It has long posed a challenging task to optimally deploy multi-agent systems (MASs) to cooperatively coverage poriferous environments in real cooperative detection applications. In response to this challenge, this paper proposes a hierarchical coverage control (HCC) protocol for MASs to perform sector-based coverage operations. First, a distributed Voronoi partition-based sweep-and-assign protocol, combined with a sectorial partition method, is developed, enabling the segmentation of a whole poriferous region into multiple sectorial sub-subregions. Following this procedure, an extreme search scheme is developed to determine the optimal amount of agents for each subregion. After this allocation, a distributed controller is proposed to deploy the agents, considering non-holonomic constraints, into designated niche positions. Additionally, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the asymptotical stability of the present HCC. The analytical challenge of the present study stems from the non-convex characteristics inherent in the loss function induced by porous environments. This non-convexity renders the task of globally optimizing the assignment of MASs intractable. Finally, numerical simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the present coverage control approach. © 2014 IEEE.

The impact of new dual-credit policy on electric vehicle (EV) diffusion is examined through complex network evolutionary game theory, we find that merely tightening new energy vehicle (NEV) credit rule and corporate average fuel consumption (CAFC) credit rule may not necessarily benefit the growth of auto industry. This paper further discusses the influence of different update strategies on EV diffusion. The results indicate that with the increase of NEV credit accounting coefficient, the upper limit of threshold interval of NEV credit trading price remains unchanged, while lower limit decreases. With the decrease of ratio of standard CAFC to target CAFC or the increase of requirement of NEV credits for fuel vehicle manufacturer, the upper and lower limits of threshold interval of NEV credit price are reduced. With the increasing network scale, the driving effect of Fermi function is gradually superior to EWA algorithm. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Global State control for a Class of Inherently Higher-order Parameterized Nonlinear Time-delay systems Based on Homogeneous Domination Approach

This paper addresses the problem of global state feedback stabilization for a class of inherently higher-order parameterized nonlinear systems subject to time-delay. By using the homogeneous domination approach, we construct a homogeneous state feedback controller with an adaptive strategy. A constructive design method is developed based an effective coupling of the inductive method and a sign function, leading to adaptive regulators with minimal parameterization. With the aid of a homogeneous Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the closedloop systems can be asymptotically stabilized globally. © 2015, IFAC (International Federation of Automatic control) Hosting by Elsevier Ltd. Graph Neural Networks (GNN) has become a powerful graph data processing method, which has been widely used in node classification, link prediction, and other graph analysis tasks. Due to the diversity and complexity of graph structures and information propagation, as well as the handling of heterogeneous graphs, etc., the design of GNNs presents many challenges. The existing methods have high classification accuracy, but their structures are very complex. In this paper, a graph neural network architecture search framework named MO-GNN, which is based on multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is proposed. Furthermore, a weight sharing strategy MO-GNN-WS is proposed to reduce the resource consumption caused by weight training of different architectures. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, experiments on four popular graph datasets are used for transduction and induction tasks. The experimental results show that the MO-GNN-WS algorithm outperforms the most advanced neural network architecture search methods in terms of classification accuracy and resource consumption. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Balanced prioritized experience replay in off-policy reinforcement learning

In Off-Policy reinforcement learning (RL), the experience imbalance problem can affect learning performance. The experience imbalance problem refers to the phenomenon that the experiences obtained by the agent during the learning process are unevenly distributed in the state space, resulting in the agent’s inability to accurately estimate the value of each potential state. This problem is typically caused by environments with high-dimensional state and action spaces, as well as the exploration–exploitation mechanism inherent in RL. This article proposes a balanced prioritized experience replay (BPER) algorithm based on experience rarity. First, an evaluation metric to quantify experience rarity is defined. Then, the sampling priority of each experience is calculated according to this metric. Finally, prioritized experience replay is performed according to the sampling priority. BPER increases the sampling frequency of high-rarity experiences and decreases the sampling frequency of low-rarity experiences, enabling the agent to learn more comprehensive knowledge. We evaluate BPER on a series of MuJoCo continuous control tasks. Experimental results show that BPER can effectively improve the learning performance while mitigating the impact of the experience imbalance problem. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

A multi-modal emotion recognition method based on facial multi-scale features and cross-modal attention (MS-FCA) network is proposed. The MSFCA model improves the traditional single-branch ViT network into a two-branch ViT architecture by using classification tokens in each branch to interact with picture embeddings in the other branch, which facilitates effective interactions between different scales of information. Subsequently, audio features are extracted using ResNet18 network. The cross-modal attention mechanism is used to obtain the weight matrices between different modal features, making full use of inter-modal correlation and effectively fusing visual and audio features for more accurate emotion recognition. Two datasets are used for the experiments: eNTERFACE'05 and REDVESS dataset. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method on the eNTERFACE'05 and REDVESS datasets is 85.42% and 83.84% respectively, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The problem on stabilization for the system with distributed delays is researched. The distributed time-delay under consideration is assumed to be a constant time-delay, but not known exactly. A design method is proposed for a memory proportional and integral （PI） feedback controller with adaptation to distributed time-delay. The feedback controller with memory simultaneously contains the current state and the past distributed information of the addressed systems. The design for adaptation law to distributed delay is very concise. The controller can be derived by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the design method.

Directly scheduled unit, as a kind of excellent frequency regulation resource, plays an important role in the control of China's interconnected power grid. First of all, based on the regional control model, the theory of the "closed area" of the direct-dispatching generators is demonstrated, and the mechanism of suppressing the regional control error(ACE) by this method is revealed. Then, based on Virtual Partition(VP), the tie-line bias control(TBC) method for hierarchical control structure is designed. This method enables the power of each tie-line to reach the rated value. Finally, the correctness and feasibility of the proposed method are verified by the standard IEEE 10-unit 39-bus system.

This paper discusses the data-driven design of linear quadratic regulators,i.e.,to obtain the regulators directly from experimental data without using the models of *** particular,we aim to improve an existing design method by reducing the amount of the required experimental *** the data amount leads to the cost reduction of experiments and computation for the data-driven *** present a simplified version of the existing method,where parameters yielding the gain of the regulator are estimated from only part of the data required in the existing *** then show that the data amount required in the presented method is less than half of that in the existing method under certain *** addition,assuming the presence of measurement noise,we analyze the relations between the expectations and variances of the estimated parameters and the *** a result,it is shown that using a larger amount of the experimental data might mitigate the effects of the noise on the estimated *** results are verified by numerical examples.

Spraying technology has been applied more and more widely in aeronautical manufacturing field. However, aeronautical test workpieces usually have unstructured and complex shapes, which makes the spraying inefficient and the quality of coating cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, this paper designs an automatic programming and simulation system for aeronautical workpiece spraying. And the kinematics and inverse kinematics modeling of NACHI robot, spraying parameters optimization and trajectory planning of the robot are studied in detail. This paper also designs the simulation experiments on typical aeronautical test workpieces, and the result shows that this system can improve the spraying efficiency and coating thickness effect, which has a certain universality and effectiveness. © 2021 IEEE.
