With the development of the maritime industry, the number and capacity of existing port cold-ironing (CI) equipment can no longer meet the power demand of ships during berthing, resulting in significant carbon emissions from ships within the port area. Therefore, a ship power sharing strategy based on Shapley value method and Cartel mechanism is proposed. Firstly, the rolling optimization model of ship power scheduling is established to adjust the ship power scheduling strategy according to the real-time information. Secondly, the cooperative game model of ship power sharing is established, and the cost sharing among cooperative ships is realized by Shapley value method. Finally, in order to reduce the situation that ships increase their own profits by deviating from cooperation and affect the overall profits, this paper introduces Cartel mechanism to punish the behavior of deviating from cooperation. The simulation results show that the power sharing strategy proposed in this paper can reduce the total ship cost and carbon emission by 5.28% and 3.78%, respectively. The introduction of Cartel mechanism can increase the cost of non-cooperative behavior, thus ensuring that all ships take cooperative behavior. The power sharing strategy based on Shapley method and Cartel mechanism proposed in this paper is helpful to the construction of green ports. © 2024 IEEE.

Producing traversability maps and understanding the surroundings are crucial prerequisites for autonomous navigation. In this paper, we address the problem of traversability assessment using point clouds. We propose a novel pillar feature extraction module that utilizes PointNet to capture features from point clouds organized in vertical volume and a 2D encoder-decoder structure to conduct traversability classification instead of the widely used 3D convolutions. This results in less computational cost while even better performance is achieved at the same time. We then propose a new spatio-temporal attention module to fuse multi-frame information, which can properly handle the varying density problem of LIDAR point clouds, and this makes our module able to assess distant areas more accurately. Comprehensive experimental results on augmented Semantic KITTI and RELLIS-3D datasets show that our method is able to achieve superior performance over existing approaches both quantitatively and quantitatively. The paper introduces a Koopman bilinear model predictive control (KBMPC) as a local planner for smart wheelchair systems. This approach leverages the Koopman Operator to streamline the nonlinear terms in MPC, aiming to achieve superior real-time performance. In particular, we employ the Extended Dynamic Mode Decomposition (EDMD) method to approximate the infinite dimensional Koopman operator. To tackle the challenge of designing lifting functions, we systematically utilize the derivatives of known nonlinear structures to methodically derive lifting functions. This systematic approach facilitates the identification of a precise bilinear model. Next, we formulate the corresponding Koopman bilinear MPC problem. Finally, an iterative algorithm is employed to efficiently solve the KBMPC problem. This method linearizes the bilinear model around estimations and iteratively solves the resulting quadratic programming problem to refine estimations. This allows KBMPC to function as a real-time local planner for smart wheelchairs. The prediction of nonlinear terms shows that the identified Koopman bilinear model increases the prediction accuracy. Furthermore, experiments demonstrate the advantages of the designed KBMPC local planner, highlighting its superior real-time performance and predictive capabilities. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the pricing problem of transportation based on a framework of network congestion game with both player and resource failures. Firstly, the traffic pricing problem is modeled as a network congestion game by redefining the player's cost function in the event of player and resource failures. Secondly, by using the method of semi-tensor product of matrices, the game with player and resource failures is algebraized and verified to be a weighted potential game. The weighted potential function is also obtained. Then, the impact of player and resource failures on Nash equilibria (NEs) is studied, and the condition on keeping the NE of the original game unchanged is discussed. Finally, the theoretical results are verified by numerical examples. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

The cross-task gap presents a significant challenge for multimodal models because of the differences in input-output workflows. For instance, multimodal pre-trained transformers may encounter uni-modal data during testing. To mitigate the gap, this paper introduces a Transformer in Multimodal Sentiment Analysis under Missing Modalities (TMMM) aims to perform well using missing-modal data during testing. TMMM uses a missing multimodal training approach to prevent accuracy degradation in testing. At the same time, a new network architecture allows the model to reconstruct missing modalities during testing. Classification token fusion and Mixture-of-Experts structures further enhance the model’s performance. A pre-training method utilizing contrastive learning, which can construct negative samples with positive samples, is proposed to overcome insufficient labeled data. Our experiments demonstrated the effectiveness of TMMM on two datasets with no modalities missing, i.e., it consistently achieved the highest classification accuracy and Macro-F1, which outperformed the best state-of-the-art baseline on each dataset by about 2% and 2.5%. Additionally, TMMM usually performs better than other baselines on datasets with missing modalities during testing.

