Driven by advancements in industrial production and artificial intelligence, the need for pose estimation of new ob-jects in areas like robotic manipulation and virtual reality is increasing. We introduce a zero-shot object pose estimation approach that identifies the poses of objects excluded from the training dataset, removing the requirement for re-modeling. The method is built around a multi-level features fusion framework de-signed to enhance generalization. First, a trainable feature extraction module filters and selects multi-level features extracted by the backbone network. Unlike traditional convolutional ker-nels, we incorporate a dynamic convolution kernel to enhance the feature extraction capability. Second, in the feature fusion module, we adopt a dynamic weight generation strategy to perform weighted fusion of multi-level features. This method enhances template matching by effectively describing similarities between unseen objects (those absent from the training set) and templates, leveraging robust and adaptive feature representations to narrow the gap with seen objects. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance on two popu-lar benchmark datasets, LineMod and LineMod-Occlusion, proves that our method has better generalization than previous models.

Image segmentation plays a crucial role in target recognition as it provides an essential prerequisite for identifying targets. However, UNet cannot acquire comprehensive information about the image, which limits its ability to effectively segment small and discrete objects. A new network structure, called MorNet, is proposed. It applies dilation and erosion operations in morphological opening and closing for connected and discrete region segmentation. MorNet effectively integrates global segmentation images, emphasizing small and discrete area segmentation and enhancing the segmentation of large continuous areas. This method enhances the understanding of the location of organs and diseased sites, enabling accurate segmentation. A side-out (SO) monitoring mechanism is introduced into the decoder to provide monitoring information for the original image and the predicted results. Compared with current UNet-like networks, our proposed method achieved the highest Dice scores (96.4635%, 94.0514%, 94.3444%) and PPV scores (94.2226%, 90.2361%, 91.5582%) for liver tumor, brain tumor, and liver segmentation tasks, respectively. The experimental results show that MorNet successfully combines the segmentation of connected and discrete regions. MorNet locates organs and lesions more accurately than current state-of-the-art medical image segmentation models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (STAR-RISs) have recently been employed to enhance the secure transmission due to the ability to manipulate the full-space electromagnetic signals. Prior works mainly investigate the single STAR-RIS aided secure communication system, which does not reveal the potential of the cooperative inter-STAR-RIS link. In this paper, a double STAR-RIS enhanced secure communication network involving multiple legitimate users (LUs) and eavesdroppers (Eves) is proposed. For fairness, the minimum secrecy rate maximization problem is formulated by jointly optimizing the active beamforming and passive transmission and reflection (T&R) beamforming. To deal with the highly non-convex nonlinear optimization problem, an active and passive beamforming optimization algorithm is proposed by employing the alternating optimization method. Wherein, a low-complexity sequential constraint relaxation (SCR) based algorithm is designed to solve the passive T&R beamforming optimization problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the secure performance in the double STAR-RIS assisted system outperforms that in the single RIS/double RIS/single STAR-RIS aided network. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm significantly reduces computational time (i.e., resource allocation time) compared with the traditional SCR based beamforming optimization algorithm. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Photocatalytic acetylene (C2H2) semi-hydrogenation reaction is an environmentally friendly process for ethylene (C2H4) production. However, all attempts to enhance the C2H4 yield have faced kinetic limitations. Electronic metal-support interaction (EMSI) is an effective approach to enhance kinetic constants by regulating the adsorption and desorption capabilities of intermediates and reactive species, promoting the reaction in the forward direction. Herein, Pd/TiO2 catalysts are constructed by a hydrothermal-calculation method, forming the EMSI effect between Pd and TiO2. Spectroscopy characterizations and theoretical calculations demonstrate that EMSI promotes the photo-generated charge carriers from TiO2 to Pd. The control of the local electron density on Pd nanoparticles directly influenced the Gibbs free energy of the H* reaction and the desorption energy of *C2H4. This ultimately enhances the consumption and adsorption kinetics of H*, while simultaneously suppressing H* desorption and facilitating the desorption of *C2H4. Consequently, it modulates the preferential order between H2 evolution and the C2H2 semi-hydrogenation, expediting the production of C2H4. Therefore, the Pd/TiO2 achieves 99.7% C2H2 conversion, 77.3% C2H4 selectivity, and TONC2H4 = 5960 within 3 h. This work provides a reference and guidance for the subsequent construction of efficient photocatalytic C2H2 semi-hydrogenation catalysts. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

The issue of H∞ state estimation for neural networks with time-varying delays is investigated in this study. Firstly, an augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) with two delay-product-type terms is constructed to enhance the consideration of system state, delay, and delay derivative information. Furthermore, for taking into account more effective information, the LKF is augmented with both single and double integral variables. Accordingly, the LKF derivative becomes a higher-order term that exhibits nonlinear characteristics of the time delay. To solve the nonlinear problem, a variable-augmented-based free-weighting-matrices (VAFWMs) approach is employed to transform the nonlinear term into a linear form and provides more freedom in obtaining less-conservative results. Consequently, two improved H∞ state estimation criteria are derived. Lastly, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the merits and effectiveness of the presented methods. Meanwhile, to prove the practical viability of the presented methods, this study extends the methods to a real-world quadruple-tank process system. © 2025 The Franklin Institute

