Electroencephalography (EEG)-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) enable neural interaction by decoding brain activity for external communication. Motor imagery (MI) decoding has received significant attention due to its intuitive mechanism. However, most existing models rely on single-stream architectures and overlook the multi-view nature of EEG signals, leading to limited performance and generalization. We propose a multi-view contrastive network (MVCNet), a dual-branch architecture that parallelly integrates CNN and Transformer models to capture both local spatial-temporal features and global temporal dependencies. To enhance the informativeness of training data, MVCNet incorporates a unified augmentation pipeline across time, frequency, and spatial domains. Two contrastive modules are further introduced: a cross-view contrastive module that enforces consistency of original and augmented views, and a cross-model contrastive module that aligns features extracted from both branches. Final representations are fused and jointly optimized by contrastive and classification losses. Experiments on five public MI datasets across three scenarios demonstrate that MVCNet consistently outperforms seven state-of-the-art MI decoding networks, highlighting its effectiveness and generalization ability. MVCNet provides a robust solution for MI decoding by integrating multi-view information and dual-branch modeling, contributing to the development of more reliable BCI systems. Close and efficient cooperation between devices in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) requires precise clock synchronization as a prerequisite. The uncertainty of IIoT networks and the complexity of industrial environments have led to less precise clock synchronization achieved by traditional algorithms and higher network resource consumption. This paper proposes a digital-twin-based clock synchronization scheme for IIoT systems. By building the digital model for each local clock to predict their clock skew, the information interaction required to achieve synchronization is reduced. In order to model the clock accurately, this paper proposes to use the extended state Kalman filter to handle uncertain dynamics and unknown measurement bias to improve the estimation accuracy of clock skew further. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve high- precision clock synchronization while reducing the consumption of network resources. © 2023 IEEE.

Low-Rank Optimal Transport for Robust Domain Adaptation

When encountering the distribution shift between the source(training) and target(test) domains, domain adaptation attempts to adjust the classifiers to be capable of dealing with different domains. Previous domain adaptation research has achieved a lot of success both in theory and practice under the assumption that all the examples in the source domain are welllabeled and of high quality. However, the methods consistently lose robustness in noisy settings where data from the source domain have corrupted labels or features which is common in reality. Therefore, robust domain adaptation has been introduced to deal with such problems. In this paper, we attempt to solve two interrelated problems with robust domain adaptation:distribution shift across domains and sample noises of the source domain. To disentangle these challenges, an optimal transport approach with low-rank constraints is applied to guide the domain adaptation model training process to avoid noisy information influence. For the domain shift problem, the optimal transport mechanism can learn the joint data representations between the source and target domains using a measurement of discrepancy and preserve the discriminative information. The rank constraint on the transport matrix can help recover the corrupted subspace structures and eliminate the noise to some extent when dealing with corrupted source data. The solution to this relaxed and regularized optimal transport framework is a convex optimization problem that can be solved using the Augmented Lagrange Multiplier method, whose convergence can be mathematically proved. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated through extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets.

This study mainly monitored the dominant bacterial populations and identified the spoilage-related microorganisms of braised chicken meat stored under different CO_(2)-modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)during refrigerated storage using a culture-dependent method and 16S rDNA *** quality changes and shelf life of the meat were also *** growth rate of total viable count(TVC)in braised chicken was slower with an increase of CO_(2) content in MAP,which also occurred in the remaining bacterial species monitored(lactic acid bacteria,Pseudomonas spp.,Brochothrix thermosphacta).The MAP exerted beneficial effects on the quality of braised chicken,as demonstrated by retarding the production of total volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N)and delaying lipid oxidation(TBARS test).A total of 14 isolates were identified from braised chickens with different packaging at the end of storage,these included ***(6 isolates),***(2 isolates),Enterococcus faecalis(3 isolates),***(2 isolates),Staphylococcus equorum(1 isolate).

A dual-stream recurrence-attention network with global–local awareness for emotion recognition in textual dialog

In real-world dialog systems, the ability to understand the user’s emotions and interact anthropomorphically is of great significance. Emotion Recognition in Conversation (ERC) is one of the key ways to accomplish this goal and has attracted growing attention. How to model the context in a conversation is a central aspect and a major challenge of ERC tasks. Most existing approaches struggle to adequately incorporate both global and local contextual information, and their network structures are overly sophisticated. For this reason, we propose a simple and effective Dual-stream Recurrence-Attention Network (DualRAN), which is based on Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Multi-head ATtention network (MAT). DualRAN eschews the complex components of current methods and focuses on combining recurrence-based methods with attention-based ones. DualRAN is a dual-stream structure mainly consisting of local- and global-aware modules, modeling a conversation simultaneously from distinct perspectives. In addition, we develop two single-stream network variants for DualRAN, i.e., SingleRANv1 and SingleRANv2. According to the experimental findings, DualRAN boosts the weighted F1 scores by 1.43% and 0.64% on the IEMOCAP and MELD datasets, respectively, in comparison to the strongest baseline. On two other datasets (i.e., EmoryNLP and DailyDialog), our method also attains competitive results. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Most proposed memristor-based circuits of associative memory consider various mechanisms in only one associative memory. Few works on circuit design of sequential associative memory have been reported. In this paper, a memristor-based circuit of sequential associative memory with memory interactions and stimulus similarity effect is designed. Two associative memories, the prior associative memory (PAM) and the later associative memory (LAM), are formed successively. The PAM modifies the rate of the formation of the LAM, and the LAM, in turn, affects the strength of the PAM, which are two interactions in sequential associative memory, called transfer and retroaction. In addition, the magnitudes of transfer and retroaction are determined by the similarity of the conditioned stimuli. The above functions are realized by the ring input processing module, memory module, transfer module and retroaction module. It has been identified in circuit analysis that the proposed circuit is power efficient and has good robustness. Furthermore, the proposed circuit has promising applications for fire rescue robots. © 2016 IEEE.

Bearing-Based Target Entrapping control of Multiple Uncertain Agents With Arbitrary Maneuvers

This paper is concerned with bearing-based cooperative target entrapping control of multiple uncertain agents with arbitrary maneuvers including shape deformation, rotations, scalings, etc. A leader-follower structure is used, where the leaders move with the predesigned trajectories, and the followers are steered by an estimation-based control method, integrating a distance estimator using bearing measurements and a stress matrix-based formation controller. The signum functions are used to compensate for the uncertainties so that the agents’ accelerations can be piecewise continuous and bounded to track the desired dynamics. With proper design of the leaders’ trajectories and a geometric configuration, an affine matrix is determined so that the inter-agent relative bearings can be persistently exciting since the bearing rates are related to different weighted combinations of the affine matrix vectors. The asymptotic convergence of the estimation and control error is proved using Filipov properties and cascaded system theories. A sufficient condition for inter-agent collision avoidance is also proposed. Finally, simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness of the method.
