This paper deals with global synchronization in arrays of coupled Lur'e systems with nonlinear delayed coupling. Together with Krasovskii-Lyapunov functional and Kronecker product technique, two novel synchronization criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) based on convex combination, in which the conditions are heavily dependent on the bounds of time delay and its derivative. Through employing LMI in Matlab Toolbox and adjusting some matrix parameters in the derived results, we can realize the designing and applications of the coupled systems. The effectiveness of the proposed methods can be demonstrated by one numerical example with simulations.

Service robot is one of the most promising industries in the future. Modular framework for designing and implementing a distributed service robot system including robot and intelligent environment is proposed. Components as sensors and actuators of a robotic system are standardized in both hardware and software design, resulting in an abstraction of digital smart devices with certain functions. A unified software platform with a core of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) middleware is established for the system. It employs the Player toolkit to access smart devices via drivers and interfaces, and the Web Service technology is introduced for automatic collaboration of smart services according to their functions. An implementation of a home-care service robotic system is described with 2D/3D realistic simulation. Experimental results validate the flexibility and open performance of the proposed demo system.

Chaotic synchronization criteria for a class of dynamical networks with each node being RCL-shunted Josephson junction is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithms, which are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), guarantee the synchronized states to be global asymptotically stable. In addition, an interesting conclusion is reached that the chaotic synchronization in the coupled whole 3N-dimensional networks can be converted into that of 3-dimensional space.

A new self-shunt excitation control method has been brought in this paper, which is about how to use DC chopper that is composed with full controlled switch device IGBT to regulate exciting voltage. This new method replaces traditional method which is adopted controlled rectifier by thyristor. Exciting voltage refers from terminal voltage by exciting transformer, and then it goes through uncontrollable rectifier circuit and switches to DC voltage. This DC voltage is used for DC chopper. We can control duty cycle of IGBT to change output voltage and hold terminal voltage steady. In this paper, the conclusion of DC chopper output current proportioned with duty cycle is proved by simulation in PSCAD. And it also proves that it can maintain terminal voltage stability in steady state operation by the control of trigger angle of IGBT.

Transient stability of a MicroGrid in which the micro sources using the peer-to-peer and master-slave control was investigated. The P-f and Q-V droop control was used for micro sources 1 and 2. And the PQ control was used for micro source 3. The impacts of motor load on the transient stability of the MicroGrid were shown when the motor load starts, load power changes and a three-phase faults happens. And the power sharing between each micro sources and the main frequency supporting are achieved. Simulation results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

DSR (dynamic security region) is one of the direct methods focusing on the transient stability of power system. This paper focuses on the DSRs of power system with different load models, and explores the characteristic of the DSRs of the power system with constant impedance load and motor load. It deduces the algorithm for DSR of power system described with differential algebraic equation, after introducing the theory of DSR for power system with network-reduction model. And then, it presents the mathematical models for the constant impedance load and motor load. Based on the simulation results, it presents the DSRs for the power system with respect to constant impedance load and motor load, respectively. And furthermore, it compares the characteristic of the DSRs of power system with different loads, and summarizes the impact of different loads characteristic on the DSR.

In order to eliminate steady-state errors and chatter caused by quantization error of the conventional fuzzy controller, based on the self-adjustment of quantified proportionality factors fuzzy controller, this paper establishes the flexible fuzzy controller, and can achieve the online parameters self-adjusting function. This method is used in inflation process of pneumatic membrane structure, which enables the inflation process to produce the smooth change in flexible frequency conversion. The results show that the flexible fuzzy logic controller has fast response speed and small steady-state error, meanwhile the parameters change of the controlled object has some flexible adaptability.

Echo State Network is one pioneering recurrent neural network with the core structure of a randomly generated and unchangeable reservoir. This paper provides a Condition prediction model of flue gas turbine by applying Echo State Network and makes prediction of the overall vibration value. Compared to Elman neural network prediction model, examples show that Echo State Network has wonderful dynamic characteristics with smaller error and less prediction time. The model has a good performance in non-linear time series prediction, indicating that the model is feasible in the condition prediction of flue gas turbine.

In this paper, an effective technique for leak diagnosis and localization which couples the local entropy difference method (LEDM) to the fast marching method (FMM) is proposed. A computer-based system is described to combine a specific pneumatic circuit with an on-line infrared camera which is used to test the air-tightness of a test vessel. The test object is charged with cryogenic compressed air and its temperature field is acquired by infrared thermography in this system. Then, both the leakage point and its edge can be identified by means of the designed LED-FM method. An experiment is conducted that confirms that the leak diagnosis and localization method presented in this paper is effective in diagnosing leakage points and in extracting accurate leakage edges, in spite of the presence of surface defects.