This paper addresses the stability and stabilization issues of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems under sampled-data control. In this paper, efforts are dedicated to developing a stability criterion and control strategy with high accuracy and low complexity, leveraging an improved looped functional and a fuzzy-related matrix injection method. First, an improved looped function containing quadratic information about the sampling sawtooth characteristic is employed to include as much system state information as possible in a simple form. In response to the nonlinear terms encountered in the functional derivatives, a fuzzy-related matrix injection method is proposed on the basis of linearization transformation. This method enables the unified treatment of reciprocally convex and quadratic terms, which is conducive to reducing estimation gaps. Based on the aforementioned techniques, stability and stabilization criteria for T-S fuzzy systems are derived. The efficacy and superiority of the proposed method are substantiated through rigorous theoretical analysis and illustrative instances. © 1993-2012 IEEE.

Geological drilling process, owing to complex geological environment and harsh downhole conditions, generates data including characteristics such as pressure, rotational speed, and depth, which are frequently high-dimensional and noisy. These characteristics make real-time monitoring more complex. Existing methods in the geological drilling process, such as rule-based systems and threshold techniques, struggle to handle the complexity and high dimensionality of drilling data, leading to high false alarm rates and low detection accuracy. This paper develops an integrated temporal dictionary learning with isometric mapping method for monitoring geological drilling process. Specifically, Isometric Mapping is employed to perform dimensionality reduction on high-dimensional data, thereby retaining the structural features in the lower-dimensional space. Subsequently, Lasso regularization is applied for sparse coding to extract essential features from the reduced data. To address the fluctuations arising from the iterative dictionary learning process, a temporal smoothing term is incorporated to ensure the stability of the dictionary across different time steps. After that, the reconstruction errors were adopted to achieve comprehensive statistical indicators. Then the overall monitoring was realized for the plant-wide process. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method are demonstrated through case studies on the Tennessee-Eastman process and the actual geothermal drilling process. © 2025 IEEE.

The rate of penetration (ROP) is a critical indi-cator for evaluating drilling efficiency. Developing an accurate ROP model is essential for optimizing drilling performance and addressing process control challenges. However, ROP modeling in deep geological drilling is complicated by nonlinearity, diverse working conditions, and high-dimensional variations. To overcome these challenges, a fusion modeling approach for ROP is proposed. First, the fuzzy C-means clustering method is applied to classify drilling data into different working con-ditions. Based on this classification, support vector regression is employed to develop ROP sub-models, effectively addressing nonlinearity. To further enhance model accuracy, an improved dung beetle optimization algorithm (IDBO) is designed to deter-mine optimal model parameters and integrate the sub-models, thereby resolving issues related to multiple working conditions and high-dimensional variations. The IDBO incorporates four key enhancements, average weight, chaos disturbance, modified local search, and re-updating of the best solution, to strength-en its global search capability. Comparative results using the IEEE CEC2017 benchmark test functions demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms others in 12 test functions, highlighting its strong global optimization ability. Additionally, results from real-world drilling data validate the effectiveness of the proposed modeling approach in practical applications. © 2025 IEEE.

Load Balancing Routing Algorithm for LEO Satellite Networks Based on Ant Colony Optimization

To address the problem of the unbalanced load and optimize the traffic distribution of large-scale low earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, this paper proposes a load-balancing routing algorithm for LEO satellite networks based on ant colony optimization. The algorithm establishes the global optimal initial path through the improved ant colony algorithm to bypass the network bottleneck, makes local adjustments to cope with burst traffic changes to avoid congestion, and optimizes the "inferior" paths through regular rerouting to improve the overall network performance. The results show that the algorithm performs well in terms of packet loss rate, throughput, and load balancing, which can effectively alleviate the link utilization imbalance problem and provide a more stable and efficient service for the satellite network. Among them, the packet loss rate is reduced by 7.8%, and the load distribution index is improved by 30%. © 2025 The Author(s). Internet Technology Letters published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

This paper focuses on the operation improvement of garbage power plants, which are a key disposal technology for household waste, construction waste, etc. However, the low of the furnace temperature can cause a sharp increase in dioxins and result in consequences of severe environmental pollution. To enhance the control performance of the combustion system for garbage power plants, proportional-integral-derivative based on predictive (PID-predictive) and proportional-integral based on predictive (PI-predictive) controllers are designed for the combustion system, which is dominated by time delay. By equaling the desired dynamic characteristics and the closed-loop system combined with the combustion system and controller, the PID-predictive and PI-predictive can be designed. The comprehensive comparison of the tracking performance, disturbance rejection ability, measurement noise rejection performance and ability to handle system uncertainties is carried out with PI, active disturbance rejection control, delay active disturbance rejection control and Smith predictor active disturbance rejection control. Simulation results show that PID-predictive and PI-predictive obtain similar control performance, and have a faster tracking speed than other comparative controllers. The disturbance rejection ability of PID-predictive and PI-predictive is weaker than delay active disturbance rejection control and Smith predictor active disturbance rejection control, and is stronger than PI and active disturbance rejection control. When the controlled process has system uncertainties, PID-predictive and PI-predictive still obtain satisfactory control performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
