Calibration of a functional structural plant model is a challenging task because of the complexity of model structure. Parameter estimation through gradient-based optimization technique was highly dependent on initial parameter values. This motivated the use of global sensitivity analysis technique to choose parameter subset in fitting the data sequence. Global sensitivity indices were computed using the source sink ratio as the output of interest, which regulates all organ growth. By fitting on chrysanthemum data from nine sampling dates, it is shown that sensitivity analysts method helps to identify the influential parameters for a given sampling date. As a result, fitting process is less dependent on the initial parameter values. Current work provides a new method of calibrating a plant growth model with multiple outputs.

This paper presents a novel parallel system for Rail Transit based on ACP approach (Artificial systems, Computational experiments, Parallel execution), which is proposed to address issues on safety, efficiency and reliability of their operation and optimization. Firstly, the construction of dynamic, overall and real Artificial Rail Transit systems and their demonstration are provided. Then, based on these systems, the platform, content and analysis of computational experiments and comprehensive evaluation system are researched. Finally, parallel control and management of the actual systems via parallel execution can be achieved. By Parallel Rail Transit systems, a set of recommendations and strategies of railway can be formed, which would improve the overall functionality of the trail transit system.

This paper deals with global synchronization in arrays of coupled delayed Lur’e systems with nonlinear couplings, in which the interval variable delay is treated. Together with Krasovskii-Lyapunov functional method and Kronecker product technique, two novel synchronization criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) based on generalized convex combination, in which the conditions are heavily dependent on upper and lower bounds of time-delay and delay derivative. Through employing LMI in Matlab Toolbox and adjusting some matrix parameters in the derived results, we can realize the designing and applications of the coupled systems. The effectiveness of the proposed methods can be demonstrated by one numerical example with simulations.

The idea of M2M platform proposes a completely new system architecture for positioning and monitoring applications with wider coverage and higher communication efficiency. With the comparison of the original communication mode to the M2M- based one, the communication interface is changed in the new communication solution for the application side accessing to the platform, which is finally designed into two parts according to the interface specification for M2M platform. The one is the local web service which provides methods for the platform to transmit data from the terminal side, and the other is the communication service software developed based on the SDK package from the M2M platform. This interface has been implemented into an actual application for the construction machinery monitoring, and the communication work between the terminals and the control center through M2M platform performs efficiently and reliably.

To design an energy efficient data collection scheme instead of multi-hop data relay is essential for Wireless Sensor Networks. To many proposed data gathering approaches, the long data delay is the main problem. In this paper, mobile collectors are introduced in a sensor network and a data collection mechanism is proposed. To organize sensors into three-level clusters, an energy efficient clustering algorithm is proposed. The collection strategy is based on the hierarchical structure and consists of two rules to schedule mobile collectors reasonably. Simulation results demonstrate that the data collection scheme effectively reduces the energy consumption and decrease the data delay.
