A new composite nonlinear predictive control(NPC) method based on finite-time disturbance observer is proposed for Mars entry drag trajectory tracking. The composite controller uses nonlinear predictive control strategy in a feedback regulation way to obtain desired tracking performance and uses the disturbance estimation based on finite-time disturbance observer(FTDO)to compensate uncertainty in a feedforward way. The proposed guidance law not only compensates the matched disturbance but also the mismatched disturbance. The drag tracking error is also guaranteed to converge to 0 even when the disturbance is time-varying and related with states.

Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm (AFSA) since 2002 has been proposed by Dr. Li Xiao-lei more than ten years, and has been widely used in various engineering fields. However, since a lot of comprehensive standard running tests has not yet been made with the algorithm, it has not yet been unanimously recognized by the international academic community. By 34 Benchmark Functions tested with AFSA, the result evaluation for functions that are applicable and not applicable by AFSA is summarized. Also in order to overcome the drawbacks of Global Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm (GAFSA) such as slow convergence and low precision, a modified GAFSA(MS_GAFSA) is proposed. Combined with GAFSA and Modified Simplex, the algorithm can improve the convergence speed and precision of optimization. When GAFSA converges to the global optimum nearby, a simplex is constructed and the algorithm switches to Modified Simplex method which will continue to optimize until a certain stop condition is satisfied. Take the best point of simplex vertex at this time as the optimal value. The computational results on 34 Benchmark functions show that MS_GAFSA does improve in optimizing accuracy and convergence speed. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Multi-variable systems widely exist in the practical engineering control systems whose performances are always severely interrupted by strong disturbances including unmodeled dynamics, parameter variations, couplings and external disturbances. Disturbance observer(DOB) is known as an effective technique to estimate disturbances and has been extensively applied for feed-forward compensation design in the presence of disturbances. Yet many disturbance observer techniques in previous literature are just used for single-input-single-output(SISO) systems or the DOBs can be applied in the multi-variable systems, but the DOBs are still SISO DOBs. A decoupled robust multi-input-multi-output neural network disturbance observer(MNNDOB) is designed for the multi-input-multi-output(MIMO) systems. Simulation results on the mixing tank show that the proposed method has better disturbance estimation performance when there are severe model mismatches compared with the MIMO linear disturbance observer.

Convolutional neural network (CNN) has achieved great success in many vision tasks. A key to this success is its ability to powerful automatically learns both high-level and low-level features. In general, low-level features have a small size of receptive fields and appear multiple times in different locations of objects, while high-level semantic features have a relatively large size of receptive fields and only appear once in a specific location of objects. However, traditional CNN treats these two kinds of features in the same manner, i.e., learning them by the convolution operation, which can be approximately considered as cumulating the probabilities that a feature appears in different locations. This strategy is reasonable for low-level features but not for high-level semantic ones, especially in the case of pedestrian detection, where a local feature can be shared by different locations but a semantic part, e.g., a head, only appears once for a human. To jointly model the spatial structure and appearance of high-level semantic features, we propose a new module to learn spatially weighted max pooling in CNN. The proposed method is evaluated on several pedestrian detection databases and the experimental results show that it achieves much better performance than traditional CNN.

Vibration and noise are important engineering problem and many methods have been developed to control and/or absorb the *** to now,there are a number of strategies to control the response of a system such as passive control,active control,semi-active control and hybrid *** achieve perfect performance of target system,the structures or mechanical systems should be designed to suit for different types of loading such as particularly dynamic and transient loads,and to obtain high static stiffness resulting in a small static deflection and a small dynamic stiffness resulting in a low natural *** mainaim of this paper is to improve the nonlinear pendulum system with negative stiffness suspension element with external excitation,and to explore the bifurcation and chaos characteristics contained in the pendulum *** governing equations of pendulum are derived by Lagrange *** analyze the bifurcation of nonlinear response of pendulum system,the phase portrait and bifurcation diagram are obtained ***,the Floquet multipliers are obtained by solving the perturbation equation with original equation with numerical *** results show that the main responses of pendulum system are periodic,and through saddle node bifurcation the system come into chaotic *** parametric resonance may occur when the excitation frequency closed to the natural frequency at vertical direction of whole *** variation of stiffness and excitation frequency has a large influence on the performance of the pendulum,and the amplitude of excitation may deduce unbounded motion in the resonance region.

In this paper, the design and development of a Building Energy and Environment Monitoring System (BEEMS) for smart campus applications is proposed. The system is implemented based on distributed sensor nodes using ZigBee technology, which empowers the collection and monitoring of various types of measurements that reflect the energy consumption and environmental status of buildings. These parameters include temperature, humidity, air velocity, sound, bubble globe temperature, TVOC, CO2 concentration, air quality level, et al. The application software system is developed using jQuery-based Ajax general interactive architecture, and further integrated with campus GIS, which offers rich analysis and report functions for monitoring both energy consumption and environment parameters. © 2014 SERSC.

Components of power systems essentially belong to a special class of nonlinear differential-algebraic equations subsystem, whose index is one and interconnection is locally measurable. In this paper, the decentralized control problem is discussed using inverse systems method for such class of power systems components. Firstly, the definition of α -order integral right inverse system is presented. Secondly, a recursive algorithm is proposed to judge whether the controlled component is invertible. Then a physically feasible α -order integral right inverse system is constructed with which the controlled component is made linearization and decoupled, so that linear control theory and methods can be applied. Finally, a decentralized excitation controller is designed for one synchronous generator within multi-machine power systems based on the proposed method in this *** simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

The objective of this paper is to address the linear state-feedback control problem for a family of high-order uncertain nonlinear systems. Based on the adding a power integrator technique, the authors recursively construct a linear controller with dynamic gains, which can be used to deal with the uncertain nonlinear terms and simplify the controller structure. Moreover, it is proved that the proposed control law can globally regulate system states to the origin and guarantee the boundedness of all the signals of the closed-loop system as well. Finally, a simulation example is presented with some comparison with the existing result so as to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design scheme.

This paper considers the problem of global decentralized stabilization for a class of large-scale feedforward nonlinear systems. First, by using generalized homogeneous systems theory, a local linear decentralized control law is recursively constructed. Second, a series of nested saturation functions are integrated with the proposed local linear control law to render the whole closed-loop large-scale system global asymptotical stability. Due to the flexibility of the generalized homogeneous systems theory, the proposed approach not only weakens the existing restrictions imposed on the interconnected nonlinearities, but also can be applied to more general classes of large-scale feedforward nonlinear systems. Numerical example shows that the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
