This paper considers the problem of attitude synchronization for a group of flexible spacecraft based on distributed attitude cooperative control strategy. Based on the backstepping design, non-smooth control, and the neighbor-based design rule, a distributed attitude control law is constructed step by step. Under the proposed control law, it is shown that the attitude synchronization is achieved asymptotically and the induced vibration by flexible appendages is simultaneously suppressed. © IFAC.

We study the circle formation problem for a group of anonymous mobile agents in a plane, in which the agents are required to converge onto a circle with a preset target as the center, as well as to maintain the desired relative positions when rotating around the target at the same speed. Each agent is modeled as a kinematic point and can merely perceive the relative positions of the target and its limited neighbors. In order to solve the circle formation problem, a limit-cycle-based decoupled-design approach is *** divide the overall control objective into two subobjectives, where the first is target circling that all agents converge onto the circle around the target, and the second is spacing adjustment that each agent maintains the desired distance from its neighbors. Then, we propose to use a controller comprised of converging part and layout part to deal with these two subobjectives, respectively. The former part is based on a limit-cycle oscillator using only the relative position from the target, and the latter is designed by also perceiving the relative position from the agent's neighbors. An important feature of the controller is that it guarantees that no collision between agents ever takes place throughout the system's evolution. Another feature is that some of the parameters in the proposed controller have explicit physical meanings related to the agents' rotating motion around the target, so that they can be set more reasonable and easily in real applications. Numerical simulations are given to show the effectiveness and performance of the proposed circle formation controller. © 2017 IEEE.

Researchers have always been popular with analyzing and controlling nonlinear systems, yet most methods are based on local linearized models. As an alternative, Koopman theory was introduced to solve global linearization problems. Koopman operator is infinite-dimensional and has the ability to globally linearize nonlinear systems without information loss. In this work, a Koopman autoencoder, which combines the Koopman operator and autoencoder network, is used for predicting nonlinear systems. The autoencoder network is designed to find an approximate finite-dimensional Koopman operator. An inverted pendulum dynamic system is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the Koopman autoencoder, and accurate prediction results have been achieved. Furthermore, we discussed the effect of latent layer neuron number in the Koopman autoencoder, prediction results are given, and the best number of latent layer neurons for this system is found. © 2022 IEEE.

With the rise of deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs), considerable attention has been paid to video anomaly detection (VAD). Autoencoders are a popular type of framework for VAD, and many existing VAD methods are based on it. However, these methods take an assumption of closed-world VAD, i.e., do not comprehensively consider the diversity of normal patterns. Besides, a competent CNN allows the autoencoder to reconstruct or predict abnormal video frames proficiently, resulting in missing anomalies. To mitigate these drawbacks, we propose an Autoencoder with a Memory Module (AMM) to realize video anomaly detection by predicting video frames. AMM consists of three modules: An encoder, a decoder, and a memory module. First, the consecutive frames are fed into the encoder to yield latent spatial features. Then, the features are utilized to retrieve corresponding memory items in the memory module to generate memory mapping features. Finally, the memory mapping features are adopted in the decoder for predicting the next frame. To match the queries against memory items accurately, we propose a memory triplet loss, which takes into account both size and angle discrepancies between the queries and memory items. At the training stage, AMM utilizes the memory triplet loss, a prediction loss, and multi-scale structure similarity measure. Moreover, the modes of retrieving and updating memory items are ameliorated by a scaled dot product model, which can alleviate vanishing gradient problems to a certain extent. Extensive experiments are conducted on three benchmark public datasets, and the results demonstrate the superior performance of AMM. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper deals with an approach to the automatic construction and optimization of the knowledge mesh (KM) based on the user's function requirements. Once a KM multiple set operation expression is obtained, a new KM can be inferred from the expression by the developed KM-based inference engine and transformed into its corresponding KMS (knowledgeable manufacturing system) software automatically by the developed automatic program construction software so as to realize the self-reconfiguration of the KMS. Thus, the automatic construction and optimization of a KM multiple set operation expression is equivalent to the automatic construction and optimization of its corresponding KM and KMS software. To explore the automatic construction and optimization of the new KM by the user's function requirements, an automatic construction procedure of a KM aiming at the user's maximum function-satisfaction is proposed. Firstly, the fuzzy function-satisfaction degree relationships of the users' requirements for the KM functions are defined, and so are the multiple fuzzy function-satisfaction degrees of the relationships. Secondly, operations (union, intersection and minus) on both fuzzy and multiple fuzzy function-satisfaction degrees are proposed and clarified, along with the proof that there exists a one-to-one mapping between the KM multiple set operation expression and the KM-function-satisfaction degree expression. Then, the optimization model of the KM multiple set operation expression is constructed and proved to be very NP-hard. And finally, the KM multiple set operation expression is optimized by the hybrid genetic-tabu algorithm, with the steps of the KM's automatic construction presented in detail as well. Based upon the above, the KM's automatic construction and optimization are illustrated by an actual KM example which corresponds to the management information system (MIS) software used in a vehicle body plant. The proposed approach proves to be very effective. © 2011

