Spatial deployment of large-scale heterogeneous multi-agent systems (HMASs) over desired 2D or 3D curves is investigated in this paper. With assumption that HMASs consist of numerous first-order agents (FOAs) and second-order agents (SOAs) that could obtain local information of desired curves and their positions relative to their closest neighbors, the collective dynamics of large-scale HMASs are modeled as heterogeneous partial differential equations (PDEs). In particular, this paper introduces series-dependent topological weights between neighboring agents, which are more versatile and practical than constant topological weights commonly used in previous studies. A novel single-point control scheme is proposed, where an informed agent is situated between the last FOA and first SOA. This operation could not only ensure successful implementation of spatial deployment, but also guarantee well-posedness of the constructed heterogeneous error PDEs. By utilizing inequality techniques, sufficient conditions for exponential convergence of error system are derived. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

Hemoglobin hydrolysate is derived from the enzymatic degradation of *** work aimed to evaluate whether hemoglobin hydrolysate promotes the absorption of non-heme iron and the safety of absorbed iron in mice by analyzing the iron binding content,iron circulation,and liver *** found that hemoglobin hydrolysate promoted the absorption of non-heme iron with high efficiency in duodenum by spontaneously binding non-heme iron during digestion,and increased hepatic iron content by up-regulating divalent metal transporter 1,zinc transporter 14,but hepatic iron content only increased at 3 *** iron entered the blood through ferroportin without restriction at 3 weeks,and excessive iron entered the liver and then affected the hepatocyte membranes permeability and lipid synthesis through oxidative *** the prolongation of dietary intervention,the up-regulated hepcidin acted on the ferroportin to restrict excess iron from entering the blood,and then the hepatic homeostasis *** addition,hemoglobin hydrolysate enhanced the hepatic antioxidant *** together,hemoglobin hydrolysate has a strong ability to promote the absorption of non-heme iron in vivo,and the absorbed iron is relatively safe due to the regulation of hepcidin.

Transfer learning(TL)utilizes data or knowledge from one or more source domains to facilitate learning in a target *** is particularly useful when the target domain has very few or no labeled data,due to annotation expense,privacy concerns,***,the effectiveness of TL is not always *** transfer(NT),i.e.,leveraging source domain data/knowledge undesirably reduces learning performance in the target domain,and has been a long-standing and challenging problem in *** approaches have been proposed in the literature to address this ***,there does not exist a systematic *** paper fills this gap,by first introducing the definition of NT and its causes,and reviewing over fifty representative approaches for overcoming NT,which fall into three categories:domain similarity estimation,safe transfer,and NT *** areas,including computer vision,bioinformatics,natural language processing,recommender systems,and robotics,that use NT mitigation strategies to facilitate positive transfers,are also ***,we give guidelines on NT task construction and baseline algorithms,benchmark existing TL and NT mitigation approaches on three NT-specific datasets,and point out challenges and future research *** ensure reproducibility,our code is publicized at https://***/chamwen/NT-Benchmark.

Transmission-Constrained Consensus of Multiagent Networks

This article studies the consensus problem for multiagent systems with transmission constraints. A novel model of multiagent systems is proposed where the information transmissions between agents are disturbed by irregular distortions or interferences (named transmission constraint functions), and this model is universal which can be applied in many cases, such as interval consensus and discarded consensus. In the transmission-constrained consensus problem, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition that agents can converge to state consensus. Furthermore, a more general case is studied in which the system reaches an equilibrium. Based on some techniques of stability theory, the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the system equilibrium point can be proven, which means the system can reach an asymptotically stable equilibrium. Moreover, the state values of the equilibrium are only decided by the network structure and transmission constraint functions but not the agents' initial states. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the proposed theorems and corollaries. © 2014 IEEE.

Evolution of free amino acids, biogenic amines and volatile compounds in fermented sausages inoculated with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Staphylococcus simulans

Lactic acid bacteria and coagulase-negative staphylococci play an important role in the production of fermented sausages,such as inhibiting the growth of undesirable bacteria and *** this study,the effects of inoculation with different starter cultures(Lactiplantibacillus plantarum HN108 and Staphylococcus simulans NJ209)on the free amino acids(FAAs),biogenic amines(BAs)and volatile compounds of fermented sausages were investigated using an amino acid analyzer,ultra performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry,*** pH and carbonyl content of the inoculated group was significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).*** HN108 significantly reduced the content of FAAs and BAs in fermented sausage production(P<0.05),while *** NJ209 promoted the formation of FAAs(especially bitter amino acids)and exhibited slight BAs-reducing *** addition,*** HN108 promoted the formation of volatile compounds such as ketones,alcohols and alkenes in *** conclusion,*** HN108 could contribute to reducing the content of putrescine and tyramine and forming the desirable flavor compounds in fermented ***,*** HN108 is expected to be a starter culture that can improve the safety and flavor of fermented sausages.

Electroencephalogram (EEG)-based seizure sub-type classification enhances clinical diagnosis efficiency. Source-free semi-supervised domain adaptation (SF-SSDA), which transfers a pre-trained model to a new dataset with no source data and limited labeled target data, can be used for privacy-preserving seizure subtype classification. This paper considers two challenges in SF-SSDA for EEG-based seizure subtype classification: 1) How to effectively fuse both raw EEG data and expert knowledge in classifier design? 2) How to align the source and target domain distributions for SF-SSDA? We propose a Knowledge-Data Fusion based SF-SSDA approach, KDF-MutuaISHOT, for EEG-based seizure subtype classification. In source model training, KDF uses Jensen-Shannon Diver-gence to facilitate mutual learning between a feature-driven Decision Tree-based model and a data-driven Transformer-based model. To adapt KDF to a new target dataset, an SF-SSDA algorithm, MutualSHOT, is developed, which features a consistency-based pseudo-label selection strategy. Experiments on the public TUSZ and CHSZ datasets demonstrated that KDF-MutualSHOT outperformed other supervised and source-free domain adaptation approaches in cross-subject seizure subtype classification. © 2024 IEEE.

Bagging and Boosting Fine-Tuning for Ensemble Learning

Ensemble learning aggregates outputs from multiple base learners for better performance. Bootstrap aggregating (bagging) and boosting are two popular such approaches. They are suitable for integrating unstable base learners with large variance and weak base learners with large bias, respectively, but not base learners with small variance and/or bias, e.g., support vector machine, regularized logistic regression, and ridge regression. This article proposes two novel ensemble-learning-based fine-tuning approaches, boosting fine-tuning (BF) and bagging and boosting fine-tuning (BBF), to fine-tune learners with small variance and/or bias for better performance. BF embeds boosting in a single hidden layer neural network. In each iteration, BF first uses the Newton's method to generate a temporary training set, and then trains a boosting learner on it. BBF combines BF and bagging. It first uses bootstrap to obtain multiple replicas of the training set, and then trains a BF learner on each replica. Extensive experiments on 46 real-world datasets demonstrated that BBF is flexible, robust, and effective, and can fine-tune many popular classifiers to achieve better generalization performance. © 2020 IEEE.
