It is a positive trend for hemiplegia with wearable robots in rehabilitation training. Recently, wearable Supernumerary Robotic Limb (SRL) is rising to a hot spot. The difficulty in modeling SRL for hemiplegia is how to make the SRL mechanism match the human upper and lower limbs' size and function simultaneously. In this paper, a simplified model of a four Degree of Freedoms (DOFs) universal SRL (USRL) is introduced. Based on workspace similarity, which is evaluated by Jaccard Index (JI), we establish a multi-object optimization (MOO) model. By applying the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, we have found the optimal SRL mechanism parameters that meet the requirement of the human upper limb and the cane simultaneously. Meanwhile, a few impact factors are discussed briefly in the present proposal. The simulation results show that the USRL has a sound match with the human and could assist the hemiplegia subject as a supplemental limb. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper mainly solves the containment control issue for a network of infinite-dimensional agents described by wave equations. To eliminate influences caused by external disturbances, observers based on partial differential equations are proposed. A novel interaction protocol is then designed to reach containment control under a fixed directed communication topology. Different from the existing works, disturbances with unbounded derivatives are allowed in this paper. A proper Lyapunov function is constructed and the sufficient condition assuring containment control is obtained. Finally, the theoretical results are verified via numerical examples. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

WE43 is a high-strength magnesium alloy containing rare-earth elements such as Y,Gd and ***,how to further obtain the balance of strength and ductility,as well as the manufacture of complex structures is still a dilemma for its engineering *** this study,WE43 alloy samples withﬁne microstructures,high densiﬁcation and excellent mechanical properties were successfully prepared by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)additive *** optimal process window was established,and the formation mechanisms of three types of porosity defects were revealed,namely lack-of-fusion pores,meltﬂuctuation-induced pores,and keyhole-induced *** the combined process of laser power of 200 W and scanning speed of 600 mm/s,samples with a high density of 99.89%were ***,periodic heterogeneous microstructure was prepared along the build direction,i.e.,ﬁne grains(∼4.1μm)at melt pool boundaries and coarse grain(∼23.6μm)inside melt *** was mainly due to the preferential precipitation of Zr and Mg_(3)(Gd,Nd)nano-precipitates at the melt pool boundaries providing nucleation sites for the *** special feature could provide an extra hetero-deformation induced(HDI)strengthening and retard *** optimal tensile yield strength,ultimate tensile strength and elongation at break were 276±1 MPa,292±1 MPa and 6.1±0.2%,*** obtained tensile properties were superior to those of other magnesium alloys and those fabricated by other *** solid solution strengthening(∼24.5%),grain boundary strengthening(∼14.4%)and HDI strengthening(∼32.2%)were the main sources of high yield *** work provides a guidance on studying the pore defect suppression and strengthening mechanisms of WE43 alloy and other magnesium alloys produced by LPBF.

The joint design of control and transmission has been demonstrated to be a successful technique for enhancing the performance of industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS). In the majority of existing works, the control cost and the transmission cost are defined independently, followed by a weighted total calculation. This approach suffers from a dimension consistency issue, leading the results to diverge from the system's actual optimal performance. Hence, it is necessary to consider the overall information of the loop and characterize the coupling relationship between control and transmission to construct the overall system performance function. This paper proposes a full loop age of information (FL-AoI) based control and transmission joint design architecture for multi-subsystem ICPS integrating multi-hop network. The state delay, input delay, and event trigger are all taken into consideration by FL-AoI to more fully portray the freshness of the information. We provide a novel control performance based on FL-AoI where the network characteristics are incorporated into the control cost, which could tackle the dimensionality mismatch brought by the form of weighted summation of the control and transmission cost. We also provide the FL-AoI-based strategy for the controller and event-triggering mechanism and derive the cost's boundary. The evaluation results demonstrate that, in comparison to the conventional joint design strategy, our solution increases the stability of the control system while decreasing the network burden. © 2023 IEEE.