This paper carried out the absorbance experiments on different pesticide formulations and mixed pesticide concentration sensor design for online mixing system based on the precision spray requirements. There are many different pesticide formorlations, among which wettable powder (WP) and emulsifiable concentrates (EC) are most widely used ones in China. The optical methods were chosen for quick and precise measurement based on the physical characteristics of commonly used pesticide formulations and generally low spraying concentrations. Firstly we carried out monochromatic light absorbance experiments to study the optical properties of different pesticide formulations. We prepared the solutions with different possible spraying concentrations of WP and EC of several commonly used pesticdes and used UV-Vis spectrophotometer to measur the absorbance of the prepared solutions. The experiment results show that: in the UV-visible wavelength range, the absorbances of the suspension or emulsion of WP or EC generally decrease with increasing optical wavelength, but the solution concentration and the absorbance value is not proportional. In the 600-800nm range the absorbances have good differentiation. In order to select the appropriate absorbance range of wavelengths and considering the available of laser diode, the monochromatic light with wavelength of 650nm was chosen as the source light. Then we carried out the preliminary design of mixed pesticide concentration sensor. The sensor is composed of monochromatic light source module, the light detection circuit and signal processing module. The structure of the sensor was also preliminarily designed.

Determination of Polynomial Degree in the Regression of Drug Combinations

Studies on drug combinations are becoming more and more popular in the past few decades, with the development of computer and algorithms. One of the most common methods in optimizing drug combinations is regression of a polynomial model based on certain number of experimental observations. In this paper, we study how to determine the degree of polynomials in different circumstances of drug combination optimization. Using cross-validation, we have found that in most cases, a high degree results in failures of accurate prediction, named overfitting. An anti-noise test has also revealed that polynomial model with high degree tends to be less resistant to random errors in the observations. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.

Changes in snowmelt flooding and driver factors in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

Flooding is one of the most frequent disasters in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is highly dangerous and destructive, and seriously hinders regional socio-economic development. In this study, the Block Maximum (BM) model and the Peak Over Threshold (POT) model were used to analyze the spatial and temporal characteristics of snowmelt floods in the Kashgar River Basin and the Indus River Basin of CPEC during 1948–2022. Historical floods were classified based on principal component analysis and the k-means clustering algorithm. The main climatic factors of snowmelt floods were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and random forest model. The results indicated that 85 and 93 snowmelt flood events occurred respectively in the two basins, mainly in spring (March–May). The occurrence of snowmelt floods was advanced in the Kashgar River Basin, while that in the Indus River Basin was delayed. Five and four flood classes were identified in the Kashgar River Basin and the Indus River Basin, respectively. Attribution analysis suggested that the snow factors are key preconditions, especially the 14-day antecedent maximum SWE (MSWE). The Kashgar River Basin was more sensitive to 7-day cumulative precipitation (CPr7) from 1982 to 1999, but to 7-day cumulative daily average temperature (TEMP7) from 2000 to 2020. The Indus River Basin was more sensitive to 1-day cumulative precipitation (CPr1) from 1982 to 1999. However, the impact of CPr7 on snowmelt floods increased from 2000 to 2020. The study provides scientific and technological support for snowmelt flood forecasting and prevention in CPEC and regional disaster prevention and mitigation efforts. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

In this paper,an observer-based adaptive prescribed performance tracking control scheme is developed for a class of uncertain multi-input multi-output nonlinear systems with or without input saturation.A novel finite-time neural network disturbance observer is constructed to estimate the system uncertainties and external *** guarantee the prescribed performance,an error transformation is applied to transfer the time-varying constraints into a constant ***,by employing a barrier Lyapunov function and the backstepping technique,an observer-based tracking control strategy is *** is proven that using the proposed algorithm,all the closedloop signals are bounded,and the tracking errors satisfy the predefined time-varying performance ***,simulation results on a quadrotor system are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
