Rainfall impacts daily activities and can lead to severe hazards such as flooding. Traditional rainfall measurement systems often lack granularity or require extensive infrastructure. While the attenuation of electromagnetic waves due to rainfall is well-documented for frequencies above 10 GHz, sub-6 GHz bands are typically assumed to experience negligible effects. However, recent studies suggest measurable attenuation even at these lower frequencies. This study presents the first channel state information (CSI)-based measurement and analysis of rainfall attenuation at 2.8 GHz. The results confirm the presence of rain-induced attenuation at this frequency, although classification remains challenging. The attenuation follows a power-law decay model, with the rate of attenuation decreasing as rainfall intensity increases. Additionally, rainfall onset significantly increases the delay spread. Building on these insights, we propose RainGaugeNet, the first CSI-based rainfall classification model that leverages multipath and temporal features. Using only 20 seconds of CSI data, RainGaugeNet achieved over 90% classification accuracy in line-of-sight scenarios and over 85% in non-line-of-sight scenarios, significantly outperforming state-of-the-art methods. We study a quasiperiodic Su-Schrieffer-Heeger lattice with staggered on-site gain-loss. The results reveal that on-site staggered gain-loss can effectively induce non-Hermitian topological gap without introducing imaginary phase. Further analysis exhibits that five different processes of topological phase transitions, including topological re-entrant phenomena, with the gain-loss intensity increasing. In addition, through the analysis of inverse participation ratios, normalized participation ratios, winding number and other indicators, we find that topological phase transitions occur synchronically with localized phase transitions. Finally, by investigating the properties of dual space eigenfunction, we reveal that the non-Hermitian topological point gaps predicted in this paper are chiral point gaps, which have a pair of skin modes along opposite directions simultaneously. A Unified NOMA Framework in Beam-Hopping Satellite Communication systems

This paper investigates the application of a unified non-orthogonal multiple access framework in beam hopping (U-NOMA-BH) based satellite communication systems. More specifically, the proposed U-NOMA-BH framework can be applied to code-domain NOMA based BH (CD-NOMA-BH) and power-domain NOMA based BH (PD-NOMA-BH) systems. To satisfy dynamic-uneven traffic demands, we formulate the optimization problem to minimize the square of discrete difference by jointly optimizing power allocation, carrier assignment and beam scheduling. The non-convexity of the objective function and the constraint condition is solved through Dinkelbach’s transform and variable relaxation. As a further development, the closed-from and asymptotic expressions of outage probability are derived for CD/PD-NOMA-BH systems. Based on approximated results, the diversity orders of a pair of users are obtained in detail. In addition, the system throughput of U-NOMA-BH is discussed in delay-limited transmission mode. Numerical results verify that: i) The gap between traffic requests of CD/PD-NOMA-BH systems appears to be more closely compared with orthogonal multiple access based BH (OMA-BH);ii) The CD-NOMA-BH system is capable of providing the enhanced traffic request and capacity provision;and iii) The outage behaviors of CD/PD-NOMA-BH are better than that of OMA-BH. The performance of attitude stabilization control algorithms for rigid spacecraft can be limited by disturbances. In this paper, the global finite-time attitude stabilization problem with disturbances is investigated and handled by constructing a second-order sliding mode controller. Firstly, a virtual controller based on set stabilization idea is constructed to globally finite-time stabilize the system. Then, a relay polynomial second-order sliding mode controller is constructed to guarantee that the tracking error towards the virtual controller will converge to zero in finite-time. Finite-time Lyapunov theory is applied to support the proof and stability analysis. The global finite-time stability holds even with bounded disturbances. The effectiveness and feasibility of the controller are illustrated by the numerical simulations. © 2021, CC BY.

Rail positioning is an essential task for railway track defect detection. The turnout is one of the main components of railway tracks. In order to realize the positioning of rails in turnout sections and non-turnout sections, this paper proposes a robust rail positioning method based on double sliding windows. Firstly, extract lines from the preprocessed image. Secondly,lines are discretized into points, and then all points are projected to the x-axis of the image. Finally, a double sliding window method is used to search for the rail area. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively identify the rail’s location in the turnout area, and the detection accuracy can reach 99%. What’s more, it has strong adaptability to complex detection environments such as curved rail or broken rail.

