Accurate ultra-short-term photovoltaic (PV) power forecasting is crucial for the real-time scheduling of grid systems. However, the inherent variability of solar energy makes this task extremely challenging. To enhance PV power forecasting, this paper introduces a novel hybrid model named PVTimesNet, designed to harness the strengths of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory Network (LSTM) for effective feature extraction. PVTimesNet consists of two parallel branches: the CNN1d branch, which captures correlations between multiple variables and adjacent time steps, and the LSTM branch, which learns the temporal dependencies within the PV power sequences. The features extracted by both branches are then concatenated and passed through a fully connected layer to generate multi-step PV power forecasts. Experimental results demonstrate that for forecast horizons of 1 to 4 hours, the proposed model significantly outperforms individual models and other CNN-LSTM hybrid structures. Additionally, it exhibits superior performance compared to related methods for longer forecast horizons. © 2024 IEEE.

Converter-driven motor systems play crucial roles in contemporary industrial applications owning to the advantages of smooth starting and stepless speed regulation. For such fourth-order systems with both immeasurable states and mismatched disturbances, a finite-time control solution is proposed to address the speed tracking problem in this paper. Firstly, a finite-time observer is constructed to precisely estimate the immeasurable states and mismatched disturbances. Then, based on integral terminal sliding mode control (ITSMC), a continuous finite-time controller is designed for the systems to achieve both rapid response and superior speed tracking performance. Furthermore, a rigorous global finite-time stability analysis for the closed-loop system is presented. Finally, simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control method. As compared with existing methods, the composite ITSMC algorithm design demonstrates reliable finite-time speed tracking performance and exceptional capability in disturbance rejection. © 2023 IEEE.

With the pervasive integration of artificial intelligence into all aspects of human life, talent emerges as a primary resource. Upon analysing the current state of talent training in higher education institutions, issues such as dispersed knowledge points, overlapping content, a singular practice approach and ineffective evaluation have been identified. In response to these challenges, this paper proposes a multidisciplinary and comprehensive practical teaching methodology grounded in the knowledge graph framework. It delves into diverse paths for practical teaching and assessment, including aspects like teaching objectives, problem decomposition, resource integration, implementation methods and performance evaluation. The practical application of the SSD algorithm in researching service robot indoor object detection serves as an illustrative example. Employing the holistic practical teaching approach facilitated by the knowledge graph, this model guides students in acquiring object detection expertise, thereby enhancing their comprehensive development. Change Detection is a classic and fundamental task in remote sensing(RS), and has accomplish remarkable achievement on bitemporal image based methods. However, bitemporal images are very expensive and needs professional researchers to align and label the paired images. Furthermore, most bitemporal image based methods are only semantic-aware not instance-aware, which indicates these methods only use paired images' semantic information. Thus, we propose a method that only needs unpaired RS images with semantic labels. In this paper, we introduce multi-task learning into change detection progress, which comprises four major parts: Boundary-Aware Module, Contextual-Aware Module, Segmentation Module, Change Detection Module. At first, we construct Boundary-Aware Module and Contextual-Aware Module to extract sharp boundary and dense contextual features. Then we feed the feature maps to Change Detection Module and Segmentation Module to accomplish the subtasks. The comprehensive experiments on a single temporal image dataset demonstrate the efficiency of our approach over other bitemporal image based methods, and the experimental results shows our approach is competitive with other methods while all methods was trained on bitemporal image dataset. © 2023 ACM.

Prescribed-Time Event-Triggered N-Coalition Nash Equilibrium Seeking for Disturbed Second-Order Players and Its Application

In this article, Nash equilibrium seeking in the N-coalition noncooperative game is studied for the second-order disturbed players. In this formulation, players are divided into different coalitions. Each coalition acts as a virtual player in the noncooperative game, but the real decision-maker is the individual player. Players within the same coalition work together to minimize the cost function of the coalition they belong to, while each coalition competitively minimizes its own cost function. A prescribed-time event-triggered N-coalition Nash equilibrium seeking strategy is proposed based on the gradient descent method and the dynamic average consensus protocol. The proposed algorithm ensures that the players’ actions converge to the Nash equilibrium of the N-coalition game within a prescribed time, which can be assigned in advance, without any knowledge of the initial states and the system parameters. Additionally, information exchanges between players only happen when the designed event-triggering condition is met, thereby reducing the communication burden. The prescribed-time stability of the N-coalition Nash equilibrium is rigorously proven by Lyapunov stability analysis. The Zeno behavior is shown to be prevented until the Nash equilibrium is reached. Finally, the simulation experiments on maneuvering automated ground vehicles demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

