzzy clustering algorithm and genetic algorithm, which overcomes the difficulty of the high dimensionality of the solution in the wind farm scheduling problem, to obtain the optimal scheduling strategy. Finally, through the simulation of the scheduling strategy for a 45 MW wind farm, we demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Considering the electricity price’s volatility and various elements which affect the price in the electricity market, the paper presents hybrid model for the day-ahead electricity market clearing price forecasting. The paper adopts autoregressive moving average (ARMAX) model to reveal the linear relationship between power load and electricity price;the generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH) model to reveal the heteroskedasticity properties of residual. Simultaneously the paper presents the inexactness and irrationality that modeling by the historical data long ago to forecast the price with the change of the time, then presents the rolling forecast that constantly using the latest data to modeling the ARMAX-AR-GARCH model. To reveal the nonlinear relationship between power load and electricity price, the paper adopts least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM). Using the proposed method, the day-ahead electricity prices of California electricity market are forecasted, prediction results show the efficiency of the proposed method.

In this paper, genetic algorithm and modified dynamic programming are applied to path planning of robotic fish for the first time. Using grid method to the environment modeling and applying genetic algorithm to the path planning, an optimal or sub-optimal robot path can be obtained. Since the robotic fish can't track linear motion, the robot path can be seen as several circular arc. Based on the optimal path obtained via genetic algorithm, modified dynamic programming algorithm is proposed to calculate the shortest circular arc path, fish velocity and direction in every step. Finally the experiment on the robotic fish control software shows the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2011 Intl Journal of Adv Mechatr.

A new Robust Least Squares Support Vector Machine for Regression with Outliers

The least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) is sensitive to noises or outliers. To address the drawback, a new robust least squares support vector machine (RLS-SVM) is introduced to solve the regression problem with outliers. A fuzzy membership function, which is determined by heuristic method, is assigned to each training sample as a weight. For each data point, firstly a deleted input neighborhood is found when the high-dimension feature space of input is focused on. Then the new field is reformulated after the output is brought in the neighborhood which we have found. The fuzzy membership function (weight) is set according to the distance from the data point to the center of its neighborhood and the radius of the neighborhood, which implies the probability to be an outlier. Two benchmark simulation experiments and analysis are presented to verify that the performance is improved.
