This paper presents an improved stability criterion and controller design scheme condition for a networked control system under denial of service (DoS) attack. Firstly, the DoS attack interval is divided into attack interval and no attack interval, therefore, a switching-like event-triggered control can be established to reduce the waste of network resources and improve network efficiency. Then, the studied system is transformed into a time-delay system, and an improved stability criterion and controller design method are established by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF). Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a simulation example. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

This paper uses the wave equation to explain the torsional motion of the drill-string system. Solving the wave equation with the D'Alembert method, a neutral time-delay model of the drill-string system is obtained. The disturbance input, caused by the bit-rock interaction, is given consideration, and an equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) based controller is designed to mitigate the disturbance in the established model. In the actual drilling procedure, the system input time-delay increases as the length of the drill columns increases. If the influence of system input time-delay in the drilling procedure is ignored, it will most likely lead to the drill-string system instability and cause serious consequences. The essential contribution of this paper is the incorporation of input time-delay into the EID based control structure. Considering the system's input time-delay, the proposed model is more practical and has significant implications for stick-slip vibration assessment and control in drilling procedures. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In the Off-Axis Integrated Cavity Output Spectroscopy (OA-ICOS) technique, single-stage filters are commonly used to reduce noise and improve the signal-to-noise ratio, enabling more precise CO2 concentration detection. However, these filters often underperform under real-time conditions. To enhance real-time performance, this paper proposes a novel framework based on Double Wavelet Threshold Filter (DWTF) that adaptively suppresses noise while preserving key features of CO2 concentration signal. Firstly, one wavelet threshold filter (WT) is introduced to calculate the mean of the current sequence, providing an initial denoising step. Secondly, another WT is employed to extract features from a longer sequence for adaptive computation of the discount factor. Finally, an exponential moving average filter (EMA) is applied to combine both current and historical data to produce a smoother aggregated output. To validate the effectiveness, DWTF was compared with other conventional algorithms for a CO2 dataset with three distinct states: smooth, ship and mutant, obtained by OA-ICOS. The experimental results demonstrate that DWTF performs effectively in all three states.

sEMG (surface electromyography) signal control of bionic prostheses has been widely studied over the past few years. In particular, sparse sEMG signals are rapidly developing in the field of gesture recognition for their convenience, noninvasiveness, and ease of access. However, compared with high-density EMG signals, sparse EMG signals lack rich feature information, which in turn affects gesture recognition accuracy. In order to reduce the loss of feature information of sparse EMG signals in the spatio-temporal dimension, this paper proposes a hybrid neural network Res-LSTM combining residual network and long short-term memory network. The ordinary convolutional blocks in the CNN network are replaced with residual blocks, and the final fully connected layer is removed and a constant mapping layer is added to adequate extraction of spatial feature information of the data. The Res layer’s output is utilized as the input for the long and short-term memory (LSTM) network, which further extracts the features of the data in the temporal dimension, and finally completes the categorization output through a fully connected layer. The average accuracy of 91.11% for gesture-motion classification was verified by training on a homebrew dataset;and tested on a public dataset, NinaPro DB1, with an average accuracy of 91.03%. The experimental findings indicate that the proposed Res-LSTM network framework contributes to solving the problem of lack of feature information of sparse sEMG signals and improves the pattern recognition accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This paper explores the finite-time synchronization of a class of discrete-time nonlinear singularly perturbed complex networks using a dynamic event-triggered mechanism (DETM). The DETM is designed to optimize packet transmission, aiming to conserve network resources. By constructing a Lyapunov function considering singularly perturbed parameters (SPPs) and DETM information, a sufficient condition for the dynamics of synchronization error system to be finite-time stable is given. The parameters of the synchronization controller can be determined by solving a set of matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated through a numerical example. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In this article, we pay attention to event-based model predictive control (MPC) for load frequency control of multi-area power system. Considering the practical issues, the inputs are subject to hard constraints. A novel dynamic event-triggered mechanism (DETM) which contains an additive internal dynamic variable and an adjusting variable is designed to reduce data transmission burden. The MPC problem is expressed as a 'min-max' optimisation problem. By considering the effects of load disturbances and the DETM, we give the design approach for the controller which integrates H2 and H8 performance indexes through an auxiliary optimization problem. A simulation example is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

This paper investigates the delay-dependent stability of time-delayed load frequency control (LFC) systems with multiple energy structures based on Lyapunov theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technology. Firstly, a multi-area delayed LFC model considering multiple renewable energy structures is established. Then, in order to improve the computation efficiency of stability analysis of large scale LFC systems, a new reconstruction technique for system model is proposed. Next, the improved delay-dependent stability criteria are established based on reconstructed model by using the Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, case studies are based on two-area LFC systems. Comparing with the criterion based on the original model without reconstruction, the calculation efficiency of proposed stability criteria has been greatly improved with the cost of small accuracy, and the calculation accuracy is better than the previous methods. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

As a highly developed region, Guangdong province has substantial industrial emissions. Its subtropical monsoon climate, characterized by abundant hydrothermal conditions, contributes to a substantial biomass potential. The adoption of potential biomass-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technologies, such as biochar, presents an opportunity to mitigate emissions and work towards carbon neutrality in the future. However, the current state of the land carbon balance and the CDR potential of biochar in Guangdong province remains unclear. We first calculated the land carbon balance based on inventory data. Then we estimated the CDR potential of biochar derived from agricultural residues, forestry residues, and bioenergy crops cultivated on marginal lands in Guangdong province using life cycle analysis (LCA). Results show that Guangdong province has not yet achieved carbon neutrality, with a net emission (carbon emissions remaining after offsetting by carbon sinks) of 925.63 Tg CO2e (CO2 equivalent, 1Tg = 106 t) in 2021. Emissions from energy consumption account for the highest proportion, contributing 83.8% of total emissions. In the highest biomass utilization scenario, the maximum CDR potential of biochar derived from all biomass types reaches 84.30 Tg CO2e yr-1, which could offset 9.11% of net carbon emissions in Guangdong province. Our findings provide crucial guidance for setting emission reduction targets and implementing effective mitigation strategies in Guangdong province under temperature warming.