High-frequency time-series data such as vibration signals will consume a lot of communication resources and require very high network bandwidth. Reducing the amount of data transmission while ensuring its availability is particularly important and challenging in high-frequency scenarios. Dual prediction scheme (DPS) can significantly reduce the amount of data transmission while ensuring data accuracy. However, traditional DPS cannot be applied to high-frequency scenarios due to the limitation of the mechanism design and model inference speed. We propose a novel long sequence DPS to efficiently reduce the volume of high-frequency data transmission in real time. To overcome the accuracy degradation due to gradient vanishing in long sequence prediction, we also propose an attention-based prediction model. Furthermore, we propose Informer to reduce the model’s computational complexity and enable fast inference and deployment on resource-constrained edge gateways. Experiments based on the real-world dataset show that the proposed scheme can efficiently cope with high-frequency data, reduce its transmission volume, and ensure data accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Electroencephalogram (EEG)-based seizure sub-type classification enhances clinical diagnosis efficiency. Source-free semi-supervised domain adaptation (SF-SSDA), which transfers a pre-trained model to a new dataset with no source data and limited labeled target data, can be used for privacy-preserving seizure subtype classification. This paper considers two challenges in SF-SSDA for EEG-based seizure subtype classification: 1) How to effectively fuse both raw EEG data and expert knowledge in classifier design? 2) How to align the source and target domain distributions for SF-SSDA? We propose a Knowledge-Data Fusion based SF-SSDA approach, KDF-MutuaISHOT, for EEG-based seizure subtype classification. In source model training, KDF uses Jensen-Shannon Diver-gence to facilitate mutual learning between a feature-driven Decision Tree-based model and a data-driven Transformer-based model. To adapt KDF to a new target dataset, an SF-SSDA algorithm, MutualSHOT, is developed, which features a consistency-based pseudo-label selection strategy. Experiments on the public TUSZ and CHSZ datasets demonstrated that KDF-MutualSHOT outperformed other supervised and source-free domain adaptation approaches in cross-subject seizure subtype classification.

Towards Disturbance Rejection in Feature Pyramid Network

The multiscale problem is one of the challenging topics in the object detection field. Among the current studies toward this problem, feature pyramid network (FPN) has been shown a superior performance. The core principle of FPN is a mapping for the detectable objects into hierarchy features. These features are designed with different size of receptive fields, which brings good scale invariance in the classification and localization subtasks. However, a disturbance of information dilution is generated by the assignment for the detectable objects into different features. This dilution disturbance is associated with the convolution or pooling operation during the hierarchy feature extraction process. Both of the imprecise localization information in the top features and the fuzzy classification information in the bottom ones limit the performance of FPN. Aiming at the disturbance rejection problem of information dilution, this article presents a feature compensation method. A cross compensation between the semantic information and the localization information in hierarchy features is used to enhance the vanilla FPN. Then, the evaluation metrics in an object detection task are examined. Not only the overall performance, but also the respective metrics for multiscale objects validate a considerable improvement of the FPN with a disturbance compensation mechanism. The experimental results demonstrate an effectiveness of the proposed method in this article. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper explores distributed neighbor selection in matrix-weighted networks, where a matrix-valued weight captures the interdependencies among agents' states. We demonstrate the feasibility of preserving and, in certain cases, improving the convergence rate of matrix-weighted networks by having agents exclusively engage with a subset of their neighbors. Leveraging the inherent monotonicity of Laplacian matrix eigenvectors, we introduce a novel neighbor selection criterion that reduces network connections while enhancing convergence rates. Existing neighbor selection strategies often require acquiring information from all nodes before making decisions. In order to propose a distributed neighbor selection strategy for matrix-weighted networks, we establish a numerical relationship between Laplacian eigenvectors and a locally measurable metric. In essence, this paper extends prior findings from scalar-weighted networks to matrix-weighted networks. © 2023 IEEE.