A Novel Dynamic Peer-to-Peer Carbon Right Sharing Scheme for Microgrid Clusters

In this paper, a novel four-level distributed game decision-making framework of dynamic peer-to-peer (P2P) carbon emission right (CER) sharing is proposed for microgrid clusters (MGCs), which consists of four phases: exploration, selection, equilibrium and correction. Firstly, in the exploration stage, the tradable information is published by microgrids (MGs) and an initial set of tradable options is constructed. Secondly, in the selection stage, bilateral transaction coefficients are calculated according to the deficit and surplus of CERs in the P2P carbon market, and then an optimal sharing matching scheme of CERs is designed to reduce invalid transactions. Thirdly, in the equilibrium stage, a P2P carbon right sharing strategy based on the Stackelberg game is proposed to realize the dynamic change in carbon prices and the flexible conversion of master-slave roles in P2P carbon trading, which can promote the popularity of carbon market. Fourthly, in the correction stage, a carbon emission right balancer (CERB) is developed to avoid the imbalance of CERs, and then a billing scheme including incentives and penalties is established to achieve the benefit redistribution after P2P carbon trading. In the end, numerical results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed multi-layer game decision-making framework for P2P carbon right sharing among MGs. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

The research of fuel cell and lithium battery hybrid system has attracted more and more researchers because of its advantages of low emission. However, the lower efficiency of energy management has been a critical factor that obstruct the commercialization of hybrid system. In this work, based on finite element ideas, a solid oxide full cell node model is developed to accurately estimate the operating status of the fuel cell. As for lithium battery, previous energy management studies generally only focused on state of charge, however, state of health is also a key parameter for lithium battery. In this paper, considering the strong coupling between variables we use particle filter algorithm to jointly estimate the state of charge and state of health. To reasonably distribute and manage the energy in the hybrid system, a T-S fuzzy controller for the hybrid system is designed by controlling the state variables in the SOFC model and the state of lithium battery. Finally, our algorithm is verified by DSPACE simulation platform. The result shows that the hybrid system with the energy management strategy not only meets the real-time sharply changing demand but also ensures the hybrid system working efficiently and safely. © 2022 China Electric Power Research Institute. The blind spots of heavy vehicles during right turns arise a safety concern for traffic. Hence, the regulation mandating heavy vehicles to come to a complete stop before making right turns is crucial in ensuring intersection safety. However, the current trajectory planning methods struggle to integrate these traffic regulations, and the restrictions imposed by such traffic rules greatly impact traffic efficiency at intersections. This paper proposes a signal temporal logic (STL) based trajectory planning method for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) at a signal-free intersection, where traffic rules for heavy vehicles are conveniently described by STL formulas. All CAVs at the intersection are modeled without predefined paths to enhance the flexibility of trajectories. Each STL formula is encoded in a standardized way as a conjunction of inequality and equality constraints for the optimization, and the whole trajectory planning of CAVs is achieved through solving a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem. Simulation results indicate that our method improves traffic efficiency in the scenario with heavy vehicles right turns. © 2024 IEEE.

A terahertz refractive index sensor constructed with graphene metamaterial absorber has been proposed. The sensor features a patterned graphene structure, consisting of an independent circular ring and a special structure formed by intersecting cross and square patterns. Under normal incidence of TM and TE polarized light, the sensor exhibits a low-frequency peak at 1.55 THz with maximum absorption rates of 9 9. 4 5% and a high-frequency peak at 3.83 THz with maximum absorption rates of 9 9. 5 0%. The quality factors (Q factor) of the two peaks are 31 and 65, respectively. Unlike traditional metal sensors, the absorption peaks of this sensor can achieve dynamic tunability through adjusting the graphene's Fermi level. By varying the analyte's thickness and refractive index, the maximum sensitivity of the two absorption peaks can reach 495 GHz RIU and 895 GHz/ RIU. The corresponding figures of merit (FOM) are 9.9 and 15.2, respectively. The sensor proposed here are applied to detect hemoglobin biomolecule content and has shown excellent sensing performance in our simulations. Therefore, the present work has broad potential for applications in biomedical and medical diagnostic fields. © 2024 IEEE.

Mobile wheeled inverted pendulum (MWIP) is a typical naturally unstable underactuated system and it is very necessary to constrain its transient response to improve the overall safety. Prescribed performance control (PPC) is an effective method, however the system initial conditions are usually required to be known and constraint, otherwise it can lead to singularity problems. In practical systems, it is often difficult to obtain the exact initial state leading to limitations in the application of PPC. To overcome this issue, this paper presented a composite error transformation function to address the problem of initial condition dependence. A continuous bounded function was designed to compress the arbitrary initial error into the predefined bound to avoid singularities. After a set time, it was degraded to an original system error. Based on this composite transformation, a state feedback controller was proposed for the underactuated MWIP system to achieve the constraint outputs. Then, by employing the Lyapunov theorem, it was guaranteed that the closed-loop system would remain stable. Various numerical simulations under different initial conditions were carried out to prove the validity of the proposed controller. © 2023 IEEE.