A Novel Hybrid Transformer-Based Framework for Solar Irradiance Forecasting under Incomplete Data Scenarios

Accurate prediction of solar irradiance is crucial for the effective utilization of solar energy. However, in real-world scenarios, complex irradiance patterns and prevalent incomplete data pose challenges to precise forecasting, resulting in additional uncertainties and instability. To address these issues, this study proposes a novel irradiance forecasting model that integrates a Mask-Transformer data imputation module and a prediction module centered around the typical patterns representation mechanism. The Mask-Transformer leverages a mask modeling mechanism to model the context of missing data, facilitating accurate estimation of missing values and reducing noise and uncertainty in the input data. The typical patterns representation mechanism comprises a series decomposition module and a feature fusion module, providing the module with the capability to mitigate nonlinearity and nonstationarity in solar irradiance data. This enhancement leads to improved short-term forecasting performance while maintaining long-term forecasting capabilities. Experimental results on two datasets demonstrate that the proposed model exhibits sufficient robustness and accuracy, making it effective in scenarios with incomplete data. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

The development of the new energy automobile industry is an important direction to accelerate the construction of a powerful automobile country, and it is also an effective means to break the constraints of energy and environment, which is of great strategic significance to China. In this article, based on the perspective of the development of the overall new energy vehicle industry, we analyze the market size and development stage of China's new energy vehicle industry, and explore the characteristics of the industry's development. Further, this paper analyzes the industry risks of the future development of new energy vehicles under the background of the imminent withdrawal of government financial subsidies and the transition of the new energy vehicle industry from policy-driven to market-driven, and provides theoretical support for the healthy and sustainable development of Chinese new energy vehicle industry. © 2023 SPIE.

Data-Driven Multi-step Nonlinear Model Predictive control for Industrial Heavy Load Hydraulic Robot

Automating complex industrial robots requires precise nonlinear control and efficient energy management. This paper introduces a data-driven nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) framework to optimize control under multiple objectives. To enhance the prediction accuracy of the dynamic model, we design a single-shot multi-step prediction (SSMP) model based on long short-term memory (LSTM) and multilayer perceptrons (MLP), which can directly obtain the predictive horizon without iterative repetition and reduce computational pressure. Moreover, we combine offline and online models to address disturbances stemming from environmental interactions, similar to the superposition of the robot’s free and forced responses. The online model learns the system’s variations from the prediction mismatches of the offline model and updates its weights in real time. The proposed hybrid predictive model simplifies the relationship between inputs and outputs into matrix multiplication, which can quickly obtain the derivative. Therefore, the solution for the control signal sequence employs a gradient descent method with an adaptive learning rate, allowing the NMPC cost function to be formulated as a convex function incorporating critical states. The learning rate is dynamically adjusted based on state errors to counteract the inherent prediction inaccuracies of neural networks. The controller outputs the average value of the control signal sequence instead of the first value. Simulations and experiments on a 22-ton hydraulic excavator have validated the effectiveness of our method, showing that the proposed NMPC approach can be widely applied to industrial systems, including nonlinear control and energy management. Rethinking Iterative Stereo Matching from Diffusion Bridge Model Perspective

Recently, iteration-based stereo matching has shown great potential. However, these models optimize the disparity map using RNN variants. The discrete optimization process poses a challenge of information loss, which restricts the level of detail that can be expressed in the generated disparity map. In order to address these issues, we propose a novel training approach that incorporates diffusion models into the iterative optimization process. We designed a Time-based Gated Recurrent Unit (T-GRU) to correlate temporal and disparity outputs. Unlike standard recurrent units, we employ Agent Attention to generate more expressive features. We also designed an attention-based context network to capture a large amount of contextual information. Experiments on several public benchmarks show that we have achieved competitive stereo matching performance. Our model ranks first in the Scene Flow dataset, achieving over a 7% improvement compared to competing methods, and requires only 8 iterations to achieve state-of-the-art results. This paper presents an enhanced friction compensation anti-disturbance control strategy for improving the speed regulation control performance of a permanent magnet synchronous motor operating in low-speed mode. This is achieved via friction modelling and lumped disturbance compensation by seamlessly integrating extended state observer (ESO) and Kalman filter algorithms. Considering that nonlinear friction torque can not be ignored at low speeds, a piece-wise linearized friction model is first established based on speed estimation of Kalman filter and ESO. Then feed-forward compensation of friction torque and lumped disturbance estimation is conducted to reduce speed fluctuation during load changes at low speeds. Comparative simulation studies in the presence of measurement noises, external disturbances and nonlinear friction torque are conducted to validate the proposed algorithm with improved performance. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.
