A target group tracking algorithm for wireless sensor networks using azimuthal angle of arrival information

In this paper, we explore the technology of tracking a group of targets with correlated motions in a wireless sensor network. Since a group of targets moves collectively and is restricted within a limited region, it is not worth consuming scarce resources of sensors in computing the trajectory of each single target. Hence, in this paper, the problem is modeled as tracking a geographical continuous region covered by all targets. A tracking algorithm is proposed to estimate the region covered by the target group in each sampling period. Based on the locations of sensors and the azimuthal angle of arrival （AOA） information, the estimated region covering all the group members is obtained. Algorithm analysis provides the fundamental limits to the accuracy of localizing a target group. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the existing hull algorithm due to the reduction in estimation error, which is between 10% and 40% of the hull algorithm, with a similar density of sensors. And when the density of sensors increases, the localization accuracy of the proposed algorithm improves dramatically.

Enhancing Resource Allocation and Performance in Multi-Layer Industrial IoT Through Adjustable Strategy Integrating Cooperative Communication and Edge Computing

Reliable bidirectional communication between the control center (CC) and manufacturing devices (MDs) along with efficient resource allocation are critical for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). However, due to the limited network resources of IIoT devices and the intertwined nature of communication and computation resources, achieving efficient optimization of these resources presents significant challenges. In this paper, we propose a multi-layer communication architecture for the IIoT based on edge computing and cooperative communication technologies, where resource-constrained MDs upload data to edge servers (ESs) for processing. To address the issues of resource scarcity and coupling, we establish a bandwidth release model (BRM) to analyze and quantify the relationship between computation and communication resources. This elucidates the interaction mechanisms between ‘transmission-computation’ performance. Furthermore, to prevent excessive data upload to ESs, which could lead to node overload and network congestion, we employ game theory to develop a pricing mechanism for resource allocation, where ESs charge for computation services. Specifically, we construct a Lagrangian framework to determine a resource allocation scheme, aiming to maximize the utility of the factory. Simulation results indicate that compared to common methods employed in existing works, our strategy enhances factory utility by 29.79%. © 2014 IEEE.

This paper proposes a Risk-Averse Just-In-Time (RAJIT) operation scheme for Ammonia-Hydrogen-based Micro-Grids (AHMGs) to boost electricity-hydrogen-ammonia coupling under uncertainties. First, an off-grid AHMG model is developed, featuring a novel multi-mode ammonia synthesis process and a hydrogen-ammonia dual gas turbine with tunable feed-in ratios. Subsequently, a state-behavior mapping strategy linking hydrogen storage levels with the operation modes of ammonia synthesis is established to prevent cost-ineffective shutdowns. The proposed model substantially improves operational flexibility but results in a challenging nonlinear fractional program. Based upon this model, a data-driven RAJIT scheme is developed for the real-time rolling optimization of AHMGs. Unlike conventional one-size-fits-all schemes using one optimization method throughout, the data-driven RAJIT intelligently switches between cost-effective deterministic optimization and risk-averse online-learning distributionally robust optimization depending on actual risk profiles, thus capitalizing on the respective strengths of these two optimization methods. To facilitate the solution of the resulting nonlinear program, we develop an equivalent-reformulation-based solution methodology by leveraging a constraint-tightening technique. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme guarantees safety and yields an overall cost reduction up to 14.6% compared with several state-of-the-art methods. © 2025 IEEE.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) in millimeter wave is a key enabler for next-generation networks, which leverages large bandwidth and extensive antenna arrays, benefiting both communication and sensing functionalities. The associated high costs can be mitigated by adopting a hybrid beamforming structure. However, the well-studied monostatic ISAC systems face challenges related to full-duplex operation. To address this issue, this paper focuses on a three-dimensional bistatic configuration that requires only half-duplex base stations. To intuitively evaluate the error bound of bistatic sensing using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing waveforms, we propose a positioning scheme that combines angle-of-arrival and time-of-arrival estimation, deriving the closed-form expression of the position error bound (PEB). Using this PEB, we develop two hybrid beamforming algorithms for joint waveform design, aimed at maximizing achievable spectral efficiency (SE) while ensuring a predefined PEB threshold. The first algorithm leverages a Riemannian trust-region approach, achieving superior performance in terms of global optima and convergence speed compared to conventional gradient-based methods, but with higher complexity. In contrast, the second algorithm, which employs orthogonal matching pursuit, offers a more computationally efficient solution, delivering reasonable SE while maintaining the PEB constraint. In the Raymond mill grinding processes,high-accuracy control for the current of Raymond mill is vital to enhance the product quality and production efficiency as well as cut down the consumption of spare ***,strong external disturbances,such as variations of ore hardness and ore size,always *** is not easy to make the current of Raymond mill constant due to these strong *** control strategies have been proposed to control the grinding ***,most of them(such as PID and MPC)reject disturbances merely through feedback regulation and do not deal with the disturbances directly,which may lead to poor control performance when strong disturbances *** improve disturbance rejection performance,a control scheme based on PI and disturbance observer is proposed in this *** scheme combines a feedforward compensation part based on disturbance observer and a feedback regulation part using *** test results illustrate that the proposed method can obtain remarkable superiority in disturbance rejection compared with PI method in the Raymond mill grinding processes.

