Load modeling is very important for power system dynamic analysis and control. The composite load model widely applied recently in the power system operation centre consists of the static load and the equivalent motor. Current practices in measurement-based load modeling identify all the parameters in this composite load model. However, it is not clear whether all these parameters could be identified from the measurements. This paper investigates the identifiability of the equivalent motor parameters in the composite load model. Trajectory sensitivity approach is applied first to find the motor parameters that have great effects on the measured active as well as reactive load dynamics. The analysis results show that the motor outputs have various sensitivities with respect to the parameters. Since the voltage disturbance, the active load and the reactive load dynamics are applied to identify the motor parameters, those parameters affecting the measurements to a great extent are observable, thus identifiable from the measurements; while those that have little effects on the motor outputs are unobservable from the measurements and consequently unidentifiable. The case studies verify the identifiability of the motor parameters.

In the high speed range, vector control of rotor flux orientation of an induction machine implements good perfornance. However, the perfornance in low speed rang deteriorates because of the inaccurate estimation of rotor flux and speed. In this paper, modified voltage model for rotor flux estimation and neuron model-reference adaptive system (MARS) for speed estimation are used to improve the perfornance of speed sensorless vector control. To improve the accuracy of rotor flux estimation, the stator resistance is identified on-line. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme yields improved perfornance in low speed range.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) on secondary de cable in cable tunnel due to a direct lightning strike in substation threatens the safe operation of electronic equipment and system connected to the cable. In order to reduce EMI, the cable shield is generally connected to the grounding grid at both ends. Ground potential difference between two grounding points of the cable shield can be high due to high impedance of the grounding grid at high frequencies. In this paper, we present a hybrid method to analyze this complexsystem. As a result, both the current flowing in the cable shield and the transverse voltage between the cable core and shield are calculated. Compared with the measured results, the proposed method is demonstrated to be correct and effective.

Distribution network planning is a multi-goal and multi-restricted problem that involves the geographical condition of power line route, constructing and maintenance expenses, power line losses, power flow and security constraint. Computer aided planning is an important studying direction now. However, automatic line routing can not be made now. A model is advanced in this paper to minimize the work of planner and to simplify the network planning procedure. In this paper, an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to escape the locally point by adopting the probability distribution feature and controlling the flying speed automatically. By using this method in Jinan power network, found that the speed of network-planning can be improved by adopting the improved PSO and geographical feature pretreatment.

A detailed user-defined (UD) reactive power control (RPC) model of HVDC has been developed in Power system Analysis Software Package (PSASP). The UD RPC model, as one part of UD HVDC models which have been set up based on the controlsystem of Three Gorges-Changzhou project, includes reactive power generation calculation, reactive power consumption calculation, reactive power control strategies and converter reactive power regulator strategies. Each part of the UD RPC model and its guidelines are presented in this paper. Case studies are carried out on the WEPRI-7 system whose embedded HVDC models are replaced by the UD HVDC models. The simulation results show the correctness and necessity of the UD RPC model for AC/DC hybrid system interaction and stability analysis.

It is a trend to construct unattended substation in power system *** paper systematically analyses the superiority and limitation of MATLAB and Visual C++ and illustrates how to compile m-files to cpp-files by MATLAB engines and integrate cpp-files code into existing C++ projects by Visual C++ to realize intelligent function on image recognition used for unattended *** intelligent function can effectively test illegal intrusion and fires through the detection and recognition of moving goals by three-image difference method and self-adapting threshold value segmentation algorithm and detect situations of disconnection link by use of image crop and image index processing and give warnings to alarm system. Because of lacking of brightness of image or nonlinear brightness and being influenced by kinds of noise,this paper determines to adopt contrast enhanced algorithm and high-frequency enhanced algorithm to repair grey-scale distribution and uses median filtering to remove noise of image. In the end,this paper brings forward the expectation about the image recognition of the unattended substation. When non-uniform of image illumination distribution, grey-scale of background changes largely and image segmentation has not the fittest threshold, so the paper uses self-adapting threshold segmentation algorithm to gain the image segmentation.