In order to enhance the stable operation of the multi-energy complementary microgrid for wind, solar, and diesel storage, reduce operating costs, and solve the problems of large randomness, low accuracy, and slow convergence of traditional microgrid optimization multi-objective decision-making, a differential evolution based on the entropy weight method to determine the weight is proposed. Firstly, we establish a microgrid integrated energy model from the perspectives of system operation stability, economy and environmental protection;combined with the Pareto optimal solution set, multi-objectives are weighted according to the entropy weight method, and the multi-objective optimization problem is transformed into single-objective optimization The problem is to avoid artificial setting of weight factors;the calculation example shows that this method is more economical and reasonable in optimization results, and provides an economic, reliable and environmentally friendly microgrid configuration strategy for users to increase power capacity. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

To solve the problem that early fault features of rotating machinery are difficult to extract,an adaptive k-value hierarchical variational mode decomposition(H-VMD) combined with optimized maximum second-order cyclostationarity blind deconvolution(CYCBD) fault feature extraction method is proposed in this *** decomposition of the vibration signal is performed with *** then the noise dominant component is denoised by wavelet threshold denoising(WTD).Furthermore,the improved autocorrelation-weighted correlated kurtosis(ACK)when CYCBD enhances the periodic shock component of the denoised signal is the fitness function of ChOA,and the envelope demodulation analysis of the feature-enhanced signal is performed using the teager energy operator(TEO).Simulation analysis and experimental results show that the interference of background noise can be effectively removed and the periodic shock component of the vibration signal be enhanced by the proposed method,which is a new feature extraction method for the fault diagnosis of rotating machinery.

Low earth orbit satellite communication systems are attractive for provisioning global, high-speed and low latency Internet access services. In order to achieve global continuous multiple coverage, the number of satellites is tremendous. But Low earth orbit satellite networks are prone to instability due to unpredictable link failures and frequent topology changes. Therefore, in this paper, a novel routing schemes with quick response to link failures is first proposed. Based on Dijkstra algorithm, a scalable routing algorithm is proposed to minimize the end-to-end transmission delay. It takes advantage of the predictable constellation trajectory, and changes dynamically according to the changes of network topology. It provides the shortest routing path and an alternative path simultaneously. When a link failure is detected by one satellite, notification packets will be sent to its neighbors for adjustment to the alternative routing path. Notification packets also will be sent to the head node for the recalculation of routing table. Finally, extensive simulations have been conducted, and the results show that the proposed scheme is able to produce desired performance.

Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (DTP-PMSM) has attracted great attention due to its high reliability and high-power output capacities. However, the conventional single-voltage-vector-based predictive current control (SV-PCC) for DTP-PMSM presents high torque ripple and current harmonics, and high computational burden. To solve those issues, a modulated-virtual-vector-based PCC (MVV-PCC) for DTP-PMSM is proposed in this paper. Wherein, twenty-four VVs are synthesized by the inherent voltage vectors, and two VVs and one zero voltage vector with optimal duty cycles are determined and applied in each sampling period to improve the steady-state performance. The selection of optimal VVs and the calculation of the optimal duty cycles are simplified by integrating the deadbeat control and modulation scheme. Various comparisons are carried out to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed MVV-PCC strategy.

Few-data guided learning upon end-to-end point cloud network for 3D face recognition

3D face recognition has shown its potential in many application scenarios. Among numerous 3D face recognition methods, deep-learning-based methods have developed vigorously in recent years. In this paper, an end-to-end deep learning network entitled Sur3dNet-Face for point-cloud-based 3D face recognition is proposed. The network uses PointNet as the backbone, which is a successful point cloud classification solution but does not work properly in face recognition. Supplemented with modifications in network architecture and a few-data guided learning framework based on Gaussian process morphable model, the backbone is successfully modified for 3D face recognition. Different from existing methods training with a large amount of data in multiple datasets, our method uses Spring2003 subset of FRGC v2.0 for training which contains only 943 facial scans, and the network is well trained with the guidance of such a small amount of real data. Without fine-tuning on the test set, the Rank-1 Recognition Rate (RR1) is achieved as follows: 98.85% on FRGC v2.0 dataset and 99.33% on Bosphorus dataset, which proves the effectiveness and the potentiality of our method.