Self-triggered Consensus control for Linear Multi-agent systems With Input Saturation

In this paper, we study the consensus problem for a class of linear multi-agent systems(MASs) with consideration of input saturation under the self-triggered mechanism. In the context of discrete-time systems, a self-triggered strategy is developed to determine the time interval between the adjacent triggers. The triggering condition is designed by using the current sampled consensus error. Furthermore, the consensus control protocol is designed by means of a state feedback approach. It is shown that the considered multi-agent systems can reach consensus with the presented algorithm. Some sufficient conditions are proposed in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) to show the positively invariant property of the domain of attraction(DOA). Moreover, some sufficient conditions of controller synthesis are provided to enlarge the volume of the DOA and obtain the control gain matrix. A numerical example is simulated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis results.

Unleashing Correlation and Continuity for Hyperspectral Reconstruction from RGB Images

Reconstructing Hyperspectral Images (HSI) from RGB images can yield high spatial resolution HSI at a lower cost, demonstrating significant application potential. This paper reveals that local correlation and global continuity of the spectral characteristics are crucial for HSI reconstruction tasks. Therefore, we fully explore these inter-spectral relationships and propose a Correlation and Continuity Network (CCNet) for HSI reconstruction from RGB images. For the correlation of local spectrum, we introduce the Group-wise Spectral Correlation Modeling (GrSCM) module, which efficiently establishes spectral band similarity within a localized range. For the continuity of global spectrum, we design the Neighborhood-wise Spectral Continuity Modeling (NeSCM) module, which employs memory units to recursively model the progressive variation characteristics at the global level. In order to explore the inherent complementarity of these two modules, we design the Patch-wise Adaptive Fusion (PAF) module to efficiently integrate global continuity features into the spectral features in a patch-wise adaptive manner. These innovations enhance the quality of reconstructed HSI. We perform comprehensive comparison and ablation experiments on the mainstream datasets NTIRE2022 and NTIRE2020 for the spectral reconstruction task. Compared to the current advanced spectral reconstruction algorithms, our designed algorithm achieves State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) performance. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

We propose and numerically investigate a new step-ridge-waveguide InGaAlAs/InP multi-quantum well (MQW) transistor laser (TL). The carrier nonradiative recombination centers caused by the exposed deep-ridge waveguide sidewall significantly degrade the optoelectronic performance of the TLs. The step-ridge-waveguide structure guides carriers through the center portion of the ridge waveguide, thereby effectively mitigating the effect of the nonradiative recombination defects. Simulation results show that the optoelectronic characteristics of the step-ridge TL are far better than those of the conventional deep-ridge TL, and the current amplification factor of the step-ridge TL is not affected by the laser excitation. This structure provides a new option for the simultaneous enhancement of the optoelectronic performance of TLs. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

Data-Driven Distributionally Robust Mixed-Integer control through Lifted control Policy

This paper investigates the finite-horizon distributionally robust mixed-integer control (DRMIC) of uncertain linear systems. However, deriving an optimal causal feedback control policy to this DRMIC problem is computationally formidable for most ambiguity sets. To address the computational challenge, we propose a novel distributionally robust lifted control policy (DR-LCP) method to derive a high-quality approximate solution to this DRMIC problem for a rich class of Wasserstein metric-based ambiguity sets, including the Wasserstein ambiguity set and its variants. In theory, we analyze the asymptotic performance and establish a tight non-asymptotic bound of the proposed method. In numerical experiments, the proposed DR-LCP method empirically demonstrates superior performance compared with existing methods in the literature. © 2025, CC BY.

Emotion recognition in conversation (ERC) aims at accurately identifying emotional states expressed in conversational content. Existing ERC methods, although relying on semantic understanding, often encounter challenges when confronted with incomplete or misleading semantic information. In addition, when dealing with the interaction between emotional and semantic information, existing methods are often difficult to effectively distinguish the complex relationship between the two, which affects the accuracy of emotion recognition. To address the problems of semantic misdirection and emotional cross-talk encountered by traditional models when confronted with complex conversational data, we propose a semantic and emotional dual channel (SEDC) strategy for emotion recognition in conversations to process emotional and semantic information independently. Under this strategy, emotion information provides an auxiliary recognition function when the semantics are unclear or lacking, enhancing the accuracy of the model. Our model consists of two modules: the emotion processing module accurately captures the emotional features of each utterance through contrastive learning, and then constructs a dialogue emotion propagation map to simulate the emotional information conveyed in the dialogue;the semantic processing module combines an external knowledge base to enhance the semantic expression of the dialogue through knowledge enhancement strategies. This divide-and-conquer approach allows us to more deeply analyze the emotional and semantic dimensions of complex dialogues. Experimental results on the IEMOCAP, EmoryNLP, MELD, and DailyDialog datasets show that our approach significantly outperforms existing techniques and effectively improves the accuracy of dialogue emotion recognition.
